Dragon's Dogma

Dragon's Dogma Achievements
The Captain15
Enlisted a large number of pawns.

By the end of your second playthrough you should have enlisted quite a few pawns, but most likely not enough for this achievement. You should work on this over the course of your playthroughs so it isn't so much of a grind in the end. You will want to constantly do this to have the highest level pawns you possibly can.

To enlist a pawn either find one walking around, speak to it, and enlist it, or enter The Rift by accessing a Rift Stone. These are located all over Gransys. There is one in the Pawn Guild in Gran Soren. Clear your party by pressing to speak to a pawn who is with you. Choose 'Release' for them to leave. To avoid going through the same tedious process of selecting a gift, rating, and choosing a message to send with the pawn, go to the options menu and select 'Offline Mode'. Now when you hire 'offline pawns' you won't need to send gifts and messages with them. This will likely cut the time it takes for this achievement in half.

You can enlist the same pawn and it will count towards the achievement. Just enlist 70 times and the achievement will unlock. Your progress can be viewed in the Adventure Log.

I wonder what exactly a “large” number is.
Depending on challenge I plan on using my main Pawn as a healer & maybe one warrior, myself being the Strider. So I don’t plan on hiring many unless I need to.

You do realize how dumb that sounds right?! You can hire support pawns for free so what is the point on not doing it? Good luck only playing with 2 people then ill be over here with four making my way through the game.

I'm always a Warrior-type. My main pawn is my 2nd favorite class, a Mage, and I always hire a Strider and another Fighter for an evenly balanced team. Funny thing is my main pawn gets hired a lot. Seems a lot of people like hiring healers.

Back on topic, anyone have an idea on what the number is?

I got the achievement at 70 enlistments. You can check your current number of pawns enlisted under "history" in the pause menu.

is it possible to hire the same pawn and release them and it count toward the total each time or does it have to be different pawns each time?

#10 - Good question, I would like to know the answer. I use the same 2 Rift pawns all the time, a mage and a sorcerer - Can i keep releasing them and re-hiring to get this to pop?

Easiest way for this is to enter the Rift when your offline. You have an endless supply of pawns and you can hire/release them pretty fast.

Using 14's method, popped it immediately after hitting 70 pawns. Took about 20mins.

To confirm on #14's method, you do not need to leave the rift in between either
