Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Achievements

A Wink and a Smile

15
Succeed at 50 Persuasion attempts.

In conversations with NPCs there will occasionally be options that arise where you can persuade the NPC for items, gold, help, etc. These are highlighted in green text and can be found on the radial wheel, inside of dialogue. There will be a percentage next to it which shows your chance of success. It will be wise to invest points in, and seek out trainers for, Persuasion to maximize the number of outcomes towards this 50. Save often so that you may revert, if need be, to pass all attempts.

A large list of quests that can offer persuasion attempts has been compiled HERE.

Does anyone know a good way to get this achievement? I just beat the main quest and I'm 19 hours in the game and I've probably had like 15 total chances to make a persuasion attempt.

Just do every quest you can find and if you come across a persuasion challenge, try it and if you don't get it, reload a save and try again. I'm over 40 hours gametime just finished all the house quests and haven't finished the main questline yet and I don't have this achievement yet.

I seem to be finding the most persuasions in the big Cities, had quite a few in rathir aprox 5 or more, YSA has 4-5 at least 3 on 1 quest, Camp moondown in alabastra has at least 5, there is 3 more in the forsaken plains just outside of Emaire from a man named Elrod edman. there is 3 extra underground in rathir after u complete the temple of lyria quest, does anyone know how to get the temple of lyria quest i cant get these persuasions yet, and i must be really close to the 50 =( done over 110 side quests.

Another idea would be the persuassions attemps on guards when your bribeing, I have not tested this yet but imo its still a persuassion attempt so should work just costly lol.

Yeah I'm just now trying to get those achievements and not seeing it either. Figured it'd have it since the persuasion skill specifies pursadeing the guards to lower crime price... but oh well.

I did the get caught 25 times. i have max in persuasion and never got the option to bribe once=(

i think the max persuasion just lowers the price of paying off your crime, there's no actual option to "bribe" the guards (a la skyrim).

Just finished game with over 100 hours into it and did not get this achievement. Since there's no viewable Status count for this achievement I have no idea how many more I need and I've done all the side quests, main quests and numerous tasks (179 completed quests). Does anyone know if successful persuasion attempt count will carry over into a new game?

According to a loading screen, the game gives you more options if you level certain skills. I haven't noticed anything like that, but hopefully putting extra ranks into Persuasion will give me more opportunities to use it.

Finally got this achievement on my 2nd play through just before I got to Mel Senshir. Keep in mind that you have to complete 50 persuasions in one play-through: successful persuasions do not stack!

Why doesn't this game keep track of this somewhere? I've been persuading everyone I've gotten the chance to do it on so far. I'm not sure if I'm on 30 or 48 successful attempts by now. Gah!

Does anyone know if crime bribes count? I am guessing they do not but I thought I should find out for sure.

Question, are there persuasion attempts in the DLC's and would they stack of the main game?

There are a few persuasion attempts in both DLCs. I've gone through both DLCs, the main story line, and most of the faction quests - still no achievement :(

This wasn't a problem for me. After finishing all main quest and faction quests, I had done roughly 30. Then I clicked on the the link provided in this achievement description and finished it off.
I would recommend taking all side quests as soon as you see them available (even if you're not going to do them right away). That way you can just pick the ones that have persuasion attempt in them.

Ok people i got this achievement today and all i can say is it isn't hard basic tips :

Always save before any major conversation because you never know.

There are the occassional side quests or tasks that give you an option to get more money or get extra information out of an NPC.

Do all faction quests each one has adleast 1 at a minimum and don't forget the cradle of summer has a quest to get staff pieces i believe all but one didnt have a persuasion.

When looking through your sidequest list don't assume ones that say kill won't eventually give you a chance because they do.

I haven't finished the main stroyline completely yet i have the DLC but i haven't started them yet so can't say whether they contribute and as i didnt keep count i can't tell whether bribes or the ^dispe

Logged over 150 hours into KoAR across four files, and persuade has been maxed out. Even began a tally in a new file specifically designed for this achievement and when 50 was hit, no achievement. Does this glitch like the harvest achievement?
