Awesome Drift

Earn a perfect Drift score.

Earn 5000 points in a single drift. Easiest thing is to go on the Catalunya School Circuit with a car that has a little over 500hp and preferably tuned for drift. You should be able to search the Marketplace for a free drift tune, or there are some cars that you can use like a Pontiac GTO or Shelby Daytona that actually drift quite well.

my god that achievement was hard. heres how i did it
go buy a drift tune up from the store front (mine was for the '99 honda civic and the tune up was named "achievement plz")
go to the indy 500 oval track and pick up lots of speed and in one of the turns, hold or tap a however you do it better and it takes 5000 points to get 4/4 drift
(turn drift points by pausing the game, go to HUD, and at the bottom turn drift hud on

As the comment above says make sure you turn on the drift points from the hud options so you can keep an eye on the score, as long as its over 5000 you'll get it, doesn't have to be in one drift, linking them together to gradually reach 5000 is another option. Personally i did it by just switching traction off and picking a powerful car (Corvette ZR1 in this case) and just drifting round go old Fujumi Kaido :)

I was getting between 2.5/3k on rivals and then went on here an got 19k
first drift as you can not crash! Its beautiful. Cheers

Track: Test track Benchmark Layout "e" (reverse or regular)

Braking: "ABS Off"
Steering: "Normal"
Stability Control: "Off"
Traction Control: "Off"
Shifting: "Automatic"

- Free Play game
- Hot Lap
- Car: Ford Mustang Boss 429
- Turn off traction control and stability control
- Track: Benchmark Speedway Layout E
- Before the race go to HUD options
- Turn on Drift Score
- Go to race!
- You need 5000 drift points or more.

Tuesday, November 15, 2011 @ 09:49:19 PM

This worked for me on the first try: go to free play, take the Veyron 16.4 out in the hot lap, go to test track benchmark Speedway Reverse, accelerate to 200 mph (320 kph). Once you hit the straightaway, keep the car in the centre of the track and start braking (at a faster speed you score more drift points). Then start drifting left and right, keeping the car going forward and off the walls.

Monday, November 21, 2011 @ 01:00:21 PM

really isn't that tough.. you only have to get 5000 drift points. so turn on the drift HUD and drift.
i did it with a A4 Touring Car on the Nordschleife

Tuesday, December 06, 2011 @ 11:54:13 AM

I hate drifting with a burning passion but I did this achievement in a 1996 Honda Civic on The Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the giant oval version of it. I found it was best to get drift points on the third turn in the track for some reason. I was using a drift setup from the storefront and I had traction control off but I had Stability and ABD on and the driver line was on braking only. Oh, and I was driving automatic.

Use saleen S7 and quick upgrade it turn your stability off (since it's practically useless) go to maple valley reverse course or sedona speed way, on a long and tight left right turns maintain your drift without colliding or spinning out no matter your transmission is, just maintain the screech of your tyres, and keep left and right of your joystick and you should get a perfect drift when you exit them long turns, i done this on sedona speedway and maple valley just use a car that has best speed and poor handling like saleen s7 or any ford car since they drift more.

Choose a manual RWD car, speed up, change into second then start fish tailing at full revs. I did this in an MX-5 on Benchmark E. Like the others have already said, you want ABS, ESC and TCS off, normal steering is ok, full line is useful as is rewind incase you lose contol before you reach 5000.

Friday, January 20, 2012 @ 07:10:24 PM

I did this with a drift-tuned AE86, the car is amazing for drifting and a drift tune isn't exactly essential, just beef it up on power and hit the indy 500 track, you should be able to hit 5000 points in a single turn with a 1 or 2 drift chain, this car makes it easy to do, if you need to, give yourself a few laps drifting the track to get the feel of how your car is handling going sideways and also to learn a good speed to hit the corners at so you wont hit the walls with too much speed or kick the tail end out far enough you find yourself in the grass or doing a full 360. Not a challenging achievement, at least not after you know how the drift rating works, make sure to put your drift points on your HUD from the start menu though

I got it using a Corvette ZR-1 at the Benchmark Layout E.

Its easy because you can use the large area, and if you did it wrong you can use Y to try again. When I did it, the game added my new drift with the old one, so... over 5000!!!

@ #29 I just did that and was about to post it. The person who suggested this originally was a genius. ( For those who just go straight to the bottom of this list without reading the others. I found this on a different website, and after 2-3 minutes of getting to grips with the ..grip.. hehe I got the achievement.

Nothing compared to the 100,000 lap achieve from FM3. Just do Rival mode. Go into the drift mode and do Fujumi Kaldo with the Toyota Tuneo(I think). Make sure TCS and STS are off.

For those like me who haven't downloaded the dlc with the Benchmark track, I just took the S13 Silvia, bumped her up to A Class, and went to Indy as suggested above. Traction control off, built speed through turns 1 and 2, and down the backstretch, then cut hard left entering turn 3, hit A fairly hard then went back and forth tapping the E-brake and hitting the throttle. a lil over 6K before i even exited the corner. Just try to stay in the middle of the track. The rear end will jump out and slapp the wall pretty easily if you're not careful lol. Happened to me twice before I got the timing and the balance right.
