Introduction
Welcome to Kinect Sesame Street TV, the downloaded app. This guide is for Season 1. To download this, go to the Apps tab on the dashboard, select 'Browse Apps' and navigate to the 'Video' tab. Select 'See All' and use to move right until you find 'Kinect Sesame Street TV'. Select it to download.
Now, a season pass was included with all new retail copies of the game to play this app for free (for Season 1 only). If you did not buy this new, chances are you do not have a redeemable code and you will have to pay to play this app. The season pass costs 2,400msp (Microsoft Points), which equates to $30.00 USD. You can purchase the season pass after you have downloaded the app.
In this game, you will watch interactive chapters and clips of the show Sesame Street to unlock achievements with your Kinect. The game is real simple. Some achievements require you to "touch" objects, others ask you to find and take a picture of them. There are others that just require you to watch a clip. There is minimal strain to you while playing this game.
These steps can be done in any order.
Step 1 - Episode Chapters (23 for 732)
Luckily you don’t have to watch an entire episode to unlock these achievements. You can choose an episode and select to start a specific chapter. When the app starts, press to move over to 'Library' and select 'Interactive Episodes'. Choose your episode, use to move over to 'Chapter Select' and select the chapter you want.
You must watch the entire chapter to unlock the achievement that it’s for, however. Most of them are around 5 minutes each (some run longer). The chapters that require you to find 20 objects run about 10 minutes each. You are looking at around 3 hours total (depending on your speed) for this step.
Step 2 - Clips (14 for 170)
The good thing about this step is that you don’t actually have to watch any clips fully. All you need to do is start them then quit. And since one clip might unlock two or even three achievements, that makes this step that much quicker. You’re looking at around 10-15 minutes tops for this step.
- Start the App
- 'Library' > 'Top Clips' > 'Characters'
- Choose a character and refer to the guide for specific clips.
- To end it, press , move over to 'Stop' and press again.
Step 3 - Miscellaneous (5 for 98)
Lastly, there are five achievements not directly related to chapters or clips:
- "Just for You" - You watched a Featured Playlist!
- "Make it a Keeper" - You marked a photo or video in the journal as a keeper!
- "Fashionista" - You stood in front of mirror and Cooper dressed like you!
- "Abby’s Flying Fairy School" - You watched 10 episodes of Abby's Flying Fairy School!
- "Bert and Ernie’s Adventures" - You watched 10 episodes of Bert and Ernie's Adventures!
This step will take you no more than 10 minutes to complete.
Step 4: Play through every episode
You will actually have to play everything. Or at least, almost everything. Almost every scene from every episode has an achievement attached to it, and some of the scenes require a minimum level of movement for the achievement to unlock. However, some scenes (like the Grover Knover or Begin It to Win It scenes) have only one achievement attached to it across all the scenes. As a result, if you already have the achievement for the scene, you can just fast forward to the next one.
Step 5: Mop Up
A few achievements are actually very easy to miss, particularly the ones for dancing along to the episode's song. If you did miss an achievement, check the guide below and find the scene you need to play. After the scene has finished, you can quit out to the main menu and the achievements will unlock.
Glitchy achievements: Smartglass
Smartglass functionality for this app is not available in all regions. However, even in regions where Smartglass is available, you may have issues getting it to work. It will work with a smartglass device and a console with an American or British account on it, though. So if you are not able to get Smartglass to function to work, you will need to create a new XBox LIVE account. See the guide for a full walkthrough on how to do this.
Conclusion:
In the end, the only thing that the Second Season of Kinect Sesame Street TV takes is time. None of the achievements take any skill at all for people with a basic grasp of the English language and the ability to make basic arm movements. Congratulations on your easy 2000.
