Introduction:
Welcome to Madden NFL 11, one of the easiest Madden games to get 1000 in. Most of the achievements can be unlocked simply by playing 4 or 5 games, or less if you’re smart. By the way, “No OTP” stands for “No Online Team Play.”

As with previous Madden’s, they’ve changed the way the game is played, so it might take some getting used to, but the gameplay itself remains basically intact. Major overhauls are the playbook, kicking and the all new Strategy Pad. You can still play the game the old way with the playbook intact or try the new Gameflow option, but the kicking and Strategy Pad are unchangeable. The Strategy Pad supposedly simplifies the play calling from the line for both offense and defense since it’s all done with the D-Pad instead of multiple buttons. I personally liked the older way better. If you’ve played other Madden games, or NCAA Football games for that matter, playing this game should come naturally.

Obviously, the game is much simpler if you use two controllers and preferably have two people playing. What we want to do is concentrate as much as possible on one or two positions first, like QB and WR, then work on another, like RB. When on defense, work on sacks, then fumbles, then interceptions. By focusing on certain positions first lets you not worry about them later on.

First off, what you want to do is go to the My Madden > Settings > Game Options menu and set Fatigue down to 0 (zero). Also, go to My Madden > Settings > Penalties and set Offsides to 0 (zero). That will make it easier to get the sacks and forced fumbles, and also for getting those long runs and catches. Also, for the “Laces Out” achievement, turn up Kick Power and Kick Accuracy to 100 in Settings > Special Teams. Also, you want to set the quarter length to 5 minutes. There are 3 time-based achievements, but 5 minutes is good for all three of them (one is max. 7 minute quarters and the other is min. 3 minute quarters). By setting the quarter to 5 minutes you enable most achievements to be unlocked in a few games.

Step One: Madden Moments
This achievement is going to take a while. If you simply want a quick 900 skip this step. There are 49 moments that you have to play through with varying difficulty, and you cannot change any settings. You can, however, edit the team’s rosters to make your team better and the CPU team worse and also trade key players to your team to make a super team. It's suggested that you do the Madden Moments first, thus eliminating the need to play unnecessary Play Now games. The majority of the achievements can be unlocked by playing the Madden Moments. Steps 2-4 will detail what you need to do to clean up any achievements you didn't get yet.

Step Two: Verizon Master Strategist
If you didn't play the demo and unlocked this achievement there, you’ll want to knock this out of the way first since it’s relatively easy. From the main menu, go to My Madden > Gameplanning > Create Offensive Gameplan. Press to select a playbook, and then once it loads up, press to save it. The achievement will unlock after you save.

Step Three: Defense
Depending on if you won the coin toss or not, you’re either on offense or defense. If you’re on defense first, start off by going for “Sack Master.” You can get 3 of the 5 out of the way immediately with offsides turned off. Next time on defense, sack the quarterback 2 more times then try for either the forced fumbles or interception achievements. That’s really it for defense, but it will take some time to get these as getting interceptions and recovering fumbles puts you back on offense. Also, if you force a punt, try and get “Old Spice Swagger Return.”

Step Four: Offense
Work on a plan that will maximize your achievements unlocking in the shortest amount of time possible. You can technically get “Man Dozer,” Home Run” and “The Elusive Man” in one play if you’re careful and not get tackled. That leaves only one rushing achievement. Try for “Winning Isn’t Everything” and “Deadly Accurate” at the same time as well. That will just leave one receiver achievement and two quarterback achievements which can be easily unlocked in the next possession or two.

Cleanup/Conclusion:
Depending on if you got the “Comeback Kids” or “Did I Break It?” achievement, go for the other in another game. Also do any other random achievements (like “Thanks for Coming”) you may have missed in the next one or two games. Enjoy an easy 1000.

Tips:
- You can use two controllers
- You can edit any team's stats
- Using SuperSim will disable achievements
- It's recommended you use unlimited Rewinds
- You can change sliders and any settings to your favor
- If you are having trouble causing fumbles (against the CPU), change the slider in CPU Skills to 0 (zero).
- If you are having trouble kicking the 60 yard field goal, go to Settings > Special Teams and turn up the Kick Power and Accuracy to 100.
- If you are having trouble with the rushing/breaking tackles achievements (against the CPU), change the sliders in CPU Skills down to 0 (zero) (Rush Blocking, Reaction Time, etc.).
- By doing the Madden Moments first, it will eliminate having to play some extra games. A majority of the achievements can be unlocked simply by doing the Madden Moments.

There are 24 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Return 2 kicks for touchdowns in one game with one player (no OTP)

For this, the opposing team will have had to have scored at least twice, or if it’s the start of the game or half (depending on the coin toss), only have scored once.

Using the same method as “Old Spice Swagger Return,” use two controllers and kick towards the edge of the field (not going out of bounds). When the receiver catches it, just run straight, avoiding the defenders. Have the second controller move the defenders to the opposite side of the field so they don’t tackle the receiver. Score a touchdown twice and the achievement is yours. Make sure you are using the same kick returner both times.

Or, if you only have one controller, play a really bad defensive team with a good kick returner and weave through the defenders. The Pro Bowl game seems to be a good game to do this on. Or, edit an entire team's speed to 12 and play against that team.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game. (If you've met the requirements of this achievement you can simply quit the game and it will unlock.)

  • Force 3 fumbles in a game (no OTP)

With offsides off, line up behind the CPU’s QB and tackle him while pressing (strip ball). Do this three times. If you are having trouble, go to Settings > CPU Skill > Rushing and set Fumbles to 0 (zero). This will make it a lot easier to strip the ball.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Rush for 50 yards after the first hit in one game (no OTP)

This can be done concurrently with “Home Run.” Use to run through at least one defender, and then head for the endzone (at least 50 yards). If you’re fast enough, you should outrun all the defenders. Easiest done with two controllers and/or increased stats. The 50 yards are cumulative, so you don't need to get them on one play (although that may happen anyways)

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Stay in the pocket for 10 seconds (no OTP)

In a Shotgun offense, after you hike the ball, simply run straight back and outrun the defenders. It helps to be as close to the opponent’s endzone as possible to give you more room to run. After 10 seconds, run sideways and throw the ball away () as to not mess up a touchdown opportunity, lost yardage or a penalty. If using two controllers, have the defense set up in Zone Coverage or Prevent and keep pulling back the defenders away from the QB (only a few go after him in those formations).

Achievement unlocks at the end of the play.

  • Win a game by at least 59 points (max qtr. len. 7 min, no OTP)

The easiest way is to use two controllers set at 1 minute quarters (or however long you think it might take). If the opposing team has the ball, simply punt it back to you. Set their defense to “Field Goal Block” and have your receivers run a straight route every time. Run up the score.

Or, if you have one controller, turn offsides off and keep sacking the QB when you are on defense, forcing the punt. That way you are free to score as much as you like and the CPU team won’t. Make sure you set the quarter lengths to the appropriate time to get 59+ points.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Catch 21 passes in a game with one player (no OTP)

Before starting the game, go to Options and turn off fatigue. Then, using two controllers, have the defense line up in a “Field Goal Block” every time. Have any receiver run a straight route or a screen pass and hike the ball. Toss the ball to the receiver and immediately have him run out of bounds. Do this 20 more times with the same receiver. It’s best to call a hurry-up offense so that the receiver is in the line up every time.

If you have only one controller, use the same method as “Deadly Accurate” but make sure you use only one player.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Return a punt for a touchdown (no OTP)

This is easiest with two controllers. Have the other team punt the ball to either side of the field. After you catch it, have the other team run to the opposite side of the field giving you a clear shot at the endzone.

Or, if you only have one controller, play a really bad defensive team. It might take a couple of tries if you use one controller. You also may want to edit the opponent team’s roster so all their Speed is 12 so you can breeze right past them.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the play.

  • Win after being behind in the last 2 min of a game (no OTP, min qtr. len. 3 min)

Using two controllers, set the quarter length to 3 minutes. Have the second controller be one touchdown (or field goal) ahead of you at the 2 minute warning of the 4th quarter. Then, score so that you are winning when the game ends. It’s easier to have the second controller up by only a field goal so you only have to score one touchdown.

Or, if you have only one controller, use the same method as above for the CPU by having them be winning by only by a field goal (or less than a touchdown). Then score a touchdown in the last two minutes and prevent the CPU from scoring again.

This can also be done by completing the first Madden Moments game.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Intercept 5 passes in a game (no OTP)

If you have only one controller, when the QB throws the ball, quickly hit until your selected defender is near the receiver. Hit to intercept.

Two Controller Method by Philli Vanilli:
Player 1 (your profile) - Saints on Rookie
Player 2 (open profile) - Lions to Custom (+20 for all)
    Rewinds - Unlimited

For the Lions (on offense), go to the playbook, "Standard Pass" and pick "Inside Cross." For Saints (on defense), go to the playbook, "Man Zone Coverage" and pick "QB Contain."

Player 2 hikes the ball. Wait 2 seconds then soft throw to the receiver (tap button) and it will likely get picked (defensive player doesn't have to be controlled by Player 1). Get tackled and punt the ball back to the Lions. Repeat.

While testing out this method, I had 8 interceptions at halftime.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Rush for over 200 yards in a game with one player (no OTP)

Easiest with two controllers set at 1 minute qtrs. If the opposing team has the ball, simply punt it back to you and run out at your own 5 yard line. Set the defense in “Field Goal Block” and have your running back run a toss to the outside. Continue until your running back has over 200 yards rushing.

If using only one controller, pick a team that has a good running back, play a bad defensive team and keep running the ball. Set your quarter length appropriately. You should rack up 200+ yards in no time.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Break 5 tackles in a game with one player (no OTP)

Using the same strategy as “Man Dozer,” hand the ball off to the running back and make sure he breaks at least one tackle per carry by hitting , or if you’re lucky, multiple defenders without being tackled.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Have a perfect passer rating in a game (no OTP)

Set the game to 1 minute qtrs. Complete one pass at least 15 yards with a touchdown. Then just run the ball the rest of the game.

Perfect passer rating is 158.3. Passer rating is calculated using each quarterback's completion percentage, passing yardage, touchdowns and interceptions. A perfect rating requires at least a 77.5% completion rate, at least 12.5 yards per attempt, a touchdown on at least 11.875% of attempts, and no interceptions.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Break an 80+ yard touchdown run (no OTP)

With your team on at least your own team’s 20 yard line, hand off the ball and make a break for it. If you’re fast enough, you should outrun all the defenders. If using two controllers, set the defense in a “Field Goal Block” formation.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the play.

  • Intercept a pass and return it for a touchdown (no OTP)

Use the strategy for “No Offense,” but you have to return the interception for a touchdown. Easier against the CPU.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the play.

  • Have over 100 YAC in one game (no OTP)

YAC is Yards After Catch. The easiest way is to use two controllers. If the opposing team has the ball, punt it back to you. Set the defense in “Field Goal Block” and have your receivers run a straight route every time. Throw to the same receiver until he has over 100 yards after the catch.

Or, if you have one controller, throw to the same receiver a few times until he has over 100 yards after the catch (it’s best to throw him short passes and have him run downfield).

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Win a Fight for the Fumble in the end zone for a TD (no OTP)

This strategy is by using two controllers.

The best way to do this is using two controllers with offsides off and infinite rewinds, but will work very similar using one controller (you just have to get the opposing team near their endzone). Pick a good team for the first controller and a bad team for the second. Set the game up so that the second controller is receiving the kick off. Catch the ball and run out at the 3 or 4 yard line.

Set up a Shotgun play with the second controller which has the QB lined up in the endzone with two running backs. You can also edit the opposing QB’s Carry rating to the lowest possible. You can either use the “Butterfingers” method (editing the Settings so fumbles are easier), try and Big Hit the QB causing him to fumble, or press to strip the ball.

As soon as two opposing players try to recover the fumble, a fumble mini-game will trigger. The idea of this mini-game is to tap the buttons shown and get it into your half of the bar. To make it easier, have the first controller press the right buttons while the second controller presses the wrong ones (or none at all) and you’ll win the fumble.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the play.

    Method by ThrustPumpkin:
    1st - use two controllers.
2nd - whichever controller is assigned to your profile (1st one most likely) kickoff, with the 2nd controller take the return man and run him out of bounds at the 1 or 2 yd line.
    3rd - select
field goal for controller 2 and field goal block for controller 1, also turn offsides off. Take one of the defensive guys and stand him in front of the holder and kicker. start the kick meter and take control of your defender to make sure he BLOCKS the field goal attempt DO NOT TACKLE THE HOLDER if done correctly you should block the attempt and there should be a pile up for the ball in the endzone. if you win you should get the achievement.

  • Have a 92% or higher completion percentage in a game (min 20 att., no OTP)

Keep throwing screen passes at least 20 times and make sure the receiver catches the ball at least 17-19 times. Then run the ball the rest of the game.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Kick a 60+ yard Field Goal (no OTP)

Use any team, but edit the kicker’s stats to 99 for kick power and accuracy. Then, in the main menu, go to My Madden > My Settings > Special Teams, use the sliders to max out the kick power and accuracy to 100. It’s best to aim lower than higher, and make sure you are in the middle of the field to make it easier. Press to start the kick, again for full power and then a third time for accuracy.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the play.

  • Complete the "Super Bowl Sunday" Madden Moment

For this achievement, you have to complete 49 Madden Moments. They are situations in games where you have to change the outcome of what really happened. Some are long or short, some are hard or easy. You can play them legitimately or edit the opposing teams’ roster so that they are bad and you are guaranteed a win. You can also trade key players to your team to make a super team. But you can’t change any of the settings since they are all specific situations.

Once you unlock the last set of Moments, you only have to play the Super Bowl one, you don’t have to play the others leading up to it, so you’re really only playing like 45 or 46 moments.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the final game.

Method by Stanley for the "Super Bowl Sunday" Madden Moment:
    1. Score the TD at the beginning + 2 pt conversion. (So you won't have to go into overtime)
    2. REGULAR kickoff (no onside)
    3. When they run, stop them from getting a first and call a timeout.
    4. Do a "FG BLOCK." When Drew Brees sees this he will audible into a pass play. Once you see the Saints start to switch position, quickly call a defensive audible for a Cover 3 or Deep Zone.
5.) You will eventually pick the ball off or they will keep throwing and incomplete passes will stop the clock. Score a touchdown plus extra point, you win by 1.

  • Hold your opponent to under 100 yards of offense (min qtr. len. 5 min, no OTP)

Set the game to 5 minute quarters (and Rookie if you are having difficulty). Turn offsides off. When the opponent has the ball, simply sack him every time and they’ll be forced to punt. Also, when you kick off (after you score), do an onside kick so they get no return yards. Or if using the two controller method, when the second controller has the ball, simply punt it back to you. You can also turn the play clock off and do a QB Kneel to run the clock down. If the CPU calls a time out, simply get a 1st Down and use QB Kneel again until the opponent runs out of timeouts for the half (each team gets 3 timeouts).

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Record 5 sacks in a game with one player (no OTP)

Turn offsides off and use the same player 5 times to sack the CPU quarterback. Make sure the game registers it as a Sack and not a Tackle (for it to be considered a Sack, the QB must have the intent to throw a forward pass and not cross the line of scrimmage).

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Create a custom Gameplan

From the main menu, go to My Madden > Gameplanning > Create Offensive Gameplan. Press to select a playbook, and then once it loads up, press to save it. The achievement will unlock after you save.

    Achievement unlocks immediately.

Secret achievements

  • Play the Pro Bowl (Franchise Mode)

You do not have to win the game, just play it. At the beginning of a New Franchise, set the quarter length to 1 minute and the difficulty to Rookie (if you want). If you just want this achievement, simply sim through the entire regular season of a franchise up to the Pro Bowl game and choose to play it. When the game is finished and you are back at the Franchise menu, the achievement will unlock.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the game.

  • Nano

    10

Tackle the QB before he can hand the ball off (no OTP)

This one is simple for either one or two controllers. With one controller, it’s luck if the opposing team chooses a running play. For two controllers, just have the second player choose a running play. Either way, turn offsides off and line up behind and to the right of the QB. When the ball is snapped, simply tackle him.

Achievement unlocks at the end of the play.
