Introduction:
Guardians of Middle-earth is a Lord of the Rings-based, Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) type game, that gives players the chance to play major characters from The Hobbit and LOTR series of books and movies and take them on the battlefield against groups of diverse enemies, from Sauron, to Arathorn, the father of the future King, Aragorn. Each character, or Guardian, has it's own skillset allowing them to excel in particular areas such as attack power, defensive skills, or ability (spells) power. Some Guardians are even capable of performing all skills adequately, although not always quite as well as some of their specialized counterparts. In online play, players are pitted in 5 on 5 battles to destroy enemy towers as they make their way to the enemy's base and inevitably destroy that. Only the most powerful warriors of Middle-earth will come out victorious, will that be you?
Game Types:
Custom Match
After completing the Tutorials (to unlock Gandalf), you might as well get the one Custom Match achievement over with by setting up a custom match, which can be you vs all AI Guardians, or you can have your friends join you for the fun. In this game mode, you can also play any locked or unlocked Guardian to try them out before purchasing them for Battlegrounds/Skirmishes. Win this game to unlock Win This Way.
Battlegrounds(Regular/Elite)/Skirmishes:
Battlegrounds are the player vs. player gametype, and Skirmishes are players vs. AI. While a majority of the achievements require Battlegrounds mode, you can finish off the 100 wins for An Unexpected Journey in Skirmish mode if you find that easier, which in my experience isn't always the case as AI tend to be better than the average player, at least currently. However, if you notice you are having difficulties winning Battlegrounds after you have collected all of the Battlegrounds only achievements, then you might as well try your hand at Skirmishes. Also, make sure you play at least one game in 3-Lane mode in either match type, which I find to be a bit quicker gametype overall anyway, so you may want to just play 100 of those games. To make this whole Battleground/Skirmish ordeal easier, you can always play with friends, however the matchmaking system with friends can be tricky, sometimes splitting up the group between the two teams.
Conclusion:
As you play through the Battlegrounds, also be sure to play as each class and character at least once to get the associated achievements for playing as all of the good characters (In the Light), the evil characters (Servant of the Shadows), and win as each class (Fortified, Enchanted, Defend to the End, Strike Hard Strike Fast, Warrior's Mettle).
