Dragon Age: Origins

Dragon Age: Origins Achievements

Across all playthroughs, discovered all possible endings

This is all going to depend on the decisions you make and who you side with throughout your playthroughs. You should be able to get this in two playthroughs. For now, that is unconfirmed. Below in the spoiler tags, is the list of what you have to do. Do not read if you don't want things spoiled for you.

  • Morrigan performs the ritual that saves you.
  • You sacrifice yourself to save Ferelden.
  • Loghain sacrifices himself to save Ferelden.
  • Alistair sacrifices himself to save Ferelden.

This can technically be done in 1 playthrough if you put save points in the right places.

Save 1 - Right before entering the Landsmeet Chamber. Pick Alistair (or Loghain) and then have Alistair die at the end. Reload and pick the other.

Save 2 - Right before entering your room in Redcliffe castle. This is where you will choose whether or not to do the dark ritual. If you do the dark ritual, there is no choice at the end for who kills the archdemon.

Save 3 - Right before going to the rooftop of the tower. If you did not do the dark ritual, you can choose to kill yourself first, then reload, fight the archdemon again and have Alistair or Loghain kill it.

Thanks for that jC Fr34X, I'll be attempting this shortly. Already got Save 1 in place. Once again, thank you.

This achievement requires you to experience 4 different endings in the game. Each one differs in how the Archdemon dies, and who dies with it, or doesn't.

Ending 1 - Choose Morrigans way out and sacrifice no one to the archdemon.

Ending 2 - Turn down Morrigan (she leaves your group) and sacrifice yourself to kill the archdemon.

Ending 3 - Turn Down Morrigan, and let Allistair kill the Archdemon.

Ending 4 - Turn Loghain into a Grey Warden at the Landsmeet (Allistair will leave your party) and at the final battle choose him to kill the Archdemon.

I have gone through all four endings and still don't have the achievement.

When does each ending 'count' as an ending? Is it when an ending achivement would normally pop? Or after?

For this achievement there are four endings, (send me a message if you don't know) as I wouldn't want to spoil. It should pop up after you kill the dragon although I suggest saving after you have completed the "ceremony" part and walked through the doors.

It took awhile, but I was able to do this on one play through. Thanks all! Great advice!!!

ATTENTION! Some retarded Xbox Live update for Dragon Age 2 (!) a few days ago messed up this achievemnt for me. All my stats of Dragon Age 1 - including the game options - have been reset.

This includes the "Perfectionist" as well as the "Hopelessly Romantic" achievement. I had to replay 3 endings and now I have to replay 2 of the romances.

Crap like that could be avoided by making 1 achievement for each ending/romance without some f*cking extra achievements.

The same crap happened to me in January 2011 following an update to Gears of War 2, which reset my online rank and my horde stats.

Those useless Xbox Live updates are starting to piss me off...

Seems this got messed up by the same update that #17 is talking about. I have done all endings but still no achievement have popped. Guess I'll have to replay the whole game to get it then since I don't have a save with Alistar still in the party.

Honestly it's pointless to do all of these in one playthrough since you have to have your character as level 20 of each class and you don't get to level 20 til very close to the end anyway. You might as well just do 3 playthroughs and on your last one you save at the appropriate point to get the other ending as well. It saves you more time and you don't have to keep repeating the same part four times in a row.

Brilliant analysis XPac23! Play through 4 times to get each ending saves more time than doing it in one play-through in a third of the time. Thank you OP for the info. Much more helpful advice.

I had these:
- I died to archdemon;
- I piked up Loghain and then he died to archdemon (Alisteir lives)
- With Alisteir by my side, I did the Dark Ritual.

What's missing to Perfectionist?
Do I need a save with Alisteir dying in Archdemon duel?

I did all 4 endings and I did not get the achievement :/

Anyone else having a problem with this? I did exactly what jC Fr34X said to do with the saves and still nothing. I still need my level 20 Rouge. I guess I will have another go at it.

Just for clarity's sake, I want to point something out. This achievement popped for me and my character did NOT do the ritual with Morrigan, I convinced Alistair to do it and it still counted as the dark ritual ending. I did all of the endings in the same playthrough, as jC Fr34X suggested.

The important save points are:

- Right before you enter the Landsmeet chamber
- Right before you talk to Morrigan right after the return to Redcliffe (though you can make her agree to sleep with the other Grey Warden on your team and save after that. You can go convince or fail to convince the other guy or just say you changed your mind and want to go through with it yourself)

Just to reiterate: YOUR CHARACTER does not need to go through with the dark ritual for this achievement to pop.

My game glitched on my first playthrough i got the achievement for refusing Morrigans offer andd the achievement for accepting her offer when all i did was accept it. Does anyone know if this is going to fuck up the achievement for me? I don't feel like taking the time to do 4 playthroughs if i'm not gunna get anything for it -.-

Just unlocked for me.

You need to make key saves at

1) Before Landsmeet (Select either Alister or Loghain)
2) Right before you enter your room with Morrigan
3) right before you go on the roof in Fort Drakon.

After I beat the game and saw each ending, I resumed play from the home screen and made a save file while I was in camp. Then I just loaded the necessary files to get tot the point I needed to be a to see another ending.

By then end of it I had 4 different end-game camp save files and the achievement popped.

Hope this helps.

This one was a bit annoying having to go through everything 4 times haha. Best place to save is before the land meet

So...I must worry about these until i get that point, and either do save keys or play the necessary playthroughs, and the endings I need are:

*do the ritual
*pick myself to be killed
*pick alistair to be killed
*pick loghain to be killed

I have the ultimate edition of this game and what i noticed was that if you except the deal to do the ritual, finish the game and then chose continue afterwords you will get both ending achievements(A Dark Promise, The Ultimate Sacrifice)and it will have counted as you sacrficing yourself and doing the ritual, then you only need to finish the Alistair and Loghain endings for this achievement.

Does anyone know if I am required to have 4 end game save file in order for it to pop..with all the dlc character save files.. When I went to start another plsythrough it said I had reached my limit of saves.. I am just wondering. I will try and follow all instructions above and let you know.. Cause right now I only have one completed save file where I did the dark ritual, I will try and do the other 3 in one play through.

If you've done some of the endings on a different console, will it still count if you finish it on another one?

Iv done all four endings.
The last two i:
1: Sacrificed myself to the Arch Demon
2: Loaded my save just before the arch demon
3: Battled it again and sacrificed logain

But i never got the achievement for Every Ending.
I saw the ending through to the end BUT.... I pressed B on the credits.
Could this be the problem?
Can someone Elaborate please? :)

(Oh and i got the Master Warden Achievement(500 Kills)at 808 kills in that play through, and it was during my second battle against the arch demon as mentioned above, and it popped when my main character was attacking the arch demon and my team mates were killing the idle defending darkspawn)

This will be easiest if you do one of two things.
1. When you do the methods suggested above for doing it in one play through make sure that you are a male character or if you are female, make sure that you don't do Alistairs love interest.
2. If you do do the love interest with Alistair he will not let you kill the Archdemon if he comes along. If you want to do the love interest with Alistair but need the ending where you die, then you must leave him behind on the way to fight the Archdemon.
I hope this helps and good hunting :)

I figure you get both a dark promise and the ultimate sacrifice because even though you did the ritual you are sacrificing your life because you don't know the ritual will work.
