Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 Achievements

Liberate an outpost without triggering an alarm.

This is best done on the first few Outposts you come across. Mainly because they're made of few guards and are easy pickings. To liberate an Outpost with any alerts you must take the stealth route to killing everyone. You'll need to make sure the enemy AI does not spot you and this is pointed out by the white arrow at the top of your screen. If this fills up all the way to the sides and guard starts to shout and shoot at you, you've been spotted. This also counts if the alarm is set off.

The first thing to go is to find an advantage point near the Outpost and use your camera to tag all the AI in the area. This way you can keep track of them all. Once that's done, make your way around it distracting each guy with your rocks one-by-one. When they get close, either make sure you're hiding in some bushes or on a corner and press to do a takedown.

Using your gun should be out of the picture here, as it'll alert more guards to your spot. Just take your time and this should be quite easy. If by chance you have taken over all Outposts in the game but have not completed the Skills objectives. You can reset them all by going into the games options menu.

With there also being a liberate all outposts achievement, I assume this could be missable?

Of course it's missable... if you don't go stealth you won't get it? Not sure your point.

he means you won't be able to try this indefinitely as there are a limited amount of outposts

I think it will be easier in the beginning of the game. Later, when the enemies have armor, I don't think our equip will be able to OHK anymore.

Anyway, surely it is missable, but it is easy to start another game and play just for this achievement.

@3 I was just trying to make people aware who may not have been.

@4 Exactly my point :D

@5 Ye it will definitely be easier in the beginning, true enough about starting a new game though.

Or just disable the alarm box, as I just saw in a gameplay video.

Ironically enough i find it easiest to go completely undetected using the rocket launcher and grenade launcher from a long distance. Blow up the alarms first. Dumb AI's don't even detect you if you stay well out of range.

you get 1500 exp instead of 500 for going undetected so most people will try this on every camp,

Got this on a small outpost when I liberated a Tiger and he did all the work. Had to put the asset down and leave no witnesses after though, US government style.

All you have to do is shoot the alarm box (if you don't feel like being stealthy.) There is a chance that one of the enemies will shoot a flare, but as long as reinforcements aren't alerted, you'll get this achievement.

just a small note, some outposts have 2 alarm, but only 1 of them is functioning. Just make sure you disable/destroy the functioning one.

Has anyone done this at the very first outpost you go to with Dennis?I seem to kill everyone with no alarms being triggered and killing the dog but still only get 500XP.Is it because it is a tutorial type mission and you can't get it.

I think someone may have pointed it out already in a video, but if not...On some outposts there are animals in cages obviously, an easy way to just breeze through this is to find an outpost with a Tiger, get the Bow (Or silenced weapon) shoot the cage, run and hide and once the Tiger kills everything...There you go.

I just threw a grenade at enemies in the outpost, then ran back to a bush, letted the pirates simmer down and relax, sneak up, toss another grenade, fall back, repeat till all enemies were dead, achievo unlocked

All you have to do is press x next to an alarm to disable all alarms and then do whatever you want to kill the enemies.

@Jonny. I had exactly the same issue, so I'm guessing it won't unlock due to being a tutorial mission. Kinda like the first mission on Hitman Absolution.

This achievement is quite easy. When you reach badtown (Not sure if I spelt it right), go to the camp southeast from it, the one at the lake/river. That camp has 5 enemies of which 2 armoured and has 2 alarm stations. Walk around it and you'll spot the first one fairly easy. Turn it off and take higher ground from the building right next to it. Shoot the alarm then and after that just take the 5 enemies down. It's the easiest town I've spotted so far (but i'm not even halfway through the game XD)

easiest 100% on a game ever there is a mission were you have to be stealthy and you fail if you dont do it. i just got the bow and put a silencer on the bow and took them out from range. shame that the dlc is a ps3 exclusive.

I got it randomly after selling two tradeable items in the Badtown General Store. It autosaved, then i manually saved, and quit to main menu, and it popped...

I did the very first outpost full stealth and even got the "unheard" bonus.. but i didnt get the cheevo.. which is bullshit.. i got the xp tho.. it should be automatic.. xp bonus pops up so should the achievement.. thought i'd knock this out right away but obviously you cant.. hopefully this is noted so no one else wastes their time trying.

Well, I actually got that achievement too just by letting a tiger maul all of them in a outpost and I just sat in the bushes and saw it happen. I got lucky that it happened for me at the right time.

Got this by using the bow for the four chargers and normals, then by sneaking up on the sniper in the roof last afterwards as i always know where he'll be.

Mosquito yard with the sniper rifle. Take out their sniper, hide. Open the tiger`s cage with another shot.have the tiger help you distract and kill the remaining three guards.

I lol'ed when I got this achievement.

If you liberate all outposts without doing this, under the options menu, you can reset them.

I picked this up the stealth way the first time.

A tiger appeared from the jungle at another, and the guys started dying. I looked out and all the guys were dead, but their dog saw me. So the dog charged me, with the tiger chasing the dog. I shot the dog, it cut to the flag raising and I got the bonus (the tiger vanished).

Also have been getting this by sniping everyone with a silencer. Even when they notice the bodies it doesn't effect detection. Although once a charger did run straight towards me- I moved out quickly and hit him with a shotgun and it still counted.
