Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Achievements

Are You A God?

Complete the game on 'Professional' difficulty.

As most hard difficulties prove a challenge for some players this might be quite a challenge for some and not so for others. Just take your time and play through the game on casual to get a feel for all the controls and how everything works. Each ghost will need to be approached with in a different method and each creature you run into will need to be tackled with caution.

These achievements do stack so if you want to do your first run through on pro and unlock most of the achievements you can.

Here are a few things to keep in mind while playiing on hard:

  • Vent your pack on a regular basis
  • Revive all team mates as soon as you can
  • Know the area your heading into
  • keep your distance, if you can
  • Take your time

Seriously? This wasn't even that hard. Sure, there were some blocking parts that took a little long, like defeating the Cruster/Custer ghost twins mini-boss in the library (or whatever they're called), but trust me. Don't bother starting on any difficulty. It'll be a waste of time. Just go straight to Professional.

The SECRET to beating the final boss on PROFESSIONAL DIFFICULTY is this... Shoot one Meson homing dart at him, then once you've locked on to him with it, just hold down your rapid fire button for the Meson gun and blast away!!!! THIS IS CRITICAL! You have to home in your shots on him! TRUST ME! I did this final boss a billion times! Then, whenever he is in the center, shoot 2 Meson darts (NOT your rapid fire shots!) at each of the statues the help him recharge. *Shoot 2 shots at each statue, and make sure to vent your weapon after every 2 shots!* (I didnt even bother picking up your fellow ghostbusters when they fell. Its a waste of time. Because 99% of the time when you pick them up, you get hit yourself.) HOPE THIS HELPS!

is it possible to get this achievement by just going to the last boss and beating him (because some games are like that) or do you have to play the whole game on professional?

It appears you can get this achievement when you finish the first level (training level) on Pro, and than finish each level's final chapter on Professional, and you'd get it :)

It wasn't that bad...until the cherubs in the last level, right before the boss. When you have to destroy the gate....I just destroyed a controller thanks to this bit. This is the first time in my life I have ever thrown a controller, let along destroyed it.

Well I just fucked myself out of this glitch. Didn't realize the training mission is part of chapter 1 as the very first checkpoint. Since I didn't see it there, I thought I needed to start a New Game, figuring since I'd beat the game once, I could select missions/checkpoints as I wanted. Now it's like I never even beat the game so I have to start all over. Durp!!!
