Dragon's Dogma

Dragon's Dogma Achievements

The Coin Collector

30
Earned a total of 10,000,000G.

You will most likely get this achievement during your second playthrough. It is cumulative, so all of the gold you earn or loot in your first playthrough will carry over to your second. Also, you don't need 10,000,000 at one time. The game counts all the gold you've ever held. To see the total gold you've earned, go to your History from the menu and find 'Total Earned' in General under the Adventure Log tab.

'Bosses' Method:
One way to obtain lots of gold is to defeat bosses in the Everfall post-game. You will receive gold and other rewards which can be sold. Your best option is to defeat the Ur-Dragon through the port crystal in Cassardis during your second playthrough. Sometimes he will spawn with low health and you can get an easy set of weapons and armour to sell. Also, your weapons and armour at the time of his defeat will become dragon forged and can be sold for large amounts of gold.

'Carrot' Method:
Another option is the carrot exploit. Put everything you own in storage, then go to The Rift and find sorcerer Pawns with the augment 'Sausion' (this part is unnecessary, but makes this go by faster). Holding the Badge of Merit (given to you by the Duke during "Reward and Responsibility" and an Idol if you have one, go to Lola's shop in Cassardis and buy as many carrots as you can for you and your pawns. Now sleep at the inn in Cassardis 3 times to turn the carrots into moldy carrots. If you go to your options and change to 'offline mode' you won't have to wait for the game to access the servers every time you wake. Go to Aestella's shop and sell the carrots for around a 250K profit.

As soon as your 'Total Earned' reaches 10,000,000 G, the achievement will unlock.

I figure this will be relatively hard as apparently money is fairly scarce in this game.

Well this game looks fun so it shouldn't be that boring to grind for it.

I assume this includes money you earn whoring out your pawns.

On the demo you found 1000 gold every time you found some, so it doesn't necessarily have to be that difficult.

Will this be across multiple playthroughs?

Tales of Vesperia had a 10,000,000 gold/(gald) money achievement too, but it was easy if you waited till post game (I think I got 7.5 million in a couple of days). This achievement will probably work the same way; dirt poor for most of the game, but rolling in gold at the end.

24 hours into my first playthrough and I just cracked 800,000.

Doesn't actually seem too bad, as of 5 hours of play time and I have over 45,000 and I also noticed that the chievo is for 10M "earned", meaning not necessarily all in your pocket at once, plus there is the chievo for the second playthrough...

I think the main question is: 10.000.000 AT ONCE IN YOUR INVENTORY OR IN TOTAL EARNED?

Its EARNED throughout the game. To check your stats on monsters killed/gold earned/equipment found/etc. go to the Menu, then History then (RB) til the last panel.

The easiest way to get money is just to stay in the everfall and keep going into the dungeons and sell everything you find. This is also the easiest way to level up.

First playthrough, 44 hours in (maybe halfway through the story), i've earned a total of just over 3.5 million. Money's not easy to come by at first, but you start getting it regular once you hit Gran Soren.

After I beat the game I sold everything in my inventory and had 11,000,000 gold. Got the achievement and reloaded my game.

This is not very hard. Just collect things during the game, and in your second game play, venture down to Everfall, collect about 40 wakestones, go to the smith and sell EVERYTHING that you've collected(even if you don't want to sell them) and just press 'sell', see the chevo pop and then restard your console.

I'm almost done with my second playthrough and I think I've only collected a little under 5 million. :L

If you really needed to get this achievement really quickly, the "hard Mode" they have just added to the game will give you much more exp. from quests and monsters, but it will start you from the beginning.Fortunately you will have all the upgraded equipment from your previous game.

The "Carrot Method" doesn't work in Dark Arisen. You can only buy 99 carrots and the restock in the shop is like a couple of carrots per day.

It's true that the carrot method doesn't work in Dark Arisen, but you don't need it.
When you start exploring BBI Island just sell the surplus of bitterblack weapons and armors level 1 and 2, with the Sorcerer's Suasion. ;)
