Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Achievements

Master Architect

Build three houses

To satisfy this and Architect, you will need to fully build on all three available plots of land (so get "Land Baron" unlocked first). This will include the three available wing additions to the houses. To most quickly do this, make sure you have a steward at the house (list) and a sizable bank account to purchase materials. You'll want to buy out blacksmiths of their Iron and Corundum ingots, and then order plenty of stone and wood from your steward. Use the anvil to create a large supply of locks, nails, hinges and iron fittings as well.

Once you've got a large supply of materials, use the drafting table near your home to setup the outline. Then step over to the carpenter's workbench to begin building up the structure. Once you have the house built, you can add the main hall in the same fashion and convert the small house into an entryway. Then you'll choose one wing at a time from each section (north, west and east) and build them up in the same fashion as well. Once all three homes have been built up completely with three wings the achievement will unlock.

If at any time you run out of materials, simply order more from your steward or fast travel to a town for more ingots and create the needed materials from the anvil again.

Besides this achievement, I can't really see why I would want to build more than one house. Dividing up all my daedric artifacts and dragon mask and weapons and such seems stupid, IMO.

Nice. I figured it'd be a choice between the 3 plots, not an option to own them all :D

Now instead of having a mage/thief/warrior room, I can construct a house for each.

I think we need to build all three wings on each house, I have done it for my 1st house, but just not for the other 2 houses, and I didn't get the achievement

I can verify that you must build all three houses completely (all three should have three wings) in order to unlock this achievement, not just the tiny beginner houses

Tuesday, September 04, 2012 @ 09:37:22 PM

I can verify the achievement did not unlock after I built one house completely up (three wings) and two other houses (with just the main hall).

I am also starting to agree with #19 that the achievo will not unlock unless you build up all the houses with three wings added on.

All three houses need to have East West and North Wings. also they need to have cellars as well. You do not need to furnish the houses. took me a total of around 2 hours cause i had to run around looking for iron.

I can confirm that this achievement is glitched, me and my friend both have fully upgraded houses with the three wings and cellars and the achievement will not pop, so good luck.

Edit- apparently we both had bedroom walls we had to build twice, they disappeared after we zoned, so that was weird.

This is a seriously long drawn out achievement. Can certainly say, once again, I've not enjoyed Skyrim DLC. At least its not been an appaling game at least. Once I'm done here, 1300g!

I got it to unlock as soon as I finished the third wing on the third house. I also had all the miscellaneous stuff outside built (stable, smelter, etc.) on all the houses, so I don't know if that might be necessary as well.

Friday, September 07, 2012 @ 03:53:01 PM

@27 you do not need to furnish the houses, or build any of the extra outside stuff. Just the three wings on each of the three houses.

My achievement popped when I went into the last house after completeing it.

Blarg. Three houses all with three wings, cellars, transformed small house to entry way, all the outside crap, and the entire inside 100% furnished. Walked in and out of all three houses and still no achievement. I think I'm toast on this one.

@29 You make sure all of them have a cellar?

All 3 houses must has 3 wings fully finished AND a cellar. No interior is required.

And i wish you could choose with house got the fish hatchery, bee keeping, and flour mill, but they did add new recipies.

@30 Yea, I definitely have cellars in all three and three wings on all three. I'm not sure what else I can do. Maybe I really did actually glitch it? I have no idea. I'm a pretty sad panda though.

Sunday, September 09, 2012 @ 06:17:21 PM

@32 Are you 100% positive all 3 have all 3 wings? Should check again, I noticed for some reason I can't build a library or something so I just picked storage or whatever. Just make sure all 3 only have 2 options left for East, West and North. If you see 3 options for one wing you missed one.

Got it ! I don't know what I did differently, but I was walking around one of my houses and it just randomly popped while I was building some shelves. I don't know what triggered it or what took so long but I'm glad it sorted itself out.

Do you have to build each kind of wing addition? What I mean is for example I never build the Storage addition because I don't need it so I always pick one of the other rooms for that wing. Do I have to build the Storage addition for this to pop?

I built my second, third house totally unfurnished with three wings and a cellar on each (no Misc exterior). My first house was 100% complete. However, I did (not sure if its was necessary) use all nine wing types across three different house combinations... Achievement popped right up.

I can confirm you don't need cellars, just the 3 wings on each house, I did all 9 different types of wings on my houses, that's probably the main trigger

Thursday, November 29, 2012 @ 09:06:04 AM

you dont need the different wings.. i had two alchemy towers and didnt use the other one... (i forgot what it was). You dont need to furnish them or anything, except for one for the adopt the kid achievement of course. I hope it any future DLC's they will add some more customization options for the houses.. and a way to rebuild a wing you dont want.. unless i missed that.

i can say that yes this schievment is glitched however i found a way to activate it. you have to go back outside to the small table and rem odel all your entry ways. you also have to build the misc things such as stables, smelter ect.

It seems that when I try to build a main hall on my 3rd house it doesn't let me. The only available option is the small house layout and that's it. I currently have one house 100% furbished whilst the second one has no furbishments but all has all three wings. Does anyone know how to combat this problem? Do I need to fully furbish the second house first before moving onto the third house? Please help. :)

This achievement glitched on me too at first. Not sure what finally made it click but later on (long after I gave up on it) I was playing the Dragonborn DLC and got a achievement for that and this one popped at the same time.

Monday, February 11, 2013 @ 11:51:07 AM

@24. How much more customization could you want? You can have anything from a small shack to a giant mansion with your choice of 9 different additions and pick and choose whatever furniture and storage options you want on a room by room basis. What were you expecting? Did you think you were going to be able to draw up whatever house design your wanted and the game would somehow be able to build it?

I just built 3 wings for each house (used a different wing each time, although I doubt that matters) and a cellar and the achievement popped after a few seconds. Should pop as long as you have 3 wings and a cellar for each house. No interior or extra exterior building is necessary.

When you build a house and completely furnish it and build all of your trophy plaques etc. you will not be able to move any of these furnishings or plaques to another house. This is especially annoying if you build a platform for all of your shrines down in the cellar because the shrines them self are hard to make. When you approach them in hopes of moving them all you can do is activate them and get a blessing.
