The Property Magnate

A property must be sold for twice the price it was bought for.

Simple, choose a property early on, I suggest Bowerstone Market, "The Silk Moon", next door to the tavern. Buy it and then fill it with as much 5 star furniture as possible. Chances are you won't be able to buy it all at once from the furniture store, so either a.) buy and then return a week later (sleep if you must) or b.) buy and then go to Bloodstone and buy it there. Once the house has been filled up. Play the game, do quests to improve your renown and also buy stuff from round town to improve the revenue and richness of the area. Then, go back and sell.

Chances are you'll get it for that alone, but the good thing with the Silk Moon is that, if not, there is a trophy plaque on the stairs where you can attach trophies whilst in Redecorate Mode which significantly adds to the value of the house.

Thanks to Olioster for the direction.

Find a house with really bad furniture and buy it. Replace all the furniture with luxury furniture, and then sell it. That's what I did.

Bought the Silk Moon by the Bar in Bowerstone. After refurnishing and adding a trophy, I sold it. Then I quit without saving and went back in. Got the achievement an I got to keep my house! :)

I used the Invisible Hand in Old Town with a mix of Deco and Luxury furniture (it even has a chair that won't swap for some reason.) There's also a silver key on the balcony IIRC.

@nathanxplosion: Only thing I can suggest is try and find a really cheap house you either own or haven't bought yet and like everyone else says fill it with luxury furniture items that you can buy in Bowerstone Market or Bloodstone.

So I don't understand why I can't get it...

Base Value: 3,600$
Selling and the final price is 20,520$ that's way more that twice as much and it still doesn't unlock.

Bought The Silk Moon for 9,000; replaced about 7 things with 5 star furniture, saw the new value was 12,000; added a trophy, value jumped to 19,000; saved my game, sold the place, got the achievement, went back to Xbox Home and now watching Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.
this achievement was easy...especially after my friend gifted me over 23,000,000 gold cause he has nothing to do with it.

I got the silk moon and all I did was put the Crucible trophy on the display and it more than doubled the worth. I didn't have to buy anything to replace what was inside.

I tried the Silk Moon, but there was already a lot of great furniture in there, and trophy didn't help enough.

I used a place in Bloodstone called The Vile House (The Vile Something, I think House). It was after I finished the game and it had about a 4000 value when I checked its sign. Most of the stuff inside sucks, so 4/5 star furniture ups the value a lot (like a 5* bed gave +1000). Plus, it's right down the street from the furniture store (leaving the store, go left and keep left until you're past the little triangular fenced in area, and the house is on your left).

I followed the original advice and went with the Silk Moon in Bowerstone next to the Tavern. I used the furniture store the other side of the square and replaced almost everything to a 5* level (sleeping in between so they could re-stock the bookcases and chairs etc)...

...I had forgot how much I paid for the Silk Moon so I got it up to £13945 (I think I still had the bedside drawers and the bookcase upstairs to swap but everything else-even the sink and stove were all 5*). I then added the Crucible Trophy to the wall plaque which put it up to £20776. Once I sold it the achievement popped
