Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Achievements

Kill 50 Scavs.

Scavs look similar to Niskaru, but also have a projectile acid they spit at you. You won't have 50 just by completing the main quest, so once you're done with that you can get about a dozen kills from just killing the ones in Undersea Fasting, Cliffbreak Fasting and Souldeep Fasting, then sleep at Gravehal Keep for 48 hours to respawn them and repeat until it unlocks.

Note: If you kill a Scav with one hit (such as with a powerful Meteor spell), the kill for some reason will not count. Use normal weapon attacks to be safe.

Finding enough of these is tough. Unless you can go back to a previous place to find more have respawned then it will be hard to get. I know when you fight The Whispering Witch she summons some to fight you, but she only summoned up to 6 for me after them she didn't summon anymore.

I've killed over 80 scavs and didn't get an achievement. Does anyone know what's causing this glitch? I got all the other ones towards the end of the dlc and then started farming the caves for scavs. Is there something I'm missing here?

My first playthrough of the DLC this achievement glitched on me, I killed at least 80 scavs with no achievement. This might have happened because I was using Meteor to kill 2-3 at a time. I reloaded a save before I started the DLC and rushed through till I unlocked Cliffbreak Fasting, Undersea Fasting and Gravehall Keep(to rest).

I only used my staff to kill the scavs this time. I killed 4 in the cave before the town, 5 clearing out Gravehall then did Undersea and Cliffbreak runs for 11 per run, resting in Gravehall after the runs to reset the scavs. I got the achievement on my 58th scav kill.

My guess as to why the 58th and not the 50th kill is I killed 2 with one staff attack once, a couple died from DoTs and a few of the killing blows were from the npcs. So maybe the game didn't

I kept a very close eye on my scav kills, counting each one from the very beginning, writing down each kill & the achevo didn't pop up for me until kill 72. So glad it finally came up :)

After killing 103 on top of however many I killed initially clearing the DLC, I decided I was doing something wrong. Not so much that I was wrong but hadn't overcome the bug in this achievement.

You need to remove your gear to the point where you don't one shot the scavs anymore. Scavs that are killed in one hit do not count towards the achievement. After removing all of my gear but my weapon and THEN killing 50, I was able to get the achievement.

I only used my sword to kill scavs, though I assume if you use spells that don't kill in one hit I would think they would work too. I can't confirm either way for using your fate ability to kill scavs.

killing scavs on reckoning mode still counts for the achievement?

I accidentally 1 shotted a couple with a spell, which was Tempest I believe, and I also killed a few in Reckoning mode as well. Still unlocked the achievement at 50. Not sure if they fixed it or IF there was no BUG to begin with. Just like Gears of war SERIOUSLY 10000/10000 achievement unlocked

I feel like I got this achievement earlier than I should have. I was keeping track of how many Scavs I've killed after completing every main/side quest and it unlocked after killing 18 of them. So I'm assuming I killed the other 32 from the main/side quests, though it doesn't seem like I killed that many.

Same as above, I did the DLC and was careful to deliver the killing blow to Scavs with my weapon. After finishing everything else in the DLC, I got this achievement during my very first run through the 3 Fastings. I killed about 6 or 7 more Scavs this way, and got the achievement. Apparently I must have killed 40+ during regular play. I used my magic abilities to get their health way down, then delivered the killing blow with my Chakrams, and got the achievement easily.

Just got this yesterday - for anyone looking for more of these there are an 3 Scavs in the Flooded cavern you go through at the start of the DLC which are pretty easy to reach, additional to the ones noted above.
