Introduction:
Gravity Guy 2 is a 2D endless-run platformer that is much different than its predecessor. The goal is to get as far as you can before dying. Your character automatically runs across the screen and your only interaction with him is to jump or raise platforms. Power-ups can be purchased to help you get further. The farther you get, the faster your character will move. Currently the game is listed at $2.99 in the Windows Phone Store .

TIPS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Each time you level up, you are given the chance to upgrade you powers, up to three times for each power. After a power is maxed, you can use your level up to get free samples of that power up (between 1 and 3 per level, it is random). Revives are the most useful power to equip in the game. Unfortunately, they are also the most expensive. With that said, you should be using just about ever level up after you max out your powers to stock up on Revives.
  • Raising platforms should be your main form of control in the game to get past most of the obstacles. Compliment this with occasional jumps and even less frequent double jumps.
  • All of your powers should be maxed out as most of them will be important for later missions.

Step 1: Miscellaneous achievements:
Play the game to become familiar with the gameplay and how to best survive. The first achievement you will want to focus on is "Someone's in a hurry!" which is earned for completing three missions in a single level. This is relatively easy to obtain at the beginning of the game when the missions are easier. As you progress, missions will become more difficult. Keep playing through the game, leveling up, and earning all of the miscellaneous achievements (those that can be earned in a single run). The most challenging one is "Murphy's law" which will require you to reach a distance of 5,000 meters in a single run. When leveling up, max out the most useful of powers first, and then use you level ups to get free Revives. This will save you a lot of coins in the end.

Step 2: Cumulative achievements:
After earning all of the miscellaneous achievements, depending on your skill level, you may or may not have a few cumulative achievements left to grind. The most time consuming one, "Beauty and the Beast!," will require you to obtain 150,000 coins to purchase two characters from the Shop. Depending on your skill and how many coins you saved up, you will likely need to grind between 5 to 10 hours to get enough coins. Subsequently, you could spend $4.99 to purchase the coins in-game and save yourself that time.

Conclusion:
Gravity Guy 2 dropped the extreme difficulty of the first game for a more casual endless runner style. The achievements are mostly simple, but making it 5,000 meters can require some practice and patience. Additionally, the grind for coins at the end can be fairly tedious. Overall, it is a fun game to play in short bursts, but the fact that it has an unobtainable achievement may turn some folks away.

Third time's the charm!10
Level up without completing any missions

This achievement requires that you level up without completing any missions. It is unclear exactly how this is done, as you must complete missions to level up, but this achievement should pop along with "1UP!" when you level up for the very first time.

1UP!5
Level up for the first time

This achievement requires that you level up for the first time. Leveling up in the game is done by completing missions. From the start of the game, you will be given three missions (which can be viewed from the pause menu). Once you complete these three missions, you will level up and earn this achievement.

Run Guy, run!10
Travel a total of 100,000m

This achievement requires that you travel a cumulative total of 100,000 meters across all of your runs. By the time you get all of the other achievements, you will likely have surpassed 100,000 meters. However, if not, just keep playing the game!

One for the road!5
Use a power

This achievement requires that you use a power for the first time. On the screen before staring a run, you will be able to equip up to three powers to use in your next run by purchasing them with coins. Initially you will only be able to equip one until you level up more. Choose a power by tapping "Use" and then start the run. This will pop the achievement.

Liftraiser!5
Raise 666 lifts

This achievement requires that you raise a cumulative total of 666 lifts across all of your runs. Raising a lift is done by tapping the right half of the screen while in a run and is the absolute best way to maneuver your character through the obstacles in the game (as opposed to jumping). Raising a lift even for a split-second will count towards this achievement. You will get this far before completing all of the other achievements.

Clone wars!5
Play with 101 different clones

This achievement requires that you start and complete a cumulative total of 101 runs. Each and every time you complete a run and you die, your previous character is technically gone and a new "clone" of the character will be created. All you need to do is start and complete (i.e. die) 101 runs. You can check your progress towards this achievement from the Main Menu. In the upper left corner, above your character, you can see your clone count. The counter must reach 102 to pop this achievement.

A handful of fun!5
Get 5 free samples

This achievement requires that you obtain a cumulative total of 5 free samples of any combination of powers. Once you max out a power, you can use your subsequent upgrades from leveling up to then get free samples of that power. The number of free samples you get is mostly random, varying between 1 and 3 per upgrade used. Getting free samples of revives will be key to earning many achievements in the game, so this achievement will come easily. As soon as you get your fifth free sample, the achievement will unlock.

Quality assurance!15
Restart the game 10 times in a row

This achievement requires that you restart a run 10 times in a row. Start a run. Then hit the pause button (top right corner of screen) and hit restart (swirly arrow button) from the Pause Menu. Confirm that you want to restart and you will begin your run again. Repeat 9 more times consecutively and the achievement will unlock. You cannot fail at all or exit in between restarts.

Armed to the teeth!5
Fill all power slots in one run

This achievement requires that you fill all three power slots in one run. The third power slot does no unlock to you reach level 25, but there is a way to unlock this achievement right at the start of the game. Basically you want purchase and equip a single power up (any one but revive). Then, as soon as the level starts, pause and restart. Once it starts up again, pause and restart again. Essentially you are paying for that one original power three times, but it will pop the achievement.

A quick buck!5
Collect 50000 coins

This achievement requires that you collect a cumulative total of 50,000 coins across all of your runs. You will definitely reach this milestone before completing all of the other achievements. See "Beauty and the Beast" for more information on grinding coins if you feel the need.

Flawless!10
Do 500 perfect landings

See "Parkour for a living!"

Death and Taxes!10
Collect 1000 coins from rewards in a single run

This achievement requires that you collect 1,000 coins in a single run from rewards. There are two types of rewards in the game: the perfect landing zones and the bullseyes. Perfect landing zones are the green patches that you must land in. Bullseyes are the green vertical gates that are surrounded by deadly red orbs. They have the same base point value, starting out at 10 points, increasing to 15, then 20 points as you go further into the run. Getting a total of 1,000 points can be a little challenging. However, it is made much easier by equipping the Amplifier power. This power will increase your points earned from rewards. When you fully upgrade this power, it will double your rewards points, making this achievement much easier. Use the Revive power as well if you are having trouble. As soon as you reach 1,000 rewards coins, the achievement will pop in-game.

Jump handicap!15
Travel 2500m without double jumping (1)

This achievement requires that you travel 2,500 meters consecutively without double jumping in a single run. You can raise as many platforms and jump as many times as you want, but you cannot double jump. Double jumping occurs when you push jump while in the air at any point (doesnt even have to be after jumping, you could use a lift to get you into the air). The animation on-screen will show fire coming out of a jetpack on your character when you double jump. Heading 2,500 meters without double jumping can be tricky without powers.

The two you will want to equip are Boost and Revive. A fully-upgraded Boost will move you 1,000 meters to start the run automatically which will count towards the 2,500. Having a fully-upgraded Revive power equipped will not only give you a second chance if you die, but it will also boost you 500 meters ahead as well. So combining these two powers you will only need to get 1,000 of those meters yourself. The achievement will pop immediately when the distance is surpassed.

Lift handicap!15
Travel 1500m without raising any lifts

This achievement requires that you travel 1,500 meters consecutively without raising any lifts in a single run. You can jump and double jump as many times as you want, but you cannot raise any lifts in any way. Heading 1,500 meters without raising lifts can be done fairly easily without powers, however, with powers, it becomes automatic. The two you will want to equip are Boost and Revive. A fully-upgraded Boost will move you 1,000 meters to start the run automatically which will count towards the 1,500 meters. Having a fully-upgraded Revive power equipped will not only give you a second chance if you die, but it will also boost you 500 meters ahead as well. So combining these two powers you will automatically net you 1,500 meters. The Boost power will probably be all you need, if you dont want to waste unnecessary coins on the Revive. The achievement will pop immediately when the distance is surpassed.

Jackpot!15
Collect 4000 coins in a single run

This achievement requires that you collect a total of 4,000 coins in a single run, including both coins that are directly collect and those earned as rewards from perfect landing zones and bullseyes. This achievement is currently UNOBTAINABLE and it will most likely remain that way. Even if you manage to reach 4,000 coins, the achievement will not unlock. Complain to the developers for a patch if you want this to change.

Murphy's law!15
Travel 5000m in a single run

This achievement requires that you travel to a distance of 5,000 meters in a single run. This is without question the most challenging achievement in the game (that is actually obtainable). Your character will start to run faster and faster, the jumps will become farther, the bullseyes smaller, the electric ground will become longer. It will likely take many tries to get this achievement. The only truly useful power to equip while attempting this achievement is a fully-upgraded Revive. Not only will it give you a second chance if you die, it will boost you 500 meters as well.

Depending on how many coins you want to blow and how lazy you are, you can also equip Boost to get you 1,000 meters off the bat. This is discouraged however as those first 1,000 meters are very easy to survive once you become familiar with the game. This will take the average gamer many attempts which can require a lot of revives. Revives are fairly pricey and your best method to get them is from free samples. Once you upgrade the powers that you want, use all of your level-ups to get free samples of Revives.

There are no real tips here other than to not focus on anything but staying alive to reach 5,000 meters. Once the bullseyes become smaller, try to go over or under them, instead of through them. This will not always be possible, but in most cases is your best bet. The achievement will pop immediately when you hit 5,000 meters.

Someone's in a hurry!15
Do 3 missions in a single run without skip (1)

This achievement requires that you complete three missions in a single run without skipping any of them. In the Pause Menu, you can see your three current missions. You must complete all three in a single run. This can be tricky, especially if you wait too long to attempt this. Early on, when you are a lower level, the missions are easier. You must also not complete one or two of the missions alone in a run as this will prevent you from getting all three in a run (you dont get new missions until all three are completed). You should grind away at cumulative missions in a couple runs to set yourself up to complete all three in a single run. For example, if two of your three missions are to "Raise 100 platforms" and "Collect 1,000 coins," you should collect 950 coins across a few runs and get 95 or so platforms raised. If your final challenge is "Get 5 perfect landings in a single run," you will now be set up to get all three in a single run. You will surpass your 1,000th coin, 100th platform, and if you manage to get 5 perfect landings, the achievement will pop as all three missions were completed during a single run. Your missions will vary, but you can choose some appropriate powers to equip. Revive is always a good choice, but Boost, Magnet, or Jewel Box could be helpful as well, depending on the situation. Try to get this done before Level 10. Dont worry if didnt however, as it wont be that tough later on in most cases.

NOTE: Some missions cannot contribute to this achievement, which means you will not be able to earn it on specific levels. A few that can be confirmed to not count are "Start X number of runs" and "Finish X number of runs without hitting any orbs" (or something similar). Even if you time it so that these missions are completed during the same run as the other missions you have, the achievement will not pop.

Parkour for a living!10
Do 1000 perfect landings

These achievements require that you complete a cumulative total of 500 and 1000 perfect landing across all of your runs. Perfect landings zones are green areas located on platforms that give coins bonuses when you land directly on them. These zones are one of the best methods to earn coins and should always be attempted. You will reach 1,000 well before earning all of the other achievements, but if you dont, just keep playing the game, aiming for all the perfect landings.

Stare him in the eye!10
Do 400 bullseyes

This achievement requires that you pass through a cumulative total of 400 bullseyes across all of your runs. Bullseyes are the green vertical gates that are surrounded by deadly red orbs. Passing through a bullseye will earn you a coin reward. They do not start appearing until you progress for a ways into a run. Use jumping and lifts to propel your character through the gates. Initially the gates are large, but become smaller as you move further into a run. Passing through 400 of these will come before earning most of the other achievements in the game, but if it doesnt, just keep playing and going for as many bullseyes as possible.

Beauty and the Beast!15
Buy both Beauty and Beast clones

This achievement requires that you purchase both the Beauty and Beast clones from the Shop. Beauty costs 70,000 coins and Beast costs 80,000 coins. This is a lot of coins and it will require several hours of grinding to earn enough. Depending on how far you make it, most players will average around 300 to 500 coins per minute, or 18,000 to 30,000 coins per hour. To earn the required 150,000 coins, this will take between 5 to 10 hours. Using powers simply for coin collecting is mostly a waste unless you get them as free samples. You can cut out this grinding completely for the price of $4.99. This will get you 150,000 coins from the shop.
