Dragon Age: Origins Achievements

Ogre's Keeper

Keep the initial ogre alive as your thrall throughout the entire module. (Darkspawn Chronicles)

This one is a little complicated and some people may have trouble with it. At the gates, the Archdemon will give you a quest to save an Ogre. As soon as you approach it, enthrall it. If you don't, it may disappear permanently. Once you enthrall it, keep it alive. When you get to the Palace District, the Ogre will be removed. It will be trapped behind a gate that you have to flip two levers to release. Once you release it, you'll have to enthrall it again (make sure you have an extra spot).

Here's where you may have a problem, there are two Ogres there. Enthrall the first one that was standing behind the gate. The second will follow you around, but make sure you enthrall the first one. Keep it alive through the rest of the DLC and this achievement will unlock during the credits.

There seems to be a bug with this one. If you've played through the DLC once and the ogre died, you may not be able to unlock on subsequent attempts.

If you have a Darkspawn Chronicles save, and you haven't unlocked the achievement, manually delete the save file in your system's memory settings before trying again.

I completed it twice, with the Ogre not dying either time.
The first time, I only unlocked Bane of Thedas (and Enthralling)
The second, I unlocked Ogre's Keeper.
It may have something to do with unlocking BoT, though I doubt it.

I made sure both Ogres didn't die, and still no achievement.

Hey guys, not sure why it's bugged for you. If it continues maybe clear your 360 cache. But anyway, please ensure you keep the same ogre alive at all times. After you first enthrall him, he should NEVER leave your party other than when he gets trapped behind the gate you have to open for him. If you need more information please feel free to message me on Xbox or this and I'll be happy to help further.

Bugged for me too. I am positive he did not die either time and still no unlock. I know there are more bugged games out there but this is the most bugged I've played and I am so disappointed in BioWare right now. It is sick that a company of that caliber should let this mess of bugs not only be released, but failed to patch 90% of the bugs even after years!

Just in case anyone cares I finally got this by deleting all DSC saves, deleting DLC, clearing cache, re-installing DSC and updating DAO. Then on my next play (on casual difficulty) I made sure that NONE of my enthralled died. I enthralled the first genlock, then the ogre and then left a spot open for the Shriek from the market. I then made sure then none of them died. As soon as the ogre was free in the palace district I re-enthralled (first one through the gate, like everyone says, verified by approval rating). Got achievement at the end. Just a thought. Hope it helps someone else.

I've tried this several times, always keeping the initial ogre alive and still i'm not getting the achievement. This is seriously upsetting.

ok. WEll i think i have the ultimate solution. When it did not work for me, i was not happy as many of you who also experienced the problem were. I followed the advice to delete the save files for the darkspawn chronicles, like the actual playthrough ones. then i decided i wanted to make sure i did not fail again. so i followed this guide and it turned out to be perfect. Bottom line: make sure the ogre you entrall at the gate has the correct amount of approval. It is the obvious indicator of the correct ogre. I believe it is random at that point which ogre bangs the gate, so you need to make sure you get the right one

Okay, just unlocked it after a couple of frustrating playthroughs. Main difference this time around was I deleted all the Darkspawn Chronicles saves from my hard drive before following the above steps. Just to be safe I directly controlled the Ogre during the final section at the top of Fort Drakon.

Good luck to everyone who still needs this, just remember - delete your safes before beginning a new game. I also finally got the Enthralling achievement after doing so.

The bug is that sometimes the ogres that come through the gate both have neutral approval. SAVE before pulling the levers and opening the gate. I can't be fucked with this anymore tonight I will do it tomorrow. But just remember SAVE before opening the gate then enthrall the first ogre to come through. If he has neutral approval then simply reload your save and try again.

I saved at the levers and had to reload about seven times before my Ogre finally showed up. It was the first Ogre to come through the gates. Just got the achievement at the same time as BoT and Enthralled, on my first runthrough.

I don't know how many people are still going for this. But I was reading on the Bioware social network and one suggestion was to enthrall the ogre before completing the quest "Save the Ogre." This suggestion seemed to work for me. Just remember to save right before you leave the alienage, just in case your particular ogre failed to spawn.

Actually it doesn't seem to matter if the Ogre dies, just as long as you don't continue a game where he dies.

Just got this achievement on my first play through the Darkspawn Chronicles, and all I did was save at every opportunity, then whenever the ogre got killed I reload my last save. Did that, he died two or three times, but still got the achievement at the end.

Ok so first I tried all the reasons above and reasons on every other site i could find. I even went as far as contacting Bioware and EA support only to have them make me wait about 45min to an hour (after actually getting in contact with them) while they tried to figure out a way to help only to tell me they couldn't.

That being said after about 9 tries of full restarts I finally got it.

Here is what I did to finally get it after trying everything.

Assuming you have already played through and it didn't work.

1. Go to your system memory and delete all save game files from the Darkspawn Chronicles from your hard drive and any memory cards that you may have.

2. Delete ALL your DLC including darkspawn chronicles (everything including Witch Hunt, Liliana's etc.)

3. With you

3. With your hard drive highlighted, press "y" then select delete cache.
4. Repeat previous step with any memory cards selected.
5. Go to marketplace and look up dragon age and download ONLY darkspawn chronicles. (do NOT go through game to download the DLC.)
6. Start new game.
7. Enthrall 1 of the Hurlocks that run ahead and ignore the little guy it tells you to.
8. Ignore all enemies and go directly where the Ogre spawns.
9. It only takes 4 kills to get him to spawn so try and get the 4th kill as close to his spawn point as possible.
10. When he spawns drop what ever you are doing and enthrall him ASAP.
11. Don't bother enthralling anyone else and just go and kill the main people you need ignoring all side quests. Continue until the stage where he disappears.
12. Do not go to

12. Do not go to the right at all just go left up the stairs and around to the levers killing only the people you need to on the way.
13. Release the levers
14. (when my achievement popped i had actually enthralled the wrong ogre first ( the one that is NOT directly against the gate. I then decided to kill him and enthrall the correct one right after so only the correct ogre lived.) After i did this however the second ogre approval bar had gone back to neutral but i ignored it and continued.
15. Only kill the people you need on the way up to Sten. Kill him and move on to the final stage.
16. if you are worried about losing your ogre on this stage have him hold right outside the door on the final stage and go in and kill of a lot of the enemies around the dragon b4 calling them in t

17. Not sure if this makes a difference but my kill order on the final group was 1. Liliana 2. Morrigan 3. Barkspawn 4. Allister
18. After killing Allister let the movie play out and the credits roll. (dont skip) achievement popped half way through the credits.

I hope this helped because I was about to give up.

Good Luck

I've tried almost all the tips here. The only one I didn't tried yet is the #18. I'll play this dlc once again, doing everything he says and then I'll come back here to say if it it worked.
