Tranquility Lane

Completed "Tranquility Lane"

After using the Tranquility Lounger you will be put into a computer simulation. You will talk with a little girl named Betty who will force you to do bad things around town, ultimately ending in your killing everyone. This course will obviously lead to quite a bit of bad karma.

Instead, you can go into the Abandoned House and interact with the objects in the front room to initiate the Chinese failsafe. Use this order: Radio, Glass Pitcher, Gnome, Glass Pitcher, Cinder Block, Gnome, Bottle. This will lead to good karma.

Once you have done either method, talk with Betty again for an exit door to appear. Use the door and speak with your father outside the simuation.

See Tranquility Lane for more specific info.

If you don't want bad karma you can go to the abandoned house and activate the failsafe. you will see some things on the first floor that you can activate. Activate them in the following order: Radio, Pitcher, Gnome, Pitcher, Cinder Block, Gnome, Bottle. When you go to the terminal make the chinese army kill everyone then go to the playground and you can exit this way. Also you get good karma for this.

This can be glitched if you enter the area with the G.E.C.K., specifically...
the entire building, and will void your achievement, even if you've already
finished the quest like I did, or you're going to have to do another
play-through to get it.

Tranquility Lane is one of the most beautiful places in Fallout 3, even though getting the achievement itself it's pretty boring and weird. I mean, you can do what Betty tells you to do and get a bunch of bad karma, but you can also turn the failsafe on through the abandoned house mainframe and make the chinese guys kill everyone and get a good karma! Tell me how it can give you good karma if you are the one who turns the failsafe on thus killing everybody! It should give you bad karma. There should be another way of completing this quest. It's just a thought.

I loved this chapter. It wasn't very hard, but the look and feel of it was amazing.
