Introduction
Gears of War 2 is nothing like the time sink that Gears 1 turned out to be. There are still a few achievements that will require some grinding, but they are quite easier this time around. Now, I estimate 60-80 hours, but it may go much faster depending on how you do things. Getting Seriously 2.0 can take as little as 18 hours if you do nothing but Brumak your ass off, then you will need two plays of the campaign at 6-10 hours each and then all the public match achievements could take a very long time if you don't have a good team and get unlucky matches with crappy randoms. So, this time will vary depending on your skill level.

Step 1: Co-Op Campaign + Collectibles
Grab a collectible guide and a friend, then start your campaign on any difficulty (Insane will not be available yet). Obviously Casual will go the quickest, but I did mine on Hardcore for a challenge. After this you will have all the campaign achievements, co-op achievements and collectible achievements.

Step 2: Insane Difficulty
Remember that friend you had? See if you can grab him again. Either go through together on Insane, or have your friend be on Casual which will allow him to lead you Rambo-style through the game extremely fast.

Step 3: Local Matches
All of the achievements that say "(any mode)" on the end of them can be done through Local matches against bots or another "human" player which will just be a dead controller than you move when necessary. Go through all the weapon achievements/executions/etc. using this method.

Step 4: Public Matches + Horde Mode
Now here is the first real challenge. You will want a full group of friends or people from the forums looking for these achievements, as communication is key. You might get lucky and win every single match or get every single capture, but chances are you're looking at a few days worth of playing for these.

Step 5: Seriously 2.0 + Party Like it's 1999
Now you need to grind out the two longest achievements in the game. Use the Brumak method mentioned in the guide below to finish off Seriously 2.0 (which as I mentioned can be done no faster than 18 hours, more like 22) and then leave your game running while you're asleep or at school/work for the 1999 rounds played.

Boosting Partners
If you are looking for a group to boost with, head on over to the Achievement Trading Thread to find partners to play with for the horde and other multiplayer related achievements.

DLC
There are 5 DLCs available for Gears of War 2. Getting through all of the DLC will take you quite a bit of time and a lot of grinding through for the Horde and getting to Rank 100.

Combustible Map Pack
You can get The Roof! The Roof! The Roof!... and Forged In The Fire by playing locally with two controllers. Start a local multiplayer game with your second controller as your opponent with a 1 kill limit, and kill them on the relevant map. Trial By, and On, Fire can be done alone, but as with all horde games, it is easier as a team. Use the Achievement Trading Thread to find some allies. The only achievement from this DLC you will need to play online for is Annex: Now With Execution Rules. These are public matches, so you can still play with your friends.

Flashback Map Pack
You can do all of these on your own if you like, but the horde mode achievement (Skeletons in your Closet) will be easier with a group. You need to get to stage 10 on all 5 of the Flashback maps, which may pose more problems than the three from the Combustible pack. More Mystery, Less History can be done locally with two controllers. Again, this is done by putting your other controller on the other team and killing them once on the relevant map. Bound by a Shared Past requires you to win in the Wingman game type. It is pretty simple to win against casual bots, but you can add extra controllers to make life easier if you need to.

Game Title Update
This DLC introduced the ranking mode for online mutiplayer. The achievements are for reaching ranks 5, 15 and 25, and you will get these while going for other achievements. You will need a total of 82884 XP to get to level 25, and XP is gained on any multiplayer game type.

Snowblind Map Pack
Frigid Body Dynamics and The Weather Outside is Lethal can be done locally with two controllers using the same method as in the Combustible and Flashback packs. You will benefit from finding friends to do the horde mode achievements to get Icy Dead People and Never Eat Red Snow. You will need to reach level 50 and 100 respectively to unlock Battle Hardened Gear and Veteran Gear. If you get to the relative levels, you can again use the 2 controller method. However it is more than likely you will have played these while trying to get your wings.

Dark Corners Map Pack
This DLC also contains an extra level, a deleted scene called Road to Ruin. You will need to run through this twice, one using stealth and again going guns blazing to unlock My Way or the Highway and Highway to Hell. Doing this in co-op will get you Two for the Road. You can get Afraid of the Dark and Did Not Go Gentle locally with two controllers. The rest of the achievements need you to get to certain waves of maps on Horde while being at a certain rank. You will want your wingmen for these!

Conclusion
Gears of War 2 is a long old slog to 1000 and even longer to get the full 1750. It is rightly so one of the most popular games to grace the Xbox, so there are not too many games worthy of having so many hours pumped into them. Happy killing...

See "Suicide Missionary" for more information.

  • Complete all campaign acts on Hardcore Difficulty

    (6)

See "Suicide Missionary" for more information.

  • Complete all campaign acts on Insane Difficulty

    (146)

To unlock Insane difficulty you will have to first beat the game on Casual, Normal or Hardcore. Beating the game on a difficulty will also unlock any lower difficulty, so starting on Hardcore will unlock Casual and Normal, then you will need to play through a second time for the Insane achievement. If you have a friend willing to, playing co-op with one person on Casual and the other on Insane makes it go very quickly as the person on Casual can just mow everything down while you (on Insane) just stay in cover and take it easy.

    Tips:

    • Play co-op. Not only will this get you those achievements at the same time, but you will have much better help than the AI will give. Unless your friend sucks, of course.
    • Go slow, cover often. The most deaths I've had on Insane have been from messing around and going for chainsaws or trying to move up too quickly. Take your time and get in cover shortly after taking damage so your health can recharge.
    • Make very good use of the Longshot sniper rifle. Headshots are one-hit kills on everything but the Kantus priests and Boomer enemies, and beast-type enemies like Reavers.
    • Conserve ammo. Wretches can be killed easily with a melee hit so try not to waste your ammo on them if possible. Don't spend all your lancer ammo on an enemy you can barely see either. If you have an easy chainsaw opportunity, take it. Coordinate with your co-op partner and distract enemies to get in behind for chainsaws.

Note: You can get all the "story progression" achievements on any difficulty including Casual, and in solo or co-op.

Warning: Make sure you are personally set to Insane or you will not get this achievement. A friend can join and play on Casual to help you get it easier (let them do all the work) but only you on Insane will get the achievement. Your friend on Casual will not. Also, if at any time you play in single player on Casual (to boost kills for Serioiusly 2.0 or look for collectbiles) be sure to double-check your difficulty when going back to your co-op game. It may have set itself to Casual and you won't get credit for any work you're doing toward this achievement. If the game seems easy when playing on Insane, you might not be on Insane!

  • Recover 5 collectibles (any difficulty)

    (2)

    See "Completionist" for more info.

  • Recover 20 collectibles (any difficulty)

    See "Completionist" for more info.

  • Recover all 41 collectibles (any difficulty)

    (15)

Use this thread to find all the collectibles in the game. As soon as you pick something up, it will be saved into your War Journal once you back out to the main menu. You do not have to hit a new checkpoint for it to save. You can check which ones you are missing from your War Journal and simply load those chapters on Casual for anything you may have missed.

Note: In co-op, if one person picks something up, you both get credit for it.

  • Complete 1 chapter in co-op on any difficulty (Marcus or Dom)

    (7)

See "Friends With Benefits" for more info.

  • Complete 10 chapters in co-op on any difficulty (Marcus or Dom)

    (5)

See "Friends With Benefits" for more info.

  • Complete all acts in co-op on any difficulty (Marcus or Dom)

    (122)

I would suggest coupling this with your Insane difficulty run as this will make it much easier. If for some reason you have to do this out of order, that will not affect the achievement. You do not have to be the second player like in the first game, both players will get these achievements. Training Carmine at the beginning of the game is required for this achievement.

  • Perform 30 perfect active reloads (any mode)

    (9)

An active reload is performed by hitting RB to reload your gun, then hitting RB again while the sliding bar is in the small white space along the reload bar. This reloads faster and gives a damage boost. You should be doing this all the time anyway so this won't be much work. This image says it all:

  • Melee 30 Tickers (any mode)

    (8)

Tickers are the small scampering creatures that run up to you, shake, then explode. They stand still in front of you for a second or two before exploding, so just let them run to you and whack them by hitting B (not with your lancer though, this will chainsaw). There are plenty of these in Act 1, Chapter 5. Reload the same checkpoint until you get the achievement if need be.

  • Kill 30 enemies with a cover mounted Mulcher (any mode)

    (7)

The Mulcher is a heavy turret-type gun. For these kills, you will need to have it equipped, take cover by pressing A near a low wall, hold LT to mount the gun and RT to shoot it at your second controller player. Simply shooting with RT does not count as you are carrying it, not mounting it.

For this and any other weapon achievement, if you don't get all your kills in the campaign, the easiest way to get the rest is to setup a Local Multiplayer match with a second controller (or nine bots) and change all the guns to whichever one you need. This will be referred to as the "Organ Grinder method of boosting" in many following achievements.

  • Kill 30 enemies with the heavy Mortar (any mode)

    (3)

The mortar is another heavy weapon with a long tube that will rain down fireballs when shot. You will need to hold LT to aim and press RT to shoot it off (hold RT to shoot further). You can use the method described in "Organ Grinder" to unlock this as well.

  • Kill 10 enemies with a planted grenade (any mode)

    (10)

Use the same method as for "Organ Grinder" but with this you will need to use Frag or Ink grenades. Grab some and "plant" them in a wall by hitting B to melee the wall. This turns it into a proximity mine. Move your second controller character near the frag-in-the-wall and he should die no problem with a Frag, it may take some weakening for an Ink to do the job though.

  • Melee 10 enemies down with the Boomshield equipped (any mode)

    (6)

The Boomshield is first seen in the campaign carried by Boomer-esque enemies with a giant flail called Maulers. Once they die you can pick it up with . It will shield you extremely well, allowing you to get in close to enemies. Once in close, use to melee them down with your pistol. Can be done using the "Organ Grinder" method as well.

  • Kill 30 enemies with the Scorcher Flamethrower (any mode)

    (7)

The scorcher is yet another heavy weapon, first found in the COG facility in the campaign. There are a large number of wretches in this facility which will die quickly in the fire. Can be done using the "Organ Grinder" method as well.

  • Kill an enemy with every weapon in the game (any mode)

    (16)

You will need to use 15 different weapons for this achievement. Use the same method as for "Organ Grinder" to get anything you didn't use in the campaign.

    1. Boltok Pistol (Locust)
    2. Snub Pistol (COG)
    3. Gorgon Pistol (Rapid-Fire)
    4. Hammerburst (Locust Assault Rifle)
    5. Lancer (COG Assault Rifle)
    6. Boomshot
    7. Shotgun
    8. Hammer of Dawn
    9. Longshot Sniper Rifle
    10. Torque Bow
    11. Mortar Launcher
    12. Mulcher Chain-gun
    13. Scorcher Flamethrower
    14. Frag Grenade
    15. Ink Grenade

The Ink Grenade and Hammer of Dawn are almost always the last ones people need. For the Ink kill, it will take two to kill an enemy. Chances are if you think you got it but are still at 14/15, they bled out instead of dying from the Ink. Try tagging them with one and throwing another at their crawling body.

  • Kill 100,000 enemies (any mode)

    (122)

This may seem like a larger task than the first game, but it really isn't. This includes all kills from the campaign, Horde mode, or multiplayer (ranked, unranked, local, system link). To get this insanely fast, first do all your other achievements, then load one of two points in the campaign:

Act 1, Chapter 4 (Tip of the Spear, The Big Push)
Get on the turret and blast away the Locust spilling out of the ground, then reload your checkpoint and repeat.

Act 5, Chapter 5 (Aftermath, Closure)
Using the Brumak, blow up the two squads of Locust coming toward you, then reload your checkpoint and repeat.

It is pretty much for sure that the Brumak method is faster, but do whichever one you like better, or switch between the two for some variety. Reportedly 12-16 hours total if you do nothing but boost for it. You should have almost 5k by the time you finish two plays of the campaign and all your Public match achievements and Horde mode though.

WARNING: Your progress will not fully save until you go back to the main menu. Do not simply shut off your Xbox or join an online match before doing so or all kills will be lost.

  • Win 3 matches of Wingman (public)

Wingman is a gametype of two-player teams fighting to the death. The winner is the first team to get 15 points, giving one point for each kill and another point for being the surviving team for the round (only one person has to live but all other teams must be dead). I would suggest getting a good co-op partner and working on these, or just search for a match and hope for a good partner. If you're really bad, it is only three wins so just keep at it and you'll get it eventually. Must be done in a Public Xbox Live match.

  • Capture 10 meatflags in Submission (public)

You will need the Submission game mode for these. The meatflag is a human that will need to be downed, grabbed and dragged back to the base of capture. He will fight back until downed and you will have the other team trying to stop you, so get a good team around you to help. Must be done in a Public Xbox Live match.

  • Win 10 rounds of Guardian as the leader (public)

Guardian is what used to be called Assassination. However, now the other team will spawn until the leader is killed. If both teams are playing defense, the games will go on forever, so find a good offensive team (but stay toward the back of them if you're the leader) and go hunt the enemy leader. You must be the leader for these wins so this will take a bit longer. Must be done in a Public Xbox Live match.

The first round a leader will be chosen at random, then to become the leader you will need to either be the one to kill the opposing team's leader, or the person on your team with the most overall points if you lose the round and their leader lives. You can't be leader twice in a row, even if you kill their leader while you are leader. In this case leader will go to the person with the most points. If you are the leader, have most points and have killed their leader, it will go to the person on your team with the second most points.

  • Win three matches of King of the Hill (public)

Again, getting a good team together is key for these. To win King of the Hill, your team will need to take over the objective ring and get your score up to whatever the goal is before the other team can. Must be done in a Public Xbox Live match. This is by far the easiest one of the Public achievements.

  • Successfully complete the 5 lessons of multiplayer Training Grounds

From the main menu, select "Training Grounds" and simply complete all five tutorials.

  • Play 1999 rounds of multiplayer (any mode)

    (28)

I would first suggest finishing off all the achievements that require public matches since those rounds played will go toward this. Once you're done with all those, get all the weapon/execution achievements (if boosting those by yourself) as those will also count. Now the easiest way to get the remaining round played is to setup a match with the following settings:

    • Match Type: Local
    • Game Type: Warzone (or Execution)
    • Total Rounds: 15
    • Round Time Limit: 1
    • Number Of Bots: 1 (or 9)
    • Bot Difficulty: Casual
    • Bleed-Out Time: 60
    • Friendly Fire: Off
    • Map Selection: Host
    • Weapon Spawning: Customize (Mulcher for all)
    • Map: Day One

Now you will need to have either a wired controller, Plug n' Play recharge kit or a guitar/drums controller. This way your controller will not shut off and the game will keep going. Because of the short time and large map, the bot (if using only one) probably won't find you before the one minute runs out, which will end the round in a stalemate. If for any reason he does find you, that is only one win out of fifteen that he needs, but it won't happen often. You might question the use of the Mulcher as the weapon, but this way if he chooses to pick it up, he will move much slower and take that much longer to find you. If you try the nine bot method, the two teams shouldn't have enough time to kill the entire other team. Again, whichever works best for you.

  • Win a multiplayer match on each map (any mode)

You will need to win on ten maps to get this. Can be done using the "Organ Grinder" boosting method.

    • Avalanche
    • Blood Drive
    • Day One
    • Hail
    • Jancinto
    • Pavilion
    • River
    • Ruins
    • Security
    • Stasis
  • Survive the first 10 waves of Horde (any difficulty, any map)

    (5)

See "Hoard the Horde" for more info.

  • Survive all 50 waves of Horde (any difficulty, any map)

    (92)

This can be done on Casual and should be if you're just looking to get the achievement. You can also do it with up to five people over Xbox Live which is also suggested. You have to finish every wave at some point, though they can be done in any order and at any time. You do not have to do all 50 in one sitting as you can start at the highest wave you completed previously.

If for some reason you were invited to multiple games and your achievement tracker shows xx/50 waves and you don't know which you missed, hosting a game and looking at the "wave start" section should help you find which one you're missing. The list will only show waves that you have completed.

  • Win 10 chainsaw duels (any mode)

    (9)

A chainsaw duel will occur if you and an opponent both have your chainsaws raised at the same time when you run into each other. From there, you will need to tap B faster than your opponent to win the duel and kill him. Can be done during campaign or any multiplayer mode, as well as using the "Organ Grinder" method.

  • Kill 10 enemies with a grenade while down but not out (any mode)

    (10)

This is best done using the "Organ Grinder" method of boosting. First grab some Frag grenades with your profile (can't use the starting grenade, it doesn't kill) and equip them by hitting Up on the D-pad. Then use your second controller to knock you down. Move in close with the second controller and an explosion icon will appear on the bottom of your profile's screen. Hit with your profile and you will set off the grenade you were holding, killing both players.

  • Use a meatshield to save your life 10 times (any mode)

    (7)

First you will need to take a hostage by downing someone and hitting A to pick them up as a shield. From there, you will need to use that shield to survive an attack that would otherwise kill you. The easiest way to get this is to tag the downed opponent with a grenade, then quickly pick them up. The grenade will explode, blowing up the meatshield but leaving you intact. Use the "Organ Grinder" boosting method for this as well.

  • Submit a spectator photo

In any multplayer match (or the training exercises), when you die you will be in photo mode. Press at any time to take a picture. Then go back to the main menu and into your War Journal. Select "photos" and press on any of them to upload.

  • Perform all 11 unique executions on a downed enemy

    (22)

When an enemy is "downed" they have taken too much damage and fall to their knees/crawl away. You will need to use a variety of weapons to get all 11 executions, some having two different ones depending on the button used.

    1. Torque Bow -
    2. Torque Bow -
    3. Longshot -
    4. Longshot -
    5. Boltok Pistol -
    6. Shotgun -
    7. Neck Snap - to pick them up, then
    8. Curb Stomp - (any gun)
    9. 1 2 3 Punch - (gun not on this list)
    10. Boomshield -
    11. Lancer -

DLC: Combustible Map Pack

There are 4 achievements with a total of 125 points

  • Survive first 10 Horde waves on Combustible Map Pack maps as a team

    (21)

As described, you only need to complete the first ten waves of each CMP map in Horde mode, not the entire run. This can be done on Casual with any number of people (despite it saying "as a team" you can do this alone). The maps are:

    • Flood
    • Gold Rush
    • Fuel Station

The Combustible Map Pack can be pruchased through the marketplace for 800MSP.

  • Win a multiplayer match on each of the 3 Combustible Map Pack maps (any mode except Wingman)

Use the same method as for "More Mystery, Less History" except with the CMP maps this time.

  • Win a Wingman match on each of the 3 Combustible Map Pack maps

Use the same method as for "Bound By a Shared Past" but with this CMP maps this time.

  • Win an Annex match on each Flashback and Combustible Map Pack map (public matches only)

This is the only difficult DLC achievement as it requires Public Matches, not Local like the others. You will need to win an Annex match on ALL the maps included in BOTH DLC packs. Annex is a team game so you have a greater chance of success. Find some friends that will help so you can communicate better. To win you need to capture and hold certain areas around the map. It is much like KOTH except the capture spot will move during the game. The full list of maps is as follows:

    • Flood
    • Gold Rush
    • Fuel Station
    • Gridlock
    • Subway
    • Canals
    • Mansion
    • Tyro Station

You will either need to spend 800 or 1200MSP for this achievement, depending on if you purchased a NEW copy of the game and got the FMP for free.

Note: Both sets of maps have their own playlist in the Public Match section, so choose one and finish all the maps, then switch to the other. Again, having a team with you will help so you can all vote for Annex games and the correct maps.

DLC: Flashback Map Pack

There are 3 achievements with a total of 50 points

  • Complete waves 1 through 10 on all Flashback Map Pack maps in Horde (any difficulty)

    (28)

As described, you only need to complete the first ten waves of each FMP map in Horde mode, not the entire run. This can be done on Casual with any number of people. The maps are:

    • Gridlock
    • Subway
    • Canals
    • Mansion
    • Tyro Station

These maps can be obtained for free if you purchase a NEW copy of GOW2, or purchased for 400MSP through the  Marketplace.

  • Win a multiplayer match on each of the 5 Flashback Map Pack maps (any mode except Wingman)

The quickest and easiest way to do this is with the following settings:

    • Match Type: Local
    • Game Mode: Warzone
    • Goal Score: 1
    • Bots: 1
    • Bot Difficulty: Casual

Simply run across the map and kill the other person. If for some reason you're having trouble killing one casual bot, feel free to use a second controller. See "Skeletons in Your Closet" for the maps needed.

  • Win a Wingman match on each of the 5 Flashback Map Pack maps

The quickest and easiest way to do this is with the following settings:

    • Match Type: Local
    • Game Mode: Wingman
    • Goal Score: 10
    • Bots: 9
    • Bot Difficulty: Casual

You need at least two teams, but nine bots is best since the target score is 10. Again, simply kill the other teams. See "Standing Here, Beside Myself" for Wingman rules and tips. If for some reason you're having trouble killing the casual bots, feel free to use extra controllers. See "Skeletons in Your Closet" for the maps needed.

DLC: Game Title Update

There are 3 achievements with a total of 60 points

  • Earn enough multiplayer experience to reach level 5 (Public only)

    (7)

See "Battle-Tested Gear" for more info.

  • Earn enough multiplayer experience to reach level 15 (Public only)

    (1)

See "Battle-Tested Gear" for more info.

  • Earn enough multiplayer experience to reach level 25 (Public only)

    (3)

After Title Update 3, a new ranking system will award experience for positive performance in Public matches (kills, captures, etc). However, you will lose experience if you quit out of matches. These first three achievements can be earned without any paid DLC for simply climbing the ranks to level 25 by doing well in Public matches.

DLC: Snowblind Map Pack

There are 6 achievements with a total of 190 points

  • Reach level 50 and play a match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (Public only)

    (21)

In addition to gaining more levels up to level 50, you will also need to download the Snowblind Map Pack (800 MSP) and at least play one match on each of the four maps in Public games. You do not have to win these games.

These two requirements can be done in either order.

  • Reach level 100 and win a match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (Public only)

    (502)

Again you will need to climb in rank, but you will also need to win a match on each of the four Snowblind maps in Public games. You can earn all the rest of your experience on other maps if you don't like the Snowblind maps.

The fastest way to rank up will most likely be different for everyone. Each gametype is scaled by degree of ease in getting points, awarding only a percentage of the total points earned as actual experience, except Warzone which is a 100% conversion and Wingman which actually has a 109% conversion. The guide here will show you the full breakdown of which games give what percentage, from there pick the one you are best at that has the best percentage to rank up the quickest for yourself. My favorite is Guardian which has infinite spawns and a great conversion rate. If you can find a good partner, Wingman is also excellent.

As of Title Update 4 it is now possible to earn experience in Horde mode. You will receive 100xp for every wave completed on Casual difficulty, 150xp for Normal, 200xp for Hardcore and 250xp for Insane. Since you get 175xp for a single kill in Warzone, if you are good enough, playing normal Public matches will obviously be a faster method of ranking up. If you suck though... Horde is always a nice fallback. The best method is for a group of four on Security. Win the first wave as quickly as possible, then when wave 2 begins, everyone jump into the lasers. Start back at wave 1, then rinse and repeat.

  • Complete waves 1 through 10 on all Snowblind Map Pack maps in Horde (any difficulty)

    (22)

You must complete the first 10 waves on each of the Snowblind maps. This can be done on Casual with a group on Live to make it easier. The maps are as follows:

    • Grind Yard
    • Under Hill
    • Courtyard
    • Fuel Depot
  • Complete waves 1 through 50 on any Snowblind Map Pack map in Horde (any difficulty)

    (102)

Pick one of the maps above that you are most comfortable with and complete the entire run of horde mode (50 waves) on one of the maps. This does not have to be done in one sitting, you just need to do all 50 on the same map at some point. If you never got the "Hoard the Horde" achievement from the original list, you will get that along with this achievement.

  • Play a multiplayer match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (any mode)

See "The Weather Outside Is Lethal" for more info.

  • Win a multiplayer match on each of the 4 Snowblind Map Pack maps (any mode)

You can just work on these while going for Rank 100 for "Veteran Gear" or to knock this achievement out quickly you can play a local match against some Casual bots or a second controller. Play and win a match on each of the four Snowblind maps for this and "Frigid Body Dynamics."

DLC: Dark Corners Map Pack

There are 13 achievements with a total of 325 points

  • Without being detected, complete the "Road to Ruin" deleted scene after choosing the stealth option

    (11)

First you will need to purchase the Dark Corners DLC (1200 MSP) or get it bundled in the All-Fronts Collection DLC (1600 MSP). The deleted scene can be accessed directly from the main menu. Once you load it up, choose the "stealth" option.

The deleted scene is fairly straightforward and is actually better done solo for the stealth achievement. Dom will kind of lead you through the level. The only part that seems to give people trouble is when the Brumak appears. At this point, there is an offshoot to your right that you can head down. When you reach Franklin, you will be forced to fight; this does not affect the achievement. If you make it to this section without being seen, you will still unlock this. If you are seen at any point, pause and choose to reload your last checkpoint; this will not affect the achievement.

  • Complete the "Road to Ruin" deleted scene after choosing the guns blazing option

    (3)

Once you load up the deleted scene, choose the "guns blazing" mode instead of stealth like the previous achievement. This should be familiar to you if you've played the normal campaign, so blast your way through. This can be done on any difficulty, obviously easiest on Casual, and go ahead with this in co-op to save some time to get the next achievement as well.

  • Complete the "Road to Ruin" deleted scene in co-op as either Marcus or Dom

    (31)

See "Highway to Hell" for more info.

To play in co-op, you simply need to load the deleted scene, then either sign in a second controller or invite someone to your game through the dashboard. You can't start this from any kind of lobby, but so long as you get a second person in right at the start you'll get the achievements.

  • Reach level 8 in multiplayer and complete waves 1 - 10 on the War Machine map in Horde

    (9)

For this achievement you need to reach level 8 by playing Public multiplayer matches or completing waves of Horde. You also need to complete the first ten waves of the Dark Corners map War Machine on any difficulty. These do not have to be done in one sitting and the two requirements can be done in any order.

  • Reach level 10 in multiplayer and complete waves 1 - 10 on the Highway map in Horde

    (8)

For this achievement you need to reach level 10 by playing Public multiplayer matches or completing waves of Horde. You also need to complete the first ten waves of the Dark Corners map Highway on any difficulty. These do not have to be done in one sitting and the two requirements can be done in any order.

  • Reach level 15 in multiplayer and complete waves 1 - 20 on the Sanctuary map in Horde

    (20)

For this achievement you need to reach level 15 by playing Public multiplayer matches or completing waves of Horde. You also need to complete the first twenty waves of the Dark Corners map Sanctuary on any difficulty. These do not have to be done in one sitting and the two requirements can be done in any order.

  • Reach level 20 in multiplayer and complete waves 1 - 20 on the Way Station map in Horde

    (17)

For this achievement you need to reach level 20 by playing Public multiplayer matches or completing waves of Horde. You also need to complete the first twenty waves of the Dark Corners map Station on any difficulty. These do not have to be done in one sitting and the two requirements can be done in any order.

  • Reach level 30 in multiplayer and complete waves 1 - 30 on the Allfathers Garden map in Horde

    (43)

For this achievement you need to reach level 30 by playing Public multiplayer matches or completing waves of Horde. You also need to complete the first thirty waves of the Dark Corners map Allfathers Garden on any difficulty. These do not have to be done in one sitting and the two requirements can be done in any order.

  • Reach level 40 in multiplayer and complete waves 1 - 40 on the Memorial map in Horde

    (79)

For this achievement you need to reach level 40 by playing Public multiplayer matches or completing waves of Horde. You also need to complete the first forty waves of the Dark Corners map Memorial on any difficulty. These do not have to be done in one sitting and the two requirements can be done in any order.

  • Reach level 50 in multiplayer and complete waves 1 - 50 on the Nowhere map in Horde

    (161)

For this achievement you need to reach level 50 by playing Public multiplayer matches or completing waves of Horde. You also need to complete all fifty waves of the Dark Corners map Nowhere on any difficulty. These do not have to be done in one sitting and the two requirements can be done in any order.

  • Play a multiplayer match on each of the 7 Dark Corners Map Pack maps (any mode)

See "Did Not Go Gentle" for more info.

  • Win a multiplayer match on each of the 7 Dark Corners Map Pack maps (any mode)

You can either use the "Organ Grinder" method of winning matches by yourself locally, or go online in Public matches and try to win them that way. Since you aren't required to win on them in Public matches like the Snowblind maps, the OG method is obviously quicker and easier. The Dark Corners maps are:

    • Allfathers Garden
    • Highway
    • Memorial
    • Nowhere
    • Sanctuary
    • War Machine
    • Way Station
  • Kill 25 Bloodmounts with a Scorcher while playing Horde on a Dark Corners Map Pack map

Bloodmounts are only found at the end of the last wave of each sequence in Horde mode. Each sequence consists of 10 waves, so waves ending in 0 are what you'll need. Throw it on Casual to make it easier on yourself. You can kill a few then let the other Locust kill you and retry the wave, your stats will be saved. A Scorcher can be found on the following Dark Corners maps:

    • Allfathers Garden
    • Way Station
    • Memorial
    • Highway

The Scorcher on Allfathers Garden is always present, but the other three maps it rotates with another weapon every round. If you don't want to be dying twice to get back to the "on" round for the Scorcher, just use AG for this achievement.
