|Finish game in Survivor mode|
There are two difficulties in this game. Normal and Survivor. Survivor basically gives you less resources and you will be restarting from a "save point" rather than a "checkpoint" way more often. Normal has a safety net where you can retry the same spot 3 times if you don't have a retry item (they look like video recorders). So yes, the game may be a little more difficult but nothing you can't handle. I'd just suggest throwing it on this difficulty and figuring it out as you go along. The game is still going to give you a tutorial and whatnot. Plus you can still find the retry video recorders in the game.

I've contacted Ubisoft about the issue so hopefully they will get back with some answers pretty quick, i'll make sure to post the response on here as soon as I get anything...I'm guessing that both the achievements for completing the game on any difficulty and then survivor mode cannot be unlocked at the same time...Ah well, I still need to help all the survivors anyways, was just hoping I could have done that on the easier difficulty to save time!

i dont find survivor mode difficult at all, and the fact i know where to look for all the supplies makes it even easier, i still need to do a second playthrough to help everyone else out anyway. i love this game so much so it'll be a pleasure ^__^

I want to try for this achievement but I want to be able to unlock it and not have it be glitched (if it is).

I have a question related to the 'Survivor' achievement in I Am Alive. I have just finished the game on this difficulty however the achievement did not unlock. Do I need to play the game through a second time on this difficulty to unlock the achievement as the other achievement, 'Do It Once', unlocked for finished the game, even though I played it on the hardest difficulty. Can both not be unlocked at the same time? Would welcome any further feedback in relation to this issue.
My Gamertag in case it helps: TheMartyniuks
Look forward to hea

ring back from you.
The stupidity of Ubisoft astounds me! 'It sounds like you have not completed the game?' I unlocked the achievement for finishing it! I even game them my profile to check! Perhaps I should copy and paste the other comments here in this forum as a response as it seems I am not the only one alone in this issue!

Yeah, I finished the game in survivor mode and it didn't pop as well. Im not sure if it was because I missed helping one victim or if I didn't let the credits roll all the way to the end but for whatever reason it never popped.

I finished the game today on survivor and didn't get the achievement. I rescued all the people and waited until the credits finished rolling and still no achievement, so I can confirm this does not affect it.
And it said in the finish screen "+5% completion for finishing the game on survivor" with a total of 120%, but still didn't get it.
So either it cannot be gained in the same run in which case it will stay uncompleted for me for a while, or it could be gained by continuing the game from near the end and finishing it a second time. I'll post back here if I give it a go and it helps.

It seems it's not possible to continue your game after completing it. I still see my saves on hard drive but on the main menu I can only start a new game.
So for anyone reading this, I would recommend playing the game on normal first and survival afterwards at least until there's a patch, unless you want to play it twice on survival.

I have completed this game twice on Survival and my first playthrough I didn't receive the achievement. So I would suggest you complete it once through on Normal and obtain 'Ultimate Rescuer' at the same time, then play it through again on Survivor, I got this achievement earlier after my second playthrough.

I believe "Survivor mode" was SUPPOSED to unlock AFTER you beat it on normal first. Meaning, we shouldn't have been able to play survivor from the get go, which in turn would cause the cheevo to malfunction.
In two reviews I read, they said that "beating the game then unlocks the harder difficulty settings."
Luckily, I am not too far in and am going to start over on normal, get all the survivors and then speed run through on survivor.

I finnished it yesterday on Survival mode and didn't get the achievment,
I started a new play through today & it is on Survival mode again.
I've noticed not all the items are in the place they were before, not sure
if this means the first time won't count even though last time some items wern't where the youtube vid said they would be. this one still baffels me.
Later DK :)

Replayed it today and it worked. You have to help all 20 victims in the same play through on survivor to get 100% completion before the post game bonus tally. Last time I missed a single victim (the hidden one in the parking garage of the hotel) and it didn't pop.
I am still not sure if you need the full 120% post game completion but I don't believe that the "humanity" and "morality" bonuses make a difference. I had both of those and the "survivor" bonus to equal 117% game completion last try and it didn't work for this achievement. However those bonuses probably don't hurt.
If you helped all 20 victims, but stole the extra items from the guy in the boat and the greenhouse or ate the human meat did it pop for any of you?

Hey fellas, do you have to help the other people to get this achievement? As long as you play it through on Survivor and complete the game it shouldn't matter, right? You may have a shitty score but you have, in fact, completed the game. I'm just trying to speed through as easily as possible.

to sum up the comments, it looks like you have to first beat the game on normal, which "should" unlock survivor mode. However, survivor is already unlocked at the first start up of the game due to a glitch, so if you did a survivor play through the first time, you need to complete it again to complete the newly "unlocked" difficulty
----Hope this helps some people

Below is a very in depth walkthrough on survivor mode that helped me alot. The walkthrough is 100% completion, so you can get all your achievements in one go following it. Also it shows most of the items in the game as well.
