Madden NFL 08 is a quick and easy 1000 and can also be quite enjoyable for people who like American Football or even people who are new to the sport. Whether you are a novice or a pro at sports games, with the help of Supersim you will be able to complete this game in no time.

Step 1: Supersim
For your first game go to 'Play Now' and pick the New England Patriots as your team. Then choose the Houston Texans for the CPU to play as. Press to accept the teams (Make sure you are playing as the Patriots and not the Texans). Change the quarter length to 15 Minutes and change the skill level to All-Madden. Then press again to advance to the game. Choose either 'Heads' or 'Tails' but it doesn't really matter because you won't be playing anyway. When you get the option to choose your first play press to go to the menu and select Supersim. Press the button and select end of game. This will sim you to the end of the game but will also earn you some achievements. You can do this method as many times as you want until the achievements stop popping up. After doing this several time you should have around 500, but the amount can vary from person to person.

Step 2: 5 Minute Quarters
In total there are seven achievements that require the quarter length to be a maximum of five minutes. They are "650 Yards on Offense", "Score 84 Points", "10 Catches in a Row", "400 Yards on Offense", "40 Rush Attempts with One Player", "4 Sacks", and "200 Kick Return Yards". The first four can easily be attained in the same match if the difficulty is on Rookie. If you are still struggling then you can change the sliders in Settings to make the CPU worse. It is then best if you complete the next three in separate games so you can concentrate on whichever achievement you need to make sure you get it. There are also two achievements that require a minimum quarter length of five minutes. These are "No Dropped Passes" and "No Sacks Allowed". Both achievements can easily be done on Rookie and can also be achieved using the Supersim technique.

Conclusion:
To gain any achievements you have left just go to Play Now and try and earn them rather than trying to win the game. You can also use two controllers to gain achievements that you are finding tricky to make them much easier.

There are 48 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Complete a 60 yard pass.

    See "90 Yard Pass".

  • Complete a 60 yard run.

    See "80 Yard Run".

  • Complete a 90 yard pass.

This is easily done with two controllers. Get tackled between your 10 yard line and your End Zone and pick any passing play type. Then with the second controller select "FG Block" for defense. As soon as you hike it throw it to one of your Wide Receivers and run in for a touchdown. You don't have to throw it the full 90 yards as long as you throw it to someone on your team he can run the full length. If you don't have two controllers, I would recommend playing with the Dolphins and throwing the ball to Ted Ginn Jr. With his speed he can easily run the full distance without being tackled.

  • Complete an 80 yard run.

This is also quite easy on Rookie. Just get to your own 20 yard line. Then, I would recommend choosing "Strong Toss Left" or "Stretch". The best running backs to use to get this achievement are Willie Parker (Steelers), Landainian Tomlinson (Chargers) and Brian Westbrook (Eagles). Just give it to them and look for an opening in the players. Remember, sometimes it can be easier to run straight through the middle of the field rather than running around, dodging everyone.

  • Get 2 interceptions with one player.

    See "Intercept 5 Passes".

  • Intercept 5 total passes in one game.

Pick a team with good cornerbacks like the Bronco's. Then, highlight their receiver - they will use this receiver the most - and your corner will stay on him. If the ball gets thrown to him, your corner will most likely intercept or deflect it. Put the skill level on Rookie and the quarter length to fifteen minutes. Once you get 5 interceptions, supersim to the end of the game. This can also be used for "Deflect 4 Passes".

  • Deflect 4 or more passes with one player.

    See "Intercept 5 Passes".

  • Sack the Quarterback 7 times with one player in one game.

A sack is it is when you tackle the Quarterback before he gets a chance to throw it. You can only sack the Quarterback if they have chosen a pass play, which means if they are giving to a Running Back and you tackle them it will not count. This can be quite tricky trying to do it legit against the CPU. Luckily, there are are easier ways to do it.

You can use the two controllers technique. Control the Quarterback with the second controller and run him into one of your players seven times. Or you can turn off the offsides in the Game Settings. To do this you have to be on the main menu. Go to "My Madden" then "Settings" and then "Gameplay". Press when you have the "Game Rules" highlighted to modify them. Move the offsides slider all the way down to zero. These methods can also be used for "8 Tackles with One Player".

  • Get 8 tackles with one player in one game.

See "7 Sacks with One Player".

  • Recover 2 fumbles in one game with one player.

This achievement is all down to luck. Turn the offsides off, put the skill level on Rookie, and change the quarter length to 15 minutes. Just keep sacking there Quarterback. Eventually he will fumble and hopefully one of your players will pick it up. Just keep doing this until you recover the two fumbles and then you can supersim to the end of the game.

  • Force 3 fumbles with one player.

See "Recover 2 Fumbles" for help. You don't have to pick them up just make them happen.

  • Achieve 200 Kick Return Yards with One Player. Max 5min Qtr.

For this achievement, use a team with a good return man. The best two are the Miami Dolphins with Ginn or the Chicago Bears with Hester. Personally I used the Bears because the team has a higher overall rating. Try and win the toss at the start of the game and choose to 'Receive'. Score a touchdown with that return and then let the other team score a touchdown. They will then have to kick it back to you. Try and return that one for a touchdown and you should have about 200 Return Yards. If you don't, then repeat the process again. Have a look at the "Game Stats" to make sure that you scored all 200 with the same player.

  • Get 200 punt return yards in one game with one player.

This is very similar to "200 Kick Return Yards", but is easier because there will be more Punts than Kick offs. Again, use either Hester or Ginn. This achievement is easier to get if you do it with the "7 Sacks with One Player" achievement. Just turn offsides off and sack the Quarterback three times with the same player, then they will punt it. Its best if they punt it from the 50 yard line so you can return it for most the length of the field.

  • Throw 4 touchdown passes in one game.

This is easy on Rookie. Have the quarter length at 5 minutes and you can easily get it before half time. Play as the New England Patriots against the Houston Texans and keep throwing to Randy Moss who is your receiver. He catches most of your throws and usually scores a few touchdowns each game.

  • Score 84 or more points in one game. Max 5min Qtr.

Play as the New England Patriots against the Houston Texans. If you have the difficulty on Rookie and the quarter length on the maximum 5 minutes it's not to hard. If your still having trouble go onto "My Madden" from the main menu and then "Roster". Look at the team you will be using and press then choose 'Edit Player'. Here you can boost the stats of any and all of your players in whichever position you want.

  • Catch ten passes in a row with one player. Max 5min Qtr.

For this achievement, play as the San Diego Chargers and throw it to their Tight End Antonio Gates. When you have the ball and have to choose your play instead of going to "Ask Madden" go to "By Player". Then scroll across until you get to TE. Select Antonio Gates and pick "Dual TE Flat" as your play. When you hike it wait for a second and then press again to pass to Gates. He will be unmarked out by the touchline. Just keep doing that ten times.

  • Get 20 completions in a row with one player.

See "10 Catches in a Row".

  • Achieve 300 passing yards in one game.

    See "500 Pass Yards".

  • Pass for 500 yards in one game.

This may sound hard but its actually very easy. There is no time limit that you have to do this in so you don't have to rush to get it done. Play as the Patriots against the Texans, put the skill level on Rookie and have the quarter length as 15 minutes. Just keep playing and checking the "Game Stats" from the pause menu. Once your Quarterback has 500 passing yards next to his name you can supersim to the end of the game.

  • Complete 80 percent of the attempted passes in one game.

    See "100 Percent Pass Completion".

  • 100 Percent Pass Completion.

Probably one of the easiest achievements on the game. Put the skill level on Rookie and the quarter length as 1 minute. Pass it once and catch it. (If you don't catch it then quit the game and start it again). Then don't pass for the rest of the game - just run with your Halfback.

  • Complete 25 passes in one game.

These don't have to be in a row and don't have to be done with the same player. Play on Rookie with 5 minute quarters and you should be able to get it with time to spare.

  • Catch one pass with seven players.

This isn't too tricky. It's easy to make seven catches in the game, if you have 5 minute quarters. You have your three main Wide Receivers, two Tight Ends and your two HalfBacks to throw it to. You can also throw it to your Fullback, if you have only caught it with six people and need one more. Look at the 'Game Stats' from the pause menu to check that you have caught it with seven different players.

  • Get 200 passing yards in a game.

    See "500 Pass Yards".

  • Get 2 touchdown catches with one player.

You can do this with pretty much any team if the skill level is on Rookie. If you have the quarter length as five minutes, you can probably catch two touchdown passes in the first quarter.

  • Achieve 150 receiving yards with one player.

    See "200 Receiving Yards".

  • Get 200 receiving yards with one player.

You should try and get this when you're going for 500 Pass Yards. Make sure you keep throwing the ball to one of your Wide Receivers until he gets to the 200 yard mark. Once he has 200 yards you can start throwing it to any of your Receivers for the other 300 yards. Put the difficulty on Rookie and the quarter length as 15 minutes. Once you have 500 Pass Yards and 200 Receiving Yards you can just supersim to the end of the game.

  • Get 100 reception yards by two players.

This is just like "200 Receiving Yards", but instead of doing it all with one player get 100 yards with one player and then another 100 yards with another player.

  • Get 10 receptions with One Player.

See "10 Catches in a Row".

  • Rush for 200 yards or more with one player in one game.

    See "250 Rush Yards".

  • Attempt 40 rushes with one player in one game. Max 5min Qtr.

This is a lot easier than it sounds. Choose a play "By Player" and select your half back and just run it for every single play. Turn off injuries just in case because when I attempted this my halfback got injured with 39 attempts to his name.

  • Average 20 yards rushing per attempt with one player in one game.

The best player to attempt this with is LaDainian Tomlinson - the San Diego Chargers halfback. You can check the players rushing average any time in the game by going to the game stats. Once you have over 20 yards just throw the ball for the rest of the game. Don't supersim once you have over 20 yards average as runs made by the computer will go towards it and may lower it.

  • Get 150 yards or more rushing in one quarter with one player.

This must be done with one player, so again I recommend using the Chargers with LaDainian Tomlinson. Set the quarters to 15 minutes and once you get 150 yards just supersim to the end. Again, just to be safe you may want to turn injuries off before you start. "Strong Toss Left" is a good running play to gain a lot of ground.

  • Rush for 250 yards with one player in one game.

See "150 Rush Yards in One Quarter". Instead of simming once you get 150 yards, sim once you get 250 yards. This does not have to be done all in one quarter.

  • Get 100 rush yards with One Player.

See "150 Rush Yards in One Quarter".

  • Get 100 rushing yards with two players.

This is basically the same as "100 Rush Yards with One Player", but instead of just using LaDainian Tomlinson, mix it up between him and the Chargers second halfback Michael Turner.

  • Achieve 400 yards of offense in one game. Max 5min Qtr.

    See "650 Yards on Offense".

  • Get 650 yards on offense. Max 5min Qtr.

This is a combined total of your rushing and passing yards. The easiest way is to set the difficulty to rookie and choose a good passing team like the Patriots and play against a bad defensive team like the Texans or the Bills. If you pass the ball a lot, you should get this easily.

  • Don't drop a pass for an entire game. Min 5min Qtr.

The easiest way to do this is throw the ball once and catch it, if you don't then restart the game. Once you've caught it just run for the rest of the game. Don't supersim once you have made the catch as dropped passes by the computer will still count towards this.

  • Don't allow a sack for an entire game. Min 5min Qtr.

The easiest way to do this is to just run it with your halfback for the whole game as that way you can't get sacked.

  • Pass for three 2 point conversions in one game.

Once you score a touchdown instead of choosing to take a field goal got to play type, "By Player"; select your Tight End and choose the play "TE Dual Flat". Throw it to him and get into the end zone for an easy two-point conversion. Repeat this two more times.

  • Rush for three 2 point conversions in one game.

Once you score a touchdown, instead of choosing to take a field goal select either a "Half Back Dive" or a "Full Back Dive" and make it into the end zone. Repeat this two more times.

  • Average 20 yards receiving with one player in one game.

This is much like "Average 20 Yards Rushing". Try and throw the ball for over 20 yards in your first throw. Once you've done that, just run the ball for the rest of the game. If you don't get over 20 yards on your first throw, either restart or keep throwing long passes until you have gained your average.

  • Get 3 interceptions in one game.

    See "Intercept 5 Passes".

  • Get 3 rushing touchdowns with one player.

Again, I recommend using LaDainian Tomlinson with the Chargers. Make sure you score all three touchdowns with him by checking the game stats.

  • Get 4 sacks with one player in one game. Max 5min Qtr.

See "7 Sacks with One Player".

  • Kick a 40 or more yard field goal.

You must kick a field goal anywhere between the 23 to the 32 yard line. If you are having trouble, go to your gameplay settings before the game and raise your kicking power to 100.

  • Kick a 50 yard or more field goal.

You have to kick a field goal from anywhere from the 33+ yard line. If you are having trouble go into the gameplay settings and adjust your kicking power to 100. Try to get tackled in line with the posts, so you don't have to angle your kick. 40 Yard Field Goal will not unlock with this. You must do them both separately.
