Introduction:
Guitar Hero World Tour is one of the best music-rhythm games to the date. Featuring the use of guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, Guitar Hero World Tour makes a great party game, or simply a game to play by yourself. This game has 50 achievements totaling 1000. Of these 50 achievements, only five require an Xbox Live connection. The rest can be unlocked offline.

As with previous Guitar Hero games, there is no consistent achievement glitch. However, a few unlucky gamers will find a certain achievement will not unlock, even though they have completed the criteria for it. There is no fix for this. On the other hand, a few lucky gamers will find that achievements will unlock by doing nothing required to unlock that achievement. These glitches are very rare, however.

To input a cheat, go to the main menu. Select “Options,” then “Cheats,” then “Enter New Cheat.” The only cheat that disables achievements is the “Auto Kick” cheat. All other cheats are either for personal preferences or for entertainment purposes. For a list of cheats, view this website here.

Step 1: Tutorials (1 for 5)
This roadmap assumes that you have no experience playing music-rhythm games. If this is the case, the best way to start would definitely be to play the tutorials. If you do not have instruments yet, those need to be purchased as soon as possible. For Guitar Hero World Tour, any plastic guitar will work; any guitar from a previous Guitar Hero game or even any Rock Band guitar works. Because of this, I would recommend the Guitar Hero III Les Paul guitar (considered one of the best guitars), and one other guitar of your choice. For a microphone, you can use a Rock Band microphone or a Guitar Hero microphone. Even a standard Xbox Live headset will work. For drums, note that you will receive the best experience with a Guitar Hero World Tour drum set. You can, however, use a Rock Band or Rock Band 2 drum set. Once you have all instruments, play through every tutorial and familiarize yourself with the game. Make sure you do not form any bad habits; always do exactly as the tutorial says. Playing the tutorials will net you Learning the Ropes.

Step 2: Career Playthroughs (21 for 525)
By now, you should have an idea on which instrument you are best at. Beat all instrument careers except for the career involving your best instrument. With three careers out of the way, you can focus on beating the career with your best instrument on expert. This may be very hard depending on your skill level. Go into practice mode if needed to eventually pass the career. Also complete the band career on any difficulty with at least one other person. After this, you should have One Time Solo Artist, Stix, Yodeler, Pick and Axe, First of Many, One Man Band, Easy There, Solo Artist, Band on a Mission, Top of the Charts, Medium Musician, Hardcore, Hall of Famer, Jack of All Trades, and The Experience. There are several achievements that require you to create or edit something. Create a band logo, guitar, male band member, drums, female band member, and tattoo. Doing so will unlock Stamp Of Approval, One Of A Kind Axe, Warrior Of Rock, Custom Beats, Rock Maiden, and Inked.

Step 3: Xbox Live and Band Achievements (13 for 230)
These first five achievements are very simple to get. For Feeding the Beast, and Download Junkie, upload one custom song to GHTunes and download a few custom songs. Next play an Xbox Live 2 v 2 Pro Face-Off match, a Battle Mode match, and a Band v Band match. Doing so will net you A Pair Beats A Pair, Survival of the Fittest, and Mine is Bigger Than Yours. Now onto the band achievements. Every one of the band achievements must be done with a FOUR player band, and can be done locally or online. For Should We Stick Together?, all you have to do is play a song in band. Unlock 50 Note Posse by having everyone in your band have a 50 note streak at the same time. 1.21 Jigowatts?!?! is achieved by everyone in your band activating star power at the same time. Super Group Unite is the same, except make sure everyone has a 4x note streak when star power is activated. For Solid Gold Rockstars, everyone in your band must score 100% on the song, on any difficulty. For Platinum Rockstars, however, everyone in your band must score 100% on hard or expert difficulty. For Heavy Metall…, and TOOL of Destruction, you will probably need a band capable of playing fairly well on hard difficulty.

Step 4: Song-Specific Achievements (3 for 90)
These achievements will probably cause you the most trouble of any achievements in this game. To earn Get Your Boogie On, you must score 222,222 or higher as the lead guitarist on Satch Boogie. This can only be done on hard or expert. Earn Muse to My Ears by scoring 222,222 or higher as the drummer on Assassin. This can be done on medium difficulty. Mike Checka’ will unlock by scoring 123,450 or higher as the vocalist on Beat It. This can only be done on expert, or on medium using the Mike Checka’ tutorial (See Guide).

Step 5: $1,000,000 and Characters (9 for 110)
Bling, Bling is one of the most time-consuming achievements in this game. Keep earning money by playing career or quickplay. You will earn the most money by earning five stars on expert. Once you have $1,000,000, you can start buying characters. Every character should be available for purchase because you have completed every career. Buy Hayley Williams, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Corgan, The Skeleton, Zack Wylde, Ted Nugent, Travis Barker, and The Rockubot. Then play a game with each of them to earn Leading Lady, The Dark Prince, Pumpkin Smasher, Bad to the Bone, Wylde Man, Motorcity Madman, Don’t Blink, and Shiny Metal Thingy.

Step 6: Achievement Mop Up (3 for 40)
Now that you’re done with the majority of the achievements, it’s time to mop up those last three. There is a good chance you have gotten either Guitarist’s Coattails or Vocalist’s Coattails, or even both already. If you haven’t, hop into band quickplay and achieve those. Last, unlock AxeMuseum by earning five stars on every song in the guitar career on any difficulty.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, this game shouldn’t take too much effort from a seasoned veteran of music-rhythm games to achieve 1000. To a newcomer of music-rhythm games however, going for 1000 in Guitar Hero World Tour could be extremely frustrating. One final word of advice: Do not spend too much time going for these achievements, as another Guitar Hero game is shelled out just about every month, just waiting to be squeezed of its Gamerscore.

Learning the Ropes5
Complete a tutorial

From the main menu select Quickplay, then select Training. Scroll down to Tutorials and select from any of these tutorials. Some require specific instruments to be plugged in before you can watch them. Do not skip lessons, you must watch the entire tutorial for the achievement to unlock.

One Time Solo Artist5
Completed a song (Solo)

Start up Career or Quickplay on Single in any difficulty with any instrument and play through one entire song.

Stix5
Perform as a Drummer (Band or Solo) (1)

Start up Career or Quickplay on Single as the Drums and play through one entire song on any difficulty.

Yodeler5
Perform as a Vocalist (Band or Solo)

Start up Career or Quickplay on Single as Vocals and play through one entire song on any difficulty.

Pick and Axe5
Perform as a Guitarist (Band or Solo)

Start up Career or Quickplay on Single as Guitar and play through one entire song on any difficulty.

Feeding the Beast5
Upload a song to GHTunes (10)

With any instrument besides vocals go to your Main Menu select Music Studio, then select Recording Studio. Now, select Create New Song, then select Create New Song again. Once you are in the studio, select any instrument from the list. Once you've done that hit Right on your D-pad to start the song and then hit Left on your D-pad to start recording notes. You need to record or play at least 20 notes.

Once you are done recording notes hit Left on your D-pad to stop recording and Right on your D-pad to stop the track. Hit Start, select quit, but don't forget to save. Go down to your song in My Songs and select it. Scroll down to Publish Song, select a genre and select Upload to GHTunes, then select slot one. Agree to the submission rules and you're done.

Download Junkie5
Download a few songs from GHTunes (3)

From the Main Menu select Music Studio, then select GHTunes, select All Time Best. Once you're in the list of songs, select a song and it should bring up a preview of the song, from here hit your Yellow button to save (download) the song. Repeat this with 3 different songs.

A Pair Beats A Pair5
Complete an Xbox LIVE 2 v 2 Pro Face-Off match (win or lose) (17)

From the Xbox Live menu change your mode to 2v2 Pro Face-Off then start Matchmaking. You can either search with two guitars in your lobby or search for another. This online match needs to be completed, but does not need to be won.

It is possible to bring a guest account into your Xbox Live menu if you have two guitars. Just make sure one of your guitars is selected to Guitar and the other is on Bass before you search (you can switch by pressing the Orange button).

Survival of the Fittest5
Complete an Xbox LIVE Battle Mode match win or lose

From the Xbox Live menu change your mode to 1v1 Battle then start Matchmaking with a guitar. This online match needs to be completed, but does not need to be won.

Mine is Bigger Than Yours5
Complete an Xbox LIVE Band v Band match (win or lose) (19)

From the Xbox Live menu change your mode to Band v Band then start Matchmaking. This online match needs to be completed, but does not need to be won.

It is rather hard to find seven other random people to make up two bands, so I would suggest having a band of four in your party already before you search. This seems to make it easier while trying to find an actual match. It is possible to bring in three other guest accounts to your Xbox Live menu if you have two guitars, a mic, and drums. Just make sure one of your guitars is selected to Guitar and the other is on Bass before you search (you can switch by pressing the Orange button).

First of Many10
Complete a gig (Band or Solo)

Start up Career on Single in any difficulty with any instrument and complete an entire gig, otherwise known as a set or set list. Your first gig will be a total of three or four songs.

One Man Band10

Start up Career on Single in any difficulty as Vocals, Guitar, Bass, and Drums and finish at least one song each.

Should We Stick Together?10

Start up a band from either choosing Career or Quickplay from the Main Menu or Band Quickplay from the Xbox Live menu. You need to have at least four players in your band (Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums) and you need to finish at least on song.

50 Note Posse15
All band members get a 50 note streak at the same time (4 player band) (7)

While in a song as a four-player band, your band must have at least a 50 note-streak. Play any song on a lower difficulty and make sure that all four members in your band have at least a 50 note-streak at the same time. You can tell if you're above 50 notes individually if your icon for the instrument you are playing has a gold border around it, located above your score.

Easy There25
Complete a Career on easy (Band or Solo)

See "Hall of Famer."

Solo Artist25
Complete a solo career (any difficulty)

Start up a Career in Single as any instrument and play through every free gig available (gigs that you do not have to purchase in order to play). You can choose any difficulty from Beginner to Expert.

Band on a Mission25
Complete the majority of the gigs (Band or Solo)

While playing in Career you will have to complete roughly 7-8 gigs with any instrument on any difficulty.

Bling, Bling30
Earn $1,000,000 in lifetime earnings (16)

You earn cash by finishing songs in Career, Quickplay, or Band Quickplay. You can earn more cash by playing higher difficulties and performing better all around. After every song you finish it will tell you how much you've earned or your "cut." Accumulate $1,000,000 or the Rock Rank of 50.

You can attain this without playing, on Vocals. Plug your mic in and go to your Career and set it to Expert, then select No Sleep Till Brooklyn in the first gig. You may have to complete the gig (on any difficulty) before you can choose the song separately. You can also do this in Quickplay if you have the song unlocked already. You will need to place your mic in front of something that makes enough noise for the mic to pick up the sound constantly (any Speakers, Fan, (the shower?)). After you complete the song it should give you anywhere from $600 - $800 every time.

Top of the Charts30
Complete a band career (any difficulty) (5)

Start up Career on Band and play through every free gig available (gigs you do not have to purchase in order to play). You can choose any difficulty from Beginner to Expert.

-If you have a Mic and a second account, you can play as Guitar, Bass, or Drums and set your Vocals to Beginner. Then place the mic in front of something that makes enough noise for the mic to pick up the sound constantly (any Speakers, Fan, etc..), while you play on another instrument.

Medium Musician30
Complete a Career on medium (Band or Solo)

See "Hall of Famer."

Solid Gold Rockstars30
100% a song as a band (4 player band)

Start up a Band with at least four players and set everyone to a lower difficulty, Beginner being the easiest. Play any song and make sure no one in the band misses a note. You can strum extra and stop your note streaks, but you cannot miss any notes.

-Vocals counts total notes just like any other instrument, not just phrases. So, it is possible to have a 4x multiplier, but have less than 100% notes hit.

Platinum Rockstars50
100% a song as a band, hard or expert only (4 player band) (38)

Start up a Band with at least four players and set everyone to Hard difficulty. Play any song and make sure no one in the band misses a note. You can strum extra and stop your note streaks, but you cannot miss any notes.

-Vocals counts total notes just like any other instrument, not just phrases. So, it is possible to have a 4x multiplier, but have less than 100% notes hit.

Some easier songs to choose from are:
No Sleep Till Brooklyn (harder on guitar)
What I've Done (harder on vocals/medium on drums)

Hardcore60
Complete a Career on hard (Band or Solo)

See "Hall of Famer."

Hall of Famer100
Complete a Career on expert (Band or Solo) (24)

Finish all the free gigs in a Career in Single or Band play.

Single: You must complete all free gigs on Expert by yourself.
Band: Every player (2-4) must have their difficulty set to Expert in order for the song to be completed as Expert.

- If you complete the Career on Expert you will also unlock all difficulties below it. This is the same for all difficulties, not just Expert.
- If you are playing on a Guitar you can choose Bass as it is easier to play than Guitar.
- If you are playing Vocals you can hum the songs lyrics instead of singing, as this is much easier.

Jack of All Trades150
Complete all instrument careers - any difficulty (Band or Solo) (5)

You will need to start up four separate Careers as four separate instruments (Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums). Play through all free gigs (gigs that you do not need to purchase in order to play) in all Careers. The difficulty chosen doesn't matter, you can choose from Beginner to Expert for all Careers.

-When you play Vocals set the difficulty to beginner, then place the mic in front of something that makes enough noise for the mic to pick up the sound (any speakers, fan, etc.) and let it sit through the songs.
