I did every mission on the Citadel up to becoming a Spectre then went and got Liara and then did every mission up to the end of the game but never got this achievement.
I don't see how I could have done more missions with her. In my second playthough I had Garis with me the whole way again again never got that achievement.

The best and fastest way to do this is only do the quests on the citadel that you have to do to progress the story, leave the side quests for after you've acquired Liara, then go back and finish the side quests with Liara in your party and bam, you'll get by the time you get to virmire for sure.

I thought I did everything in the proper order but it never unlocked. I unlocked the Quarian long before the end of the game and completed most assignments, including DLC. I'm quite frustrated about it not unlocking, but what can I do besides replay the whole thing if I want 100%...

I played this through 3 times each with different classes for shepard. The hard one is the Asari and I got that 3/4 into the game using her for every possible mission. I am in the 100 % club now.

the way to do this, is simple. get EVERYONE first, then go back and do the citadel missions. its easier if you just get garrus, wrex first. then save tali. then once you become spectre, go straight to Liara. then once you get everybody, proceed with the missions. most of you probably are waiting too long to get Liara and thats why you arnt getting it.

this is complete bollocks of a game & achievements.
I got all the team members first & only did the quest that would enable me to go get the Asari. I have used Garrus & Liara for every mission & assignment & nothing so far.
Im just about to start Virmire & its looking like im not going to get either achievement.
This game is utter garbage for achievements, thank god they got it right in ME2.

This still hasn't unlocked for me. I've now done two full playthroughs with Liara, making sure I pick her up early and then do all side quests with her, and still no luck. Can't be bothered to try again.

I think I got lucky with this one. My 5th playthrough, going for the Hardcore, Asari, and Quarian achievements. Got the Quarian achievemnt early but tried finishing as many missions as possible and the Asari one didn't pop. So I just decided that I would go finish the game and see what I could do after that (maybe run through the DLCs). As soon as my confrontation with Saren started the Asari one popped.

this has to be glitched, i had around 60 missions done and this didnt pop, but quarian ally and completionist did. i maybe did one or two extra missions before getting liara but i should have done enough missions to make up for it. im pissed that i'll have to do another playthrough just for this achievement :/

I still don't have this one, I started a new game to get the AI Hacking and Neural Shock Achievements. I did as suggested; I did every mission/side missions with Liara (about 50 missions) and still no achievement. :/
I'm going to load a save before Illos, and try doing all the DLC missions, maybe that's it.
I'll update if I get it after doing the DLC.

Just completed the game in my 2nd playthrough and still dont have it. On my 1st playthrough I got Liara A.S.A.P. and had her with me every single mission. 2nd playthrough the same story , rescue and keep around. I even got the achievement for completing the majority of the game on 2nd playthrough so that means I did a whole lot of side missions. But still I did not get the achievement. It seems the game will give it randomly or not at all if it doesnt like your playstyle :P

As long as you go straight to liara as soon as you can, and do all the side missions, having the dlc def helps, only costs 480 points for both, you'll be done after completing either feroes or noveria.

If you have the unlucky combination of trying to get this trophy while trying to get the Insanity trophy I would highly recommend using the Thrum Laser XP glitch to boost your character to beat the Krogan Battlemaster.

I did Liara with Tali during my hardcore playthrough. It ended up popping up in the same place the achievement for Ashley did (after convincing that guy to stop using the stimulant).

I've been away for a few months and haven't had the time to play much, but now I'm back and have been playing. So far I still don't have this Achievement, so now in gonna start yet another character to get the Stasis and Singularity achievements as well as take another shot at this one.

I finally did it!
I don't know what I did wrong the first time I tried to get this achievement but I got it this time.
All I did was play from the beginning, DO NOT start any side missions until you get Liara; as soon as you get her then start all side missions first then continue with the main missions. I got the achievement just as I was finishing up on Feros.

Make sure that assignments are completed before returning to the Normandy. Otherwise it will not count towards an ally achievement.

i unlocked this one while my live account was offline because my account got hacked and microsoft was investigating. when they fixed it and restored all my stolen MS pts, the 2 achievements i unlocked during that down time were now not unlocked. i have searched online and some say that my achievement is "indexed" with microsofts servers or something and it will only ever show up if my account is signed in on the console it was being used on during that time.... meaning the hackers console. i decided to go for it again, i have completed all side quests, bring down the sky, and i am now on the citadel during the lockdown part of the story. it still hasnt unlocked. i hope it actually unlocks during ilos, i hope i its not permanently gone.

I did a load of missions with Kaiden and Liara. Got Kaidens achievement before I went to Ilos. Then after doing what missions I had had left before leaving and having nothing pop, I gave up with Liara. Just as I got to Saren at the Citadel, and he threw a grenade at me, Asari Ally popped. So relieved. Was gonna say stuff it for the ally achievements. But now I feel inclined to do them all. Lucky I got this achievement as I heard its causing a lot of problems.

Got Liara's achievement upon activating the console in Ilos to open the gate. I did all missions except 9 on citidel, including the bringing down the sky dlc.

These achievements are time consuming, but easy. I looked at my journal after the Kaiden achievement had popped and noticed that each ally achievement requires you to use them for 55 missions. Just do the side quests and travel to every system. Every cluster within a system has a planet to land on, just do the mission if you want the achievement.

What makes Liara the toughest is you have to use her for between 60-65 missions unlike the others who take much less. With the DLC's there's only about 85 total missions. Crazy close to not finishing without doing the DLCs, just don't miss any task after or do anything before you get Liara.

I started a play through using Ashley and Liara. I did all the Citadel missions I could find, and probably a dozen of the UNC missions, plus both DLC's and then started Noveria. Ashely unlocked before I finished Noveria. Then I started Feros and did a few small missions (shut off water valves, kill alpha Varren, etc.) and Liara unlocked. I was actually pretty surprised they both unlocked so soon, especially Liara. On my previous play through I used Wrex and Tali, Tali unlocked sometime on Virmire but Wrex didn't unlock until right before I fought Saren.
Unfortunately I have to start 1 more play through for Kaiden, but that is the last achievement I need to have all 3 Mass Effect games 100%. :D

What exactly is the deal with the amount of assignments required for this? I have currently done everything I can before Ilos minus collection quests(which I here don't count towards these anyway) and Pinnacle Station and still don't have it. I got Liara and came back to the Citadel to do the side quests and right now between both assignments and missions I have done 63 total quests. The ridiculous thing is that I have actually already unlocked this, but it was while my account was being investigated for being hacked and when MS restored my account it had to have been to a state BEFORE I unlocked the achievement because it vanished. I tried to get it again once doing everything and it never popped. This is attempt number 2. I have also heard that it may be bugged for me because of my hack

^^ Finished the game and it still didn't pop. The only thing I can do is reload to before I started Ilos, do Pinnacle Station and then do the ending again. I'm not sure why it would require significantly more for me so I am beginning to wonder if it really is bugged for me. My first attempt to "reget" this achievement was with the same character I had done it with originally. I figure maybe using the same save might mess it up because it thinks I already have it. This time I tried a new character to no avail. The only other thing I can think of is deleting ALL my game saves and trying a "fresh" playthur, but I really don't want to lose my characters because of importing purposes.

^^ Well it's official, I am physically incapable of getting this... again. I did everything including both DLC's and only missed one side quest(CitadelL Planting a Bug) and it did not unlock. So annoying. No point in worrying about trudging through ME2 on Insanity since I will never get all Mass Effect achievements.

Can anyone say about how many side missions it takes to do this outside of the man quest? I really hate the rover and after playing the whole game with Tali and Liara every level and even "completing a majority of the game" with them (I got the completion achievement when playing with them) the game didn't pop for Liara' achievement. I completed the minimum quests on the Citadel before getting Liara but I picked them all up, does that prevent them from counting as missions for Liara?

Just got this and I can't believe how quickly, quickly being a very relative term considering the games been out for years but I've heard people saying they don't get it until Illos. I got it before Virmire. It is worth noting that I have the Bring Down the Sky DLC, did the Lorik Qui'in (¿spelling?) glitch on Noveria to get over 80% paragon and renegade and did both alignment missions, and I did all the collection assignements, but it was still only 53 that I did and I was sure at least a few of them didn't count. I didn't conplete any of the three UNC missions that you unlock after Noveria, and as I said never even went to Birmire so that means bo assignments on Virmire and Lockdown either. I was actually stunned when it popped up. I honestly don't know how other people aren't getting it

Got cut off, I concluded with, "but i hope that anyone who is still trying to get this is able to."
Also, in "...went to Birmire..." that's a typo, its obviously supposed to be Virmire.
