Introduction
Farming Simulator is an easy, but time consuming game to max out. Most of your time will be spent driving your extremely slow vehicles around in a relatively small area. The Farming Simulator franchise has been around a while on the PC, and is relatively popular. Anybody familiar with the series will know what they are dealing with; but for those that don't, there seems to be a lot to take in as there are different types of farming, dozens of vehicles and tons of ways to make money. If you are playing for the achievements though, you will only be focusing on growing and harvesting one crop, so there is hardly anything to learn.

Step 1
Start up a new game and knock out the "Financial Folly" achievement.

Step 1.5
The most grindy achievement in this game is "Very Frequent Driver" for driving a total of 1000km (621.37 miles), so make sure when you are not doing anything, be it waiting for crops to grow, building up your finances, etc, just drive. Unlike the harvesting and sowing achievements, these miles have to be done by yourself, workers miles do not count.

Step 2
Start up a new game on the Hagenstedt map and start your grind towards the full 1000. Set the mission frequency to the smallest value (2 minutes) and then go for the horseshoe collectibles. Don't do any farming yet, it only makes sense once you have enough money to buy the most expensive vehicles.

All collectibles in the game are on the Hagenstedt map, make sure you start your game on this one. While picking them up, accept all mission requests where you need to mow the lawn for the golf club. Drive your starting tractor with the blue cultivator to the golf club and leave it there once you have done the first side mission. Every time such a mission comes up, you only need to accept it, switch to the vehicle and drive around for a few minutes. To make it even quicker, you can drive a vehicle to the camp in the top right corner of the map. That is the other location for lawnmower missions. I strongly recommend to decline the transport missions as they are a lot more difficult to complete and take longer as well. Whenever a mission comes up to mow the lawn at the golf course, go and do that. You can use  and  to cycle through your vehicles at anytime to pick up where you left off on the collectibles.

Once you have all horseshoes find the $1,000,000 pot of gold lying at the end of the rainbow as described in the "Pots of Gold" achievement description. In the same description you will also find the quickest way to grind to $10,000,000 using wind turbines. Getting up to $10,000,000 will be pretty easy to do by the time you have finished the other achievements, although feel free to leave your Xbox running to build up vast finances.

Step 3
Buy yourself the equipment recommended in the solution for "Harvest King". You will have two tractors with sowing machines, two harvesters and a truck with a trailer. Buy field #1, and set to work on it. You will need roughly ten full cycles of sowing, growing and harvesting on this field to get all four of the sowing/harvesting achievements as it is roughly 10 hectares in size.

Step 4
All you should have left to do now is drive your remaining kilometers. If you have not fully paid back your loan, then do this now, you should have more than enough cash. It is up to you whether you want to drive the miles yourself, possibly falling asleep at the low speeds, or rubberband your controller so that your vehicle drives in circles. Once you have hit the magic number, your final achievement will pop and you will have your 1000

Conclusion
Farming Simulator appears to be a very in depth farming...simulator. I'm sure if you decided to play it as the developers intended, you could spend weeks or months playing it as there are a lot of options, vehicles and ways to play the game. From a purely achievements stance, it is a relatively easy 1000, albeit a lengthy one.

There are 16 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Your account has reached more than $1 million.

    See "Pots of Gold".

  • There is more than $5 million in your account.

    See "Pots of Gold".

  • Your wealth has surpassed $10 million.

Once you have all 100 horseshoes, set the time to 120x and wait until it starts to rain. Once it stops raining, a rainbow will appear. Now set the time back to 5x, so that you have enough time to search for the end of the rainbow where you will find your first $1,000,000 in the form of a pot of gold.

Your first million you should invest in a wind turbine. It costs $1.2 million, but makes you $4,000 an hour. If you set the time again to 120x you will have your next $1.2 million in approximately real life 3 hours. Use the money to buy another turbine and repeat the process. You can also get a fourth turbine if you want, but three is possibly enough to collect the money in the background while you work on the other grinds. If you have a wired controller, it is a good idea to leave the game for a few hours, although with 3 or more turbines you will have well over $10 million once you finish the rest of the grinding achievements.

  • You paid back the entire bank loan.

If you want it the quickest way, start up the game, switch to the tractor standing by the shop, get out of the vehicle and go to the ATM. Now press  to access the shop, sell all your stuff, then press  at the ATM and  to repay the 50k loan. When you exit the ATM the achievement unlocks.

  • You have covered more than 100 kilometers with vehicles.

    See "Very Frequent Driver".

  • Your total driving distance has increased to over 1000 kilometers.

Whereas "Harvest King" and "Mass Production" count the amount your workers sow and cultivate for you, the driving distance is all on you. 1000 kilometers equates to 621.37 miles (miles are show on the PDA, page 2 of statistics). Drive whenever you can, while you are waiting for crops to grow, harvesters to harvest, etc; just drive. The fastest vehicle in the game is the Lizard Truck which you can find under miscellaneous in the shop. It will go over 50mph top speed which is much faster than anything else. This will most likely be the last achievement you need, so rubberbanding (or whatever method you use to rig your controller) may be an option. Set cruise control at level 3 ( x 3) and drive round in circles). A full tank of fuel will get you around 77 miles, so you will need to check back periodically to make sure you haven't run out of fuel.

  • Your playing time in a single savegame has reached over 10 hours.

Simply play on one savegame for 10 hours. You will definitely get this whilst going for the rest of the achievements.

  • You have harvested more than 10 hectares.

You will get this achievement on the way to harvesting 100 hectares for "Harvest King".

  • You have harvested more than 100 hectares.

Sowing and harvesting will probably be the last, most time consuming achievements in the game. I strongly recommend to only start working on these once you have all horseshoes and the $10 million out of the way. Then you have enough money to buy the most expensive farming equipment that makes the grind less painful.

Make sure that you are planting Canola, as you do not need to cultivate the land after harvest/before sowing. This will make the process quicker and cheaper, as you are skipping a step and saving money on cultivation equipment.

    Buy the following vehicles:
    - 2 Case IH Axial-Flow 9230 harvesters with Case 3020 Cutters
    - 2 Buhrer 6135A tractors with AMAZONE Condor 15001 Sowing Machines
    - Lizard Truck with Kroger Agroliner SRB3-35 tipper

Note: You probably will not be able to afford this straight away, so either buy one of each for now and buy more later, or turn the game time to x120 and with income from your wind turbines you will have enough cash for all of it in next to no time.

Go and buy the land marked with 1 on your map. This is optimal as it is big (more than 10 hectares) and has a spot nearby where you can sell your harvested grains. Turn your game speed down to x1 or x5 (so that the time you sow your whole field isn't as long time/date wise as if speed was at 120x, and it will ripen around the same time. Start your sowing vehicle on one side, get a worker to drive for you with , set the growth rate to max and wait until you can harvest. Once the whole field is sown you can turn the game speed back up to maximum. When the canola is ready (turns a golden brown colour), switch the speed back to x1 or x5 and begin your harvest. Harvesting is a lot slower than sowing, so you should have two harvesters working on different parts of the field (on opposing corners of the field; both should be driven by a hired worker. Once your harvesters reach 100% capacity they will stop. You need to empty the harvest into a truck.

Buy yourself a Lizard Truck and trailer. This is the largest, and you will want the lizard truck to clock up miles while your workers are doing their thing. Pull the truck next to the harvester, and their pipe will come out and deposit the harvest into your truck. You can sell your product at the dock at the north, simply go into the loading bay and press  when prompted.

Make sure that your vehicles never disturb each other. The AI show no sign of intelligence, so if you have two harvesters or tractors on a field, they will just stop until you take control of one of them and move them out of the way. You'll want to keep an eye on them to make sure this doesn't happen. If you are bored you can take a vehicle for yourself and start harvesting, but most of the time you will be busy coordinating your three vehicles plus the truck.

After long hours of work you will unlock the grind achievements for sowing, and harvesting in this order. If you are working solely on field #1, this will take around 10 full processes.

Note that you can only have three workers at any one time. If you decide to try and speed up the process by purchasing more vehicles or land, you will either have to work them yourself or wait until a worker has finished the task they are currently on.

  • Sower

    50

You have sown more than 10 hectares.

You will unlock this achievement on the way to sowing 100 hectares for "Mass Production".

  • The total area sown by you exceeds 100 hectares.

Use the solution for "Harvest King" for this one.

  • You have found 25 horseshoes.

    See "The Collector".

  • You have found 50 horseshoes.

    See "The Collector".

  • You have found all 100 horseshoes.

Here is a link to a guide to all horseshoes. The guide was created for the PC, but the locations are the same. All horseshoes are located on the Hagenstedt map.

To see how many horseshoes you have collected so far, go into your PDA and go to page 2 of statistics. Here is a video as well for visual representation:

Some of the horseshoes are in high areas. For most of these, you can get there by driving your tractor up there, but it is much easier to get out and walk. Your guy can pretty much climb mountains if you continually jump (), and you can avoid getting your vehicle stuck. For the horseshoes on top of buildings, use your Buhrer 6135A (the green tractor that you start with) as a stepping stone to get on the roofs.

Every time you pick up a horseshoe there is a small sound and a horseshoe icon on the left side of the screen. Use these to make sure you have picked up the objects. There is nothing more annoying than having to start looking for ones that you have found but somehow failed to pick up. As the game does not autosave, saving from time to time is also strongly recommended.

  • You have completed 50 missions.

The easiest missions are the ones where you need to mow the lawn. Set the mission frequency to 2 minutes and accept the lawn mowing missions only. If you leave your vehicle on the golf course on the bottom right corner of the map and only focus on the missions on that course, you only need to switch to the vehicle after having accepted the mission. Later on you could also buy another vehicle and park it in the camp (top right corner of the map), that is where the other missions of the same type need to be completed. Your starting tractor with the blue cultivator (a Lemken Kristall 9) attached to is actually a great vehicle to use for cutting grass as it is quick and works clean. Once you have the spare cash, invest in one or two Krone BiG M 500s for $349,500 a piece. These are the most expensive mower, but will make light work of the mowing missions. My record was about 10 seconds. You can sell them once you have done all 50 missions if you still need the cash.

Of course you can also try the other missions that require you to transport objects. Though they are all easily doable once you get the hang of it, they require more skill, earn you less money and take longer to complete.

  • You managed to reach a negative balance on your very first day.

Start up the game. Buy things from the shop by pressing  or go to the closest ATM (one of your vehicles will be standing by the shop, switch to that vehicle, get out and walk to the machine) and repay your loan. When you are down to a few $100's just set the time to 120x and when your account balance goes negative the achievement pops.
