Found every variety of crafting resources.
There are a total of 12 crafting ingredients. For this achievement you will need to collect EVERY ingredient in the game world during each Act (total of 66 ingredients). Note: If you miss any ingredient in the game world, check the Black Emporium during the next Act to see if you can purchase it. Your current inventory of ingredients can be found at any potion, rune, or poison & bomb "store" or your estate (Gamlen's House in Act I and Hawke's Estate in Act II and III).
IMPORTANT: Before doing the "Demands of the Qun" quest, make sure Isabella is at least 50% friendship/rivalry, you have done her Act I and II companion quests & her 50% companion quest entitled "Questioning Beliefs". DO NOT choose to hand her over to the Arishok or Ambrosia will be unobtainable.
ACT I: 3 Deathroot, 5 Deep Mushroom, 6 Elfroot, 1 Embrium, 1 Glitterdust, 5 Lyrium, 1 Orichalcum, 4 Silverite, 3 Spindleweed
ACT II: 2 Deathroot, 3 Deep Mushroom, 2 Elfroot, 4 Embrium, 4 Glitterdust, 3 Lyrium, 4 Orichalcum, 2 Silverite, 2 Spindleweed
ACT III: 1 Ambrosia, 1 Deathroot, 1 Deep Mushroom, 1 Dragon's Blood, 1 Elfroot, 1 Embrium, 1 Felandaris, 1 Glitterdust, 1 Lyrium, 1 Orichalcum, 1 Spindleweed

The ones I missed from act 1 and 2 showed up in one of the stores in the emporium, I was missing 4, three of them were in the store. Once buying those and was still missing one I realized I must be missing one from act 3, used this guide:
and found the last spindleweed I was missing, yay achievement. I have heard of people buying items from the emporium and it not working. I would hypothesize that this is from them having already gotten every item in act 3 and then buying the ones they missed. Try buying the ones you're missing and then collecting the last one you're missing in act 3 as I did.
My only other concern would be that the unique ingredients will not show in the emporium since they are one of a kind.

Apparently, if you do not have Isabela's friendship to a certain level by the end of Act II, she does not return and you cannot get her personal mission in act III, meaning no Ambrosia and no achievement.

There seems to be some confusion. Or perhaps I am the one that is confused. "Found every variety of crafting resources" implies that you only need to find at least one of each. Although from going through the game one time and the achievement not popping that is obviously not the case. However, the guide (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=300097), also show you where the recipes are located. Are the recipes needed for the achievement as well?

Its not glitched. The problem that everyone is having I think is with the Black Emporium. You must find every one of all 12 ingredients in the proper act. If you miss one in one act, move on to the next act and then purchase it at the Emporium you won't get the achievement. It will only pop if you FIND all the ingredients, not purchase. Some are tied to quests. for example, you can't get dragons blood unless you take on and kill the high dragon.

The quest bugs are the biggest pain I think and impact this one pretty bad. I was going for Supplier then Act of Mercy glitched on me and the location didn't appear on the map so I said bugger it and just played through, missed a few in other quests and then BAM, the location finally appeared long after I'd read the letter.
Buggering buggered bugger.
Next playthrough as a mage then...

There's an excellent guide for this on the forums: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=300097&highlight=crafting+guide
#30: The one thing i wish it had was a road map of choices you have to make in order for this chievo to happen. For instance, you need to keep both Isabella and Anders through act 3 to have access. Finding them isn't the tough part: it's having access to the quests to allow you to harvest them.

ok everyone, i saw that a lot of people were having trouble with this achievement, so on my last playthrough i made a list of all the locations of all the resources in the game.the 1st thing you will need to do asap is recruit isabella, as having max friendship with her is vital and is easy to do this if you romance her and do not flirt with anyone else. Act 1 - ELFROOT - 2 at Sundermount, 2 at Wounded Coast, 1 at Sundermount Ambush Site and 1 at Bone Pit. SPINDLEWEED - 1 in Lowtown, 1 Slaver Cavern, 1 Wounded Coast. EMBRIUM - 1 at Dead Mans Pass. LYRIUM - 1 Bone Pit Mines, 1 Runaway's Cave, 2 in Deep Roads, 1 in Tal-Vashoth Cavern. SILVERITE - 1 at Vimmark Mountain Pass, 1 Deep Roads, 1 in Tal-vashoth Cavern, 1 Sundermount Caverns. ORICHALCUM - 1 Primeval Ruins (Deep Roads). DEEP MUSHROOM

There are only 2 I have't gotten yet. Ambrosia and the one from Merrill's quest. According to the DA wiki page, I should have Ambrosia, if it told where it was correct. I grabbed the contents of the big silver chest from the Isabella mission, but there was no Ambrosia in there, or I didn't get credited for it. Dunno? I didn't read the wiki page until after I did that mission, so it's too late to go back. I haven't bought any crafting resources, so we'll see if I still pop this achievement once I get the final one from Merrill's quest.

I'm in the process of screen shotting the ones on the PC version, because I did happen to get it to pop for me then. Ok, if my story can help.
I looked for every ingredients during my secound playtrough, but somehow, even with the Guide, i realize that i missed one Silverite. After reloading a previous save, i saw that it was one in Act I.
So i tried something. I loaded my automatic-save, made when the game is done.
I downloaded the DLC, went to the ingredient seller and saw the silverite i was missing.
Bought it, and bang, achievement unlocked.
Just need this game to fix the last achivement and i'm done with it :)

just a word of warning, when starting act 3, go right to the hanged man, talk to isabella, then back to the estate to start her quest, o0therwise there is a chance you coulod end up in my boat having to start again.
all i got is isabella in the place she starts teh quest at (infront of the letter's desk in the house), but not starting her quest, only doing her one liners, so 3rd playthru for me just to get 1 cheevo :/ lol

BioWare has figured out the issue:
"(Good?) News! Due to a very helpful user who was able to provide me with some xbox saves I was able to track down the issue with Supplier. Apparently, when buying resources from The Black Emporium, if you EVER buy anything that's in a stack (>1) it will not count properly resulting in your achievement breaking. This includes trying to buy items in a stack 1 at a time. If there is only 1 on the shop, it will work just fine.
Again, the achievement fires when you reach 66 resources. So make sure if you're buying from TBE that you never buy anything that is in a stack. We're working on a solution now that we've pinpointed the problem."
Wednesday, April 27, 2011 @ 10:08:24 AM
So you CAN buy from The Black Emporium, you just can't buy more than one of the same resource after each act.
I missed a couple elfroots in the first act and bought them in the second, then found all the rest on my own. Surprise, the achievement didn't pop. The only achievement I need, so sad. I've started a second playthrough using a walkthrough (http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Supplier) so I can avoid buying them altogether. This is the only GUARANTEED way of getting the achievement at this point.
Saturday, April 30, 2011 @ 09:07:20 PM
I think you'll find it isn't a guarantee.. there are people who have also found every resource and the achievement has still not unlocked.. just read the patch 1.0.2 15_ oage thread and u will see... i know what Bioware said about that being the issue, but that isnt all.. that may be one of the issues with supplier, merely buying 1 resource will not necessarily work, as will finding them all.. as i said up there ^^ it is a lucky dip.. be warned if u are doing a playthrough just for this chevo, i have tried that myself and nothing.. so u cant be 100% sure u will get it even if u do everything meticulously

This just popped for me, even though I was expecting it not to. I was already in
Act 2 when I first went to the Black Emporium, and saw an elfroot there. I
actually checked I had everything from Act 2 by comparing what I had to what would
be left to find in Act 3, and was actually coming up with mismatches (i.e. I would
be two short with only one to find in Act 3).
I went to Act 3 though, and lo and behold, there was some stuff in TBE. However,
after buying it, I moved on with the game picking up everthing in the field. And
then it just popped for me when I got the glitterdust atop Sundermount.

I finally got it, with one patient cute thief! Yes, you have to get all 66 ingredients, but there is a small "out" if you miss out one of two of them.
You need to be Isabella's friend, and keep her from the Arishok to get Amborisa. For whatever reason, I wasn't able to trigger "A New Path" with Merille, although, it could be because I got to 100% rivalry.
So, I got the Ambrosia and the other 64 ingredients, save Ferlandais. I went to the Black Emporium, and I bought an extra Spindleweed which triggered the cheevo.
If I wasn't friends with Isabella, would the Emporium store another extra one to get the cheevo? I think so, but who knows?

Does the Supplier achievement require Torpal's Barrier Rune (think that's his name)
since it's not a recipe, just an item in our inventory. Actually, does it require any rune/potion. Or is it just for getting every single ingredient? To many conflicting responses in this forum. I'm doing Templar cheevo, and need to turn elf tranquil. but i will miss Torpals rune if i dont give him the elf.

This achievement pops when you have 66 total items (rune instructions, potion recipes, poison recipes.) Yes, it helps to follow a guide (achievement guide has a decent guide imbedded in the description for this achievement - even though some of it is flawwed).\
This just popped for me, and after following the guide, I still had one "item" left to obtain (the lyrium rune from Varric's Act III quest) - which I'm actually happy about because now I can put 4 runes in Bianca instead of 1.

Now it's time for me to add to the confusion. I just got this achievement
literally 20min. ago. I missed 3 resources during Act 1 (1 deep mushroom,
1 lyrium, and 1 of something else.) When I got to Act 2, I bought what I had
missed at the BE. I got everything there was to get in Act 2. I got to Act 3
and I got everything except the one in the Isabella Quest and the one in the
Merrill Quest. I did the Isabella Quest and grabbed the Ambrosia, and BOOM,
the achievement popped without getting the one in the Merrill Quest. Well now,
there ya go. When I did my 1st play through, I found at least 1 of everything
and didn't buy anything in BE and nothing popped. I'm happy I got it, but with
my experience with it, something might be wrong with this achievo!

As a side note, the achievement popped for me before I did the Varric quest
in Act 3 were the house is haunted. Meaning I didn't have the rune you get
when the Enchantment Dwarf kid makes the lyrium into a rune. It appears to me
that you do not need all the runes, just the resources. Plus, I had the 7/6 on
the one resource when my achievement popped. Man ...... this achievo is a mess!

FINALLY got this after a 3rd playthrough and tons of headaches. got it right before going into the cave for Merrill's last quest about the mirror. i still had a couple items on my list when it popped, BUT i did buy some of the ingredients from the Black Emporium which i assume counter acted that. so everyone saying buying the ingredients doesnt work, well it worked for me. you have to make sure you find everything that you arent able to buy.

This just popped for me after collecting the 66th resource (some 7/6 etc. from BE). I know I don't have a couple of the one-offs like from Merril's quest yet, but it just seems to be a counter - find enough resources to account for every one in the main game (66 total).

In April on of the ppl from the dev posted that the BE items will work if you buy only the things that are NOT stacked. If there is only one in stock at BE, you can buy it. BUT, it cannot be the last item you need. the last thing has to be found. He posted that they would be trying to fix it, but i haven't seen anything anywhere dated later than that.
This could be why BE sometimes works and sometimes doesn't

BE works, just not very well. The Dragon Age wiki's got a list here: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Supplier
It's pretty detailed, and even provides quest info for those unsure of which quests need to be done in order to unlock the areas that contain those harder to get resources. I think someone else already posted the wiki link, but it's here again for good measure. Enjoy and happy hunting!

This is definitely a Fail achievement on BioWare's part. They really need to study Bethesda and get collectable achievements right. Not only is it fail on the part that it is missable from Act to Act, but it is also missable within an Act if you pass over the item during a quest. Super fail BioWare...shame, shame.

just a confirmation for anyone going for this achievement. black emporium is NOT needed for this, easiest way is to take note of the ingredients and their placement in the game. just mark them off as you collect them and you should have no trouble.

Ya I just encountered the glitch as well. Not happy. 3rd time playing it in two weeks. Missed 2, wasn't a high enough friend with bella and now it didn't pop.

Hate this achievement. Missed a few on my first play through. Came back a few months later and started up a second play through and got hosed by the Isabella friendship/romance thing. So stopped halfway through Act 3 and I'm back to Act 1. Oh well, at least I got the mass exodus achievement but I really didn't want to play through this game 3 times. Ugh.

Such as poor achievement. I actually really liked the game but have tried this achievement 3 times on different playthroughs and every time it hasn't worked even when using the guide. So Buggy! Hopefully will work this one last time before Inquisition comes out!
