Seasoned Ace90
Complete all campaigns on Ace difficulty.
Complete the Campaign on Ace difficulty to unlock. Ace difficulty is very hard, and is the exact reason why this game scores a difficulty rating of 9/10. Things to keep in mind while playing Ace:

  • Chose a plane or two and stick with them. Get to know your planes, how easily it turns, how best to use it. Try to keep using the same planes each time. Remember, if you did the Bonus Objectives in Pilot Difficulty you should have a nice collection of planes to choose from. Some more popular planes included the P-61 Black Widow. The Black Widow has a Back Gunner, which is what makes it so great; however, this comes at a cost. Some missions, like the Battle of the Bulge, do not allow you to use the Widow. If you are to use to the Widow on Ace difficulty, and NEED it to get through a mission, you’re screwed! It is for this reason why I advise only using the Widow sometimes. For those of you that want to know, playing ‘The Black Heart’ mission on Pilot should unlock the Widow for you.
  • Never stay still! German Pilots in World War 2 were trained not to be flying straight for more than 3 seconds at a time. Do the same. Planes that are not marked on your radar are always behind you; thus, go in the same direction for a period of about 3 -4 seconds will most likely get you shot. Always keep moving and turning for your own safety.
  • Learn to love Checkpoints! When you get a checkpoint, and your health bar is below 50%, simply press and restart from your last checkpoint. Whenever you do this, your health bar will go back to a minimum on 50%.
  • Ace Kills! Yes, I know the enemy is always moving, and Yes, I know I just told you not to fly straight for any serious amount of time. But if you can Ace kill, the do so. It makes those ME109’s and those big bombers easy to take out.
Ace Killer15
Ace Kill an enemy.
‘Ace Killing’ is taught to you in the first mission of the game, and you must do at least 1 Ace kill to complete the mission. Simply keep an enemy plane in your cross hairs until the red line fills at least ½ of the circle around the cross hairs. Then, press and shoot the ‘Hot Spots’, the things that are a yellow and glowing. No matter what plane, if you kill the Pilot, the plane will die. If you do not shoot the Pilot, you can shoot the Engines or Ammo Boxes. With Fighters, you only need to shoot 1 Engine (they only have 1) or 1 Ammo Box (these are the ‘Hot Spots’ in the middle of the wings). For Bombers, you must shoot out ALL the Engines to kill it, or get the pilot. Bombers do not have Ammo boxes you can shoot.
Fireworks Display15
Perform an ammo box Ace Kill.
‘Ace Kill’ an enemy by shooting the small ammo boxes on a fighter wings. See Ace Killer for more details.
Air To Air15
Destroy an enemy fighter with rockets.
As easy as it sounds, kill an enemy fighter with Rockets. Not all planes have rockets, so choose one that does. This can be easily done in missions like the Battle of the Bulge, where enemy planes are helpless on the ground, and your objective is to destroy them.
Dive! Dive! Dive!15
Dive bomb a ground target.
This achievement can be done with any plane that has bombs equipped to it. Simply find a target you would like to blow up, gain a lot of altitude, and when you are directly above it, DIVE! DIVE! DIVE! When you are at full speed diving towards the ground, release your bombs and pull out of the dive. Make sure you are diving straight towards the ground, not on an angle.
Bombardier15
Destroy a ground target with a bomb.
Just blow up a ground target with a bomb, very simple. This can be done easily against enemies that are not moving, like AA, Tanks, and Radar Stations. You can also get this achievement with Dive! Dive! Dive!.
Vivisectionist15
Take out two engines and a gunner in one Ace Kill.
‘Ace Kill’ an enemy bomber in the following way: Find a German Bomber with 2 Engines and a back gunner. I cannot think of 1 Bomber that does not have these, but you want to do this with one that has 2 engines, not 4. Go into ‘Ace Kill’ mode and snipe 1 engine, then the back gunner, and finally, the last engine. Do not take out the 2 engines first, because then you will kill the Bomber and not be able to get the gunner. If you wish, you may kill the gunner, and then 2 engines. See Ace Killer for more details on ‘Ace Killing’.
The Sweetspot15
Chain two Ace Kills in the 'Zone'.
When you fill your cross hairs with the red line for an Ace Kill, let it pass the half way point. When you let it get to the ¾ mark or more, and you enter ace mode, get a kill, and come out, some of the bar is still above 50%. If you Ace Kill another plane while your line is still above 50%, this is known as ‘Chaining’. Do this to get this Achievement. This is easily done with bombers, due to the fact you can ‘lock on’, if you like, to your enemy easily, and due to the fact their close together, they are easy to chain. See Ace Killer for more details on ‘Ace Killing’.
Big Game Hunter30
Ace Kill every enemy plane type.
This is an easy achievement, although it can drive some people mad. Simply ‘Ace Kill’ all types of enemy planes. As long as you Ace kill a few times each level, and Ace Kill all the Bosses, you will get the achievement. The most commonly missed plane is the German B-17, the ‘Imposters’ on ‘The Butchers Birds’ mission. See Ace Killer for more details on ‘Ace Killing’.
On The Edge15
Complete a mission with only 25% health remaining.
Have a look at your Health Bar in the top left hand corner. It is broken up into quarters. Simply finish a mission while your health is in the last Quarter (it will be Dark Red in color).
Ramming Speed15
Destroy three bombers by ramming. (1)
I recommend you do this on Rookie or Pilot difficulty. In this game, if your health bar is full or near full, you can crash into an enemy plane and live. Just crash 3 times into a Bomber and you will get the achievement. Note, you must kill the Bomber, so I suggest making the Bomber low on health before you ram/crash into it.
Energy Attack15
Destroy a plane while diving at full speed.
While diving towards the ground, kill an enemy plane. This can be easily done while flying a ‘Black Widow’ because the back-gunner will shoot down enemy planes as you dive.
Ace of Spades15
Pilot Ace Kill an enemy boss.
Simply ‘Ace Kill’ an enemy boss, by shooting the Pilot in ‘Ace Kill’ mode. I suggest that you do this on a boss you find easy to kill, and on Rookie difficulty. See Ace Killer for more details on ‘Ace Killing’.
Pilot Hunter15
Pilot Ace Kill 10 enemies.
Like the Ace of Spades Achievement, you must kill 10 enemies by ‘Pilot Ace Killing’. However, this one you do not need to kill a boss; any enemy plane, bomber or fighter, counts to this achievement. See Ace Killer for more details on ‘Ace Killing’.
Sharp Shooter30
Complete a mission with 75% accuracy or higher.
At the end of every mission, a stats page comes up. This page tells you many things, like how many kills, Ace Kills, and most importantly for this achievement, your accuracy. The easiest way to achieve this achievement is the 2nd to last mission of the English missions, the one where you need to take out the 3 German Battleships. As long as you hit the E-Boats with good accuracy, you should be fine. Another way is on the very first mission. Just Ace Kill whenever you can, and when you cannot, make sure you are aiming towards your target.
Death from Above30
Bomb an airborne enemy plane.
Just bomb an enemy plane! It is that simple! I suggest you do this on the first New Zealand mission, while driving a Mosquito. Early into the mission, you must disrupt a tightly packed German Fighter Formation. These planes will not shoot at you, so go in right above one and drop your bombs. This is an easy achievement.
Cautious30
Complete a mission with full health.
Finish a mission on full health; very easy to understand, very easy to do. The easiest way of doing this is probably the first mission on Rookie difficulty, due to the fact there are very little planes, thus, very little bullets. Just make sure your health bar is full when you finish the mission, and this achievement is yours.
Tank Hunter30
Destroy 50 tanks using rockets in Battle of the Bulge.
A simple and easy achievement to unlock. While using rockets, kill 50 tanks on the Battle of the Bulge mission. I don’t think it is possible to complete this mission without unlocking this achievement, unless you have a plane that carries bombs not rockets. There are way more than 50 tanks in the mission, so this one is easy to get.
Collector30
Unlock all plane upgrades.
Although many people do not understand how this achievement unlocks, it is very simple. At the end of certain missions, you will unlock new plane/s. To get this achievement, you need to unlock all the planes you can get. To do this, complete the game on Ace difficulty and do ALL the Bonus Objectives on Ace difficulty. So, even though you may have finally finished a mission on Ace difficulty, unless you want to repeat it on Ace difficulty, do the Bonus Objective the first time.
Super Ace15
Score 50 kills in ranked match. (1)
See Ultimate Ace for details.
Specialist15
Play a full multiplayer round using each type of plane available in a level. (1)
This is very easy to unlock. Just get into a multiplayer game and do the following. When you are re-spawning, chose a plane. Once you have spawned, CRASH IT! Then choose a different plane, spawn and CRASH IT! Do this until you have played as every different plane available to you that game. At the end of the game, the achievement will unlock.
Spectator15
On the winning team without a kill in multiplayer with 5 or more players.
Very simple, be on the winning team, but do not have a kill! You can die, but you cannot kill! You must have a minimum of 5 players playing the game.
Fighter Ace15
Come first in a multiplayer game with five or more players flying a fighter.
See Support Chief for details.
Support Chief15
Come first in a multiplayer game with five or more players flying a fighter-bomber.
Support Chief and Fighter Ace are very similar. For Support Chief, be the best player while flying a Fighter Bomber. Fighter Ace is the same, except fly a normal Fighter, not a Fighter Bomber. The match has to have at least 5 people playing it.
Red Baron30
Shoot down five enemies with a single life in a multiplayer game.
Simply get a ‘Killing Spree’, an ‘Air Strike’ or whatever you want to call 5 kills without dying. Note, this achievement does NOT have to be done with at least 5 people.
Ultimate Ace30
Score 250 kills in ranked match. (2)
This is simple to understand, but will take time to do. Just kill 250 people in ranked matches. You can check how many kill you are on by looking at the leader boards, but please note the following:
1. Kills for this achievement always need to be in a Ranked Match
2. These Ranked Matches do not need at least 5 people
3. If you are playing a game and all your opponents leave before Max Kills is reached, or Time runs out, thus ending the game, none of your kills for that game count.
The Oskar30
Use rockets to destroy 5 enemies on a single life in multiplayer with 5 or more players.
Similar to Red Baron, you must get 5 kills in a row without dying, but you must kill with Rockets, not bullets, bombs, or yourself. This can be unlocked with Red Baron but please note that you must have a minimum of 5 players with this achievement.
