Fable 2

Fable 2 Achievements

The Teaser

Make bandits respond to expressions with fear, anger, mirth, and confusion... during combat!

Considering this is only a 5 point achievement, it's actually one of the trickiest in the game. We're not sure why ... Maybe it has something to do with successfully getting a bad guy to respond to 4 different category expressions while he's trying to rip you limb from limb. Nevertheless, there are 3 distinct strategies to use to get it and we'll start with the easiest out the 3.

Strategy 1 - The Fairfax Castle Strategy - Fairly simple in the end, but tough to get to. In order to do this strategy, you must have completed the game and amassed 1 million in gold to buy the Fairfax Castle. After buying the castle and sleeping in the bed one night, the place will be invaded by bandits. Firstly, you must fight your way down to the Throne room and clear the room of all but one bandit (preferably the small weak ones and one that uses a sword and not a gun). Then position yourself behind the throne and there is a place there where for some reason (call it glitchy AI) the bandit will not attack and will just stand there. When you have that sweet spot, stand, make sure he is targeted (red glow) and then use of of the 4 expression types on him (Fun, Flirt, Rude & Scary), one after another. Each one he should respond with a short quip to it and on the fourth the achievement should unlock.

Strategy 2 - The Weaponless Bandit Strategy - Firstly, get down a pack of bandits to the final one and you'll need to shoot his weapons away from his without killing him ... use a weak gun may help? When you do, he'll be swinging his fists around but his reach won't be as good. While he's doing that, get a little distance and use one of all 4 expression types (Fun, Flirt, Rude & Scary) and on the fourth, the achievement should unlock.

Strategy 3 - The Bandit & The Tree Strategy - Tricky, but possible out in the woods (Brightwood maybe). What you need to do is position a tree or clump of trees inbetween you and a bandit, so much that he literally tries to go through the tree to get you. When he's doing that, make sure he is targeted (red glow) and then use of of the 4 expression types on him (Fun, Flirt, Rude & Scary), one after another. Each one he should respond with a short quip to it and on the fourth the achievement should unlock.

Seems a lot for 5 points, but completionists will want to nail this bad boy. It also appears that it doesn't have to be done on the same bandit, so if you must, chose 4 different ones.

alright this is a little tricky to do, but getting this achievement is hard anyway :P. so once you become king, and the bandits come in your castle thru that secret passage. kill off most of the buggers, then leave one (prefferably a weak one with rifle or something)and go behind your throne in the big room where you are fighting them. if you stand in the right spot the bandit should stand there and not attack. now you can have enough time to do all expressions. im pretty sure i just did one of each expression (scary, mean, nice ect.)

I still have not managed to get this one! My husband got it when during a random fight a bandit got stuck behind some rocks, so take advantage of this if something like that happens. I tried to do this while in co-op mode - hubby's sidekick distracts them while I do expression. I managed to pull off two reactions, but when the bandits stopped focusing on me it seemed to break the cycle or something.

Just got this on a slave rescue quest. It's actually pretty easy once you've got enough experience/health. Just whittle down a pack of bandits to one (preferably one of the weaker ones), shoot off his weapons (sub-targeting in dextrous styles under Skill), and then do the expressions. Sure, you'll take a few hits, but nothing major. Just make sure you get some distance (not too far, though!) so your expressions don't get interrupted.

I finally got it! I ran through the Crucible (with a high level hero) and go to the bandit level where there are some on the bridge. I killed the ones that ran at me on the ground level, then went under the bridge, red-targeted one of the bandits on the bridge, and got the 'cheev. They got a few shots off but not enough to knock me out.

It's also doable in Rookridge. Coming from Bowerstone, you come to that bit with the cliff path and several bandits on lower and higher levels. Kill off most of them and there's probably still a couple of bandits above you. Be prepared to take a few hits, but you should get it easily enough.

any bandit group will do by the road. kill all but one (the last needs to shoot at you) then make the four expressions. if you stand a bit longer distance, he will even miss you.

Just shoot off a bandit's weapons by aiming at both his arms. He will then move really slowly towards you. Do one expression at a time and just keep rolling out of his way when he just shuffles too near you.

Time Control makes this easy, with 1 bandit left use Time Control on yourself so time slows down (not on the bandit or you will just teleport), run a short distance, make sure the bandit is targeted and perform an expression. Repeat for each expression.

Higher levels of Time Control mean more time, but level 3 was more than enough to make sure the bandit was selected, select the expression and start performing.

I just wandered into a bandit camp, bumped off everyone but the boss, and then got him stuck on some crumbling rock wall along the ground. Then I just did four expressions, randomly from each group, and this achievement unlocked. I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was from all the comments listed here and on other forums. Now for the dollcatcher achievement...

I just tried to do this for 2 hours straight. Had several different (glitched) bandits and did full perfect expressions of every category and even tried different ones. The achievement is just not unlocking. I'm beginning to think it's not possible to do in co-op as that's the only mode I play (and yes I'm the primary), or after you already completed the game (w/ Ruler of Albion and The Completionist), or with the dog pulling agro.

Confirmed. Once I did this single player instead of co-op, I got this on the first try. Unlike what all the videos show, it's not even necessary to land perfect expressions.

FINALLY!!! was up several hours trying and went to sleep frustrated.:( Just now got it and wish i knew that this does NOT work on all types of bandits. should be worth a lil more in my opinion but as hard as this was for me to get, the satisfaction from getting it was enough. Good luck!

Oh god, have you really found this that hard?
Just run through the Crucible, and at the Bandit level kill all of them but one.
Then proceed to disarm him, and do the required expressions.
"This is tricky"... "3 strategies"... WHAT THE HELL?

GGot behind the throne and did what it asked several times, but it didn't pop. It's not to big a deal since im not going for completion(cbf dollcatcher), but it still sucks.

I did it on bandit coast. getting down to one bandit and then disarming him. If your skill is high you can acidently kill him, opps. I did have to expand the fun one, no idea why, but I did all of them and then did danceing and it poped.

In Fable I, didnt you have to do more then one bandit? Anyone know of anyone that has tried it with different bandits?

#19 is right, this won't work on all bandits. I tried during a Slave Rescue and it didn't seem to work (maybe because they're technically "slavers"?), nor strangely, during a Bounty Hunter job specifically stated to kill bandits. Went into the Crucible once, did the expressions once and got it.

My advice;stick to the bandits in the Crucible.

Pretty obvious to do this at Bandit Coast. Kill them off to just one left, disarm him twice so he has no weapons left, then he'll just move at you really slowly as you do one of each expression. Doesn't have to be the expandable expressions.

I utilized "Strategy 1", but I didn't have to hide behind the throne. My last AI got stuck near a pillar and stopped moving. From there I used expressions from FUN, FLIRT, RUDE, AND SCARY. I can't recall which exact expressions I used (I just picked ones and random). You shouldn't have to hold the expression. I didn't. I did do FUN, FLIRT, RUDE, SCARY and it didn't pop, so I started over through the expressions again and I did FUN AND FLIRT and then it finally popped. So it took me 1.5 times.

This quest is only available after the player has gained access to Bloodstone not after escaping with garth , it a good idea to do it directly after doing T.O.B.Y quest ,

This was hilarious and easy to do. I just found some bandits and killed all but one of them. Then I just toyed around with the last guy, finally falling down a small ledge. He went around and came back at me but ended up staying a short distance away, 'dancing' (ready to fight but not actually fighting me). I just performed one of each of the four on him and got the achievement. I love his responses too ("I'm going to tell my mummy!" haha).

This was a bit tricky for me. I managed to squeeze between a tree and part of a hill and the bandit couldn't get to me. Got after a few failed attempts though
