Title Update
Introduction:
Happy Wars is a free to play game developed by Toylogic and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It is exclusive to Xbox Live Arcade, and is the first ever free to play game on the Xbox 360 console. The game has two multiplayer modes (Quick Match and Co-op) and a single player story campaign. This game has 28 achievements that will be extremely time consuming! The original 20 achievements were not too lengthy and only took about 20 hours to complete, but a free Title Update was added in late May 2013 which came with 8 more achievements totaling 100 that make the gave a long completion. To earn any achievements in this game, you must have a connection to Xbox Live and a gold account. The game requires you to have an active connection, and a gold account is required because many of the achievements are related to multiplayer. The two most time consuming achievements are "Commander of the Light Knights" and "Happy Quest Hunter"; both of these achievements were released with the Title Update. Most of the remaining achievements shall unlock in the process of working towards the two previously mentioned achievements. The achievements are also rather easy with the exception of the "MVP" achievement. This achievement can be either be easy to obtain or difficult to obtain depending on the game you are attempting to get it in.
Step 1: Learn How to Play the Game
In this step, you will get yourself familiar with the game. When you first start up the game, choose single player and go to Tutorial mode. Play through all three tutorials available and learn how to use each of the three classes. After completing tutorial mode, play a match in Training mode. The following achievements should unlock in this step
- First Victory
- Nobody Calls Me Noob
- BOT Hunter
Step 2: Multiplayer Part 1 - Rank Up for Story Mode
Multiplayer is where you will obtain a vast majority of your achievements in this game. For the purposes of this roadmap, Multiplayer has been split up into two different sections; the first section consists of quicker achievements and what should be accomplished before Story mode where the second section holds the much more time consuming achievements that only completionists and fans of the game will probably go for. In this Multiplayer step, you must play multiplayer matches until you reach Rank 26. This is because the game requires you to have a certain rank to unlock single player quests, and the last set of missions will unlock at Rank 26. However, I recommend playing until you reach at least Rank 30 so certain missions will be easier to manage due to more experience/better equipment/etc.
I recommend playing most of your matches in Quick Match because you will gain more experience and there seems to be less waiting time. Play at least one time through all three rounds of co-op. Play as all of the classes a few times and make sure you use all of the skills for each. While rankling up, try to work towards some of the more time consuming achievements and make sure you try to get the MVP quest out of the way. More details on that quest will be under the related achievement, MVP. These achievements shall unlock while playing through the first multiplayer step:
- Gang Up
- Hello World
- All Rounder
- The Legend Begins
- Battle Master
- Rick Man
- Standing On My Own
- MVP
- Team Player
- The Beginning of a Quest (Title Update DLC)
Step 3: Improve Items
This step can be done while working on Step 2. Once you have some Happy Stars, go into Dress Up and Power Up. Choose Item Modification an add a buff to an item. Then go into Item-Level Up and level one item all the way to level 15. This step is also a good time to spin the Happy Spinner one time if you have not already done so. The achievements you will get by doing this are:
- The Blacksmith
- MOD 0
- Spin Spin Spinner
- The Best Items
- The Ultimate Craftsman (Title Update DLC)
Step 4: Story
Now, it is time to play the single player campaign. If you have listened to the recommendation mentioned prior in Step 2, you shall be rank 30 or higher and have some good equipment. This will make most of story mode very easy. There should only be two levels that may provide trouble. Those will be mentioned in the "It worked!" achievement. You should have these achievements after beating the story:
- Treasure Hunter
- It worked!
Step 5: Multiplayer Part 2 - Rank and Quests
This Multiplayer step will be where most of your time is spent. In this step, you will need to reach Rank 50, which will take approximately 150 hours or more depending on how well you are doing in the game. You will also be completing a good majority of the 72 quests that are available in the game; 60 must be completed in order to get all quest related achievements. Three of the more time consuming quests in the game are also achievements as well, the most time consuming one being the "Archangel" achievement, so you will want to work on these while ranking up. The following achievements will be earned in this Multiplayer step:
- Happy War-Lord
- You Rock!
- Knight of the Order of Light (Title Update DLC)
- Commander of the Light Knights (Title Update DLC)
- Happy Quest Hunter (Title Update DLC)
- The Godlike Swordsman (Title Update DLC)
- Archangel (Title Update DLC)
- The Devil (Title Update DLC)
Conclusion:
Happy Wars will be very time consuming to complete because of certain achievements, but most of them will unlock as you are working towards them. Even though this may take a long time to complete, it is easy, simple, and enjoyable to play. If you have followed this guide diligently, you shall now finally have all 28 achievements in Happy Wars! Congratulations on your new 500!
