Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Achievements

Out of Your League

Kill an enemy 4 levels higher than you.

The levels of enemies can be seen by the color of their name above their head. Yellow is your level, orange is two levels above you, and red is four. Simply venture to unknown areas using your map () to find a red-tagged enemy. To make the fight simple, save a Reckoning ability with which to kill him. The damage from your attacks will help kill any surrounding creatures and easily help you dispatch the mob.

If you leave the starting zone for the zone to the southeast (Haxhi) you should be able to find a thresh that's easy to kill, especially with DLC armor and weapons, and a saved Reckoning. Alternatively, load up the Autosave that the game creates just after the tutorial and head to Gorhart. Commit a crime and agree to jail, then escape and (with a Reckoning), attack and kill either the other prisoner. Open his cell with the switch near the chest that your equipment is in.

How do you know if an enemy is 4 levels higher than you? I have defeated at least 10 very large enemies with red names and probably around 5 enemies with actual character names and still nothing... Im playing on Hard btw so I doubt that affects this... as a matter of fact I would think it would help.

Some enemies have orange and red names depending on how stronge they are compared to you. I went into the wolds at lv 4 and gave everything i had to kill 1 bandit then ran away. Thats how i got it.

If your a decent level (20+), go into a big city where there are city guards and attack a guard. Enter reckoning mode makes it much easier.

If you can't find red mobs, just start a level 1 character and run as far east as possible to the plains area.

Easy to get very early on. Steal a book from the shop in the first village golhart or whatever it's called and get sent to jail. Break out of jail for that achv then wait for the guards to walk off and throw the lever next to the chest. This open the cell to the right. Kill the prisoner and this achv unlocks

I have tried all these methods and none of them have worked for me. I am level 28 now and have fought numerous enemies with red names (including Nisakru Tyrants). I doubt its glitched its probably just that I havent fought an enemy 4 levels above me. I just wish I knew a good place to fight one. Ive been following the main guest (I am currently in Adessa) and have completed the Ballads and the Warsworn questlines. I have also completed the House of Valor and have done all optional battles in the arena... I figured Id run across something by now...

I went to Adessa and attacked the guards in Reckoning mode, if you're a highish level (i'm 20) then you need to beat a Gatekeeper, he's a little legion looking guy and make sure you inflict the killer blow rather than him dying from flames etc.

I have yet to get this achievement still. I have tried every method suggested from levels 1 to 20 to 40 and I still have not unlocked this achievement. How Red is Red? Because I KNOW I have fought numerous enemies that were Red and still nothing. This is very irritating... I dont want to have to wait for the DLC to 1000 this.

What i did was just make a new character and got arrested then escaped and killed the guards. You might also wanna release the other prisoners and use a bow, it helps more than you think.

I was level 4 and just did what Angelic Creed suggested - I ran the heck into the Wolds, and then killed a bandit. Worked like a charm! Took a little time though...

just one question about the difficulty-settings: if i play on hard, save, change the difficulty to "easy" for this achievement only and after this i reload my old save - will i still be able to unlock the achievement for beating the game on hard?

Erydan I'm pretty sure as long as you don't change the difficulty for the one you're actually playing it should be alright.

I did it just like #6 said! I was playing on Hard, so it was actually quite difficult, until I eventually figured out a pattern and got it!

At lv 20 I went to RATHIR with a full fate energy bar and I drunk every potion I could get my hands on for extra output and defence. Then I attacked a CITYGAURD with fate energy and ofc she got help , I kept on going on my original target , dodging the attacks and got the achievement.

COMFIRMED! On easy...Started a new game, rushed through the well mission, and meet the fateweaver. Picked up my DLC suff, ran out of the city (Gorhart) took out enough bad guys to fill my fate meter. Fast traveled back to Gorhart, commited a crime. When in jail I made a save (you get 1 lockpick) picked the lock, grabbed my stuff, opened up the other prison door, fate weaved, and took out the prisoner with my Omni-Blades! and it popped!

Confirmed on Comment 6. I killed the poor guy while he was still rotting in his cell. Didn't have to open the lever to let him out or fate weave.

Went to Adessa as a lvl 16. Using a couple of fate potions, killed the first Preatorian I saw. Easy Cheevy.

Get sent to jail in Gorhart. Break out. Kill the guard with the great sword first. He is your LVL 4. Use your power to make it easier. Be sure to block with your shield, because he packs a punch when your only LVL 2. And once he's dead it should unlock. You also can get the break out of jail achievement.

Level 1... ran through the woods. Lots of yellow names. Checked the tree dudes and the trolls in Haixi. Orange names. Ran all the way to the Detyre desert and picked a fight with a Sorcerer. RED NAME!
... Finally managed not to die. Got achievement. NOT best choice of enemy to fight. o_o;
