Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is a port of each of the first three Mortal Kombat games. Regarded as one of the best fighting series of all time, this is the first time the games have been packaged like this. Fight one on one against a series of kombatants until you are told to finish your opponent in a gruesome manner, this game also boasts online play and you can fight against other Xbox 360 users from around the world. Because this is an Arcade port, note that some of the features from the console versions, such as Rain in UMK3, do NOT appear, and the difficulty is ramped up so some gamers might find the bosses difficult, especially in MKII. Do NOT expect an easy ride.

Mortal Kombat:
The original game hasn't held up well so I doubt you'll be playing it as much as the other two but you will still need to complete it for an achievement. I'd suggest playing through this one first to get it out of the way:

  • Arcade Kompetitor

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3:
You can get half of the achievements in this game just from the -alities and you'll also have to complete it and beat Shao Khan for:

  • Arcade Konqueror

Mortal Kombat II:
The hardest out of the three games, Shang Tsung will make you want to your snap your controller in half. Save this for last:

  • Arcade Kombatant

Mop Up:
The remaining achievements can be earned in any game. You must perform every kind of -ality, perform a double flawless, and play 200 matches across all modes. Note that MKI has only Fatalities, MKII has Fatalities, Babalities, and Friendships, and MKIII has all -alities.

  • The Chosen One
  • Finish Him!
  • Goo Goo Ga Ga
  • Beware of the Beast
  • Can't We All Just Get Along?
  • Elder God
  • Flawless X2

Xbox Live:
You must go online to get a flawless victory against your opponent. Getting this will also net you the win one match achievement.

  • Perfect Strangers
  • Konnected Kill

Despite the fact that the Arcade achievements may glitch on you and that MKII is a bitch, this is a fun game. Not too hard to get all 200 and a MUST for all fans of the series.

Finish Mortal Kombat (31)

Select Mortal Kombat from the main menu and fight your way up the ladder until you've defeated all kombatants. Shang Tsung is the final boss.

One of the easiest ways to win is to keep jumping back and kicking in the air. Even against the wall, continue to jump back and kick. The computer will walk into your foot every time.

Goro: He's a big, four-armed pain in the ass but is fairly simple if you pick Sub-Zero and keep freezing Goro in place ( ) just as he gets up from a knock down. Uppercut while frozen for maximum damage.

Shang Tsung: You'll want to duck under his 5 fireballs as they take off half your health. Go Liu Kang and when Shang is more than half screen away from you, do his flying kick then jump back and try to repeat. Timing is important and watch who he morphs into. They will use their special moves to the fullest so learn to avoid and try to only attack when Shang is on screen!

Finish Mortal Kombat II (63)

Select Mortal Kombat II from the main menu and fight your way up the ladder until you've defeated all kombatants. Shao Khan is the final boss.

Mortal Kombat II is a BITCH. Let's get that out of the way first of all.
The other two games are hard, this will have you crying in a corner. It not only knows your moves but it knows your next THREE moves before you've even thought of them.

Most of the characters will quite happily walk into your sweep in the early matches if you shuffle around for a second while they're down, then sweeping them again while they attempt to get up.

I found that most of the cast were quite happy to walk into Baraka's Blade Shredder too when walking backwards. Baraka is also a great character to use as you can jump back against the wall and punch them in the face and then follow this up with his Blade Swipe move.

Shang Tsung: I found the best way to kill Shang Tsung was to jump around the screen and kick him while he's vulnerable. Jump kick him while he's jumping towards you or sending a fireball your way. Just keep moving constantly over him. Confuse him.

Kintaro: Kitana's Air Wave is great use here if you jump in to Kintaro and input the move as he's blocking, you'll land and lift him straight away. As he's floating, jump towards, land, then uppercut. You'll catch him on the way down. You must have good timing for this but practice makes perfect and it's a surefire way to win.

Shao Khan: I got a double flawless on Shao Khan by doing Baraka's Blade Shredder constantly. He just walked into it every time.

Finish Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on any difficulty (27)

Select Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 from the main menu and fight your way up the ladder until you've defeated all kombatants. Shao Khan is the final boss.

The Sub-Zero method works again here. Just freeze your opponent in place () then uppercut repeatedly. This does NOT work on Jade however as she can become invincible through projectiles.

Most of the cast can also be defeated easily with Sektor. Jump into them and then in the air, input his move to do the teleport uppercut. You'll usually hit them as they won't be blocking (because you jumped) and you can kick them on the way down (time it right).

Motaro: Probably the easiest of all the bosses across the games, it doesn't matter who you go here as special moves are mostly useless and too slow. Here's how I did it: Jump back from him and he will jump towards you. As his jump is so slow and awkward, you can quickly jump forward and kick him in the face. Then repeat jumping back and jumping forward to catch him off guard. He is VERY vulnerable in the air. Don't get too close though as his grab has great reach.

Shao Khan: Sub-Zero freeze method again works a treat. Make sure you freeze Shao Khan just as gets up. He's so big that you'll be able to uppercut him from his half stance.

Finish all three games (31)

This will pop the same time as whichever above achievement you get last.

Easiest to Hardest:
Mortal Kombat
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Mortal Kombat II

Perform your first Fatality (12)

A fatality is the final move done after you defeat your opponent and you hear the words "Finish Him!" on screen. You must press a series of specific buttons and your character will kill the other in a gruesome way.

This can be done in ANY game on any mode and it will probably be the first achievement you get.
Hit and go to 'Moves List' to see a full list of how to perform each fatality and where you must be standing.

Example (MKI):
Pick Sub-Zero and beat your opponent in both rounds. When you hear Finish Him, stand next to your opponent and press quickly. The screen will fade and Sub will perform the fatality.

Perform your first Babality (9)

This can done in Mortal Kombat II or UMK3. In MKII, you must win a round without pressing punch. In UMK3, you must win the round by not blocking.

Example (MKII):
Pick Sub-Zero and beat your opponent in both rounds WITHOUT pressing punch. When you hear Finish Him, go anywhere on screen and press quickly.

Perform your first Animality (18)

This can ONLY be done in UMK3. You must win the round by beating your opponent in the 3rd round and giving him mercy. They will come back to life with a tiny bit of health left. Defeat them again and press a series of specific buttons to turn into an animal and kill your opponent.

Pick Sub-Zero and beat your opponent in the first round, lose in the second, then win in the third. When 'Finish Him!" appears, quickly jump back and hold the RUN button and then press four times for a Mercy. Defeat your opponent again then, on 'Finish Him', touch your opponent and while holding block, press quickly.

Perform your first Friendship (4)

This can done in Mortal Kombat II or UMK3. In MKII, you must win a round without pressing punch. In UMK3, you must win the round by not blocking.

Example (MKII):
Pick Sub-Zero and beat your opponent in both rounds WITHOUT pressing punch. When you hear Finish Him, go anywhere on screen and press quickly.

Win a flawless victory in a ranked kombat (68)

This can be done in ANY game as long as it's in Ranked mode.

I got it legitimately on UKM3 by using Sektor and jumping in quickly with a lengthy kombo and then surprising them with a teleport uppercut. Sub-Zero's freeze is also useful across all games.

This is boostable as you can decline anyone easily, therefore choosing your challenger. If you are having trouble boosting and can't win it, try PMing the Xbox user you're against on the character select screen and asking them if they'll let you win a round with a flawless.

You only need to win one ROUND, not a match.

Win your 1st online 1v1 (15)

You need to win both rounds for this. Will probably happen at the same time as Perfect Strangers.

Boostable across all games in any online mode. Find a boosting partner and invite them into an online match and then beat them.

Win 200 matches (49)

Win 200 Mortal Kombat matches (not rounds) in ANY of the three games either offline OR online. All wins are stacked so you could get the following and it would still pop:

40 Mortal Kombat Arcade Mode wins
30 Mortal Kombat Ranked Online wins
30 Mortal Kombat II Arcade Mode wins
40 Mortal Kombat II Friendly Kombat Online wins
30 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Quick Match Online wins
30 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Arcade Mode wins

Can be done with a 2nd controller and inputting Kombat Kode 044-440 (exactly the same as Mortal Kombat 2011 kode) before the fight. Player 1 presses + 4 times, Player 2 presses + 4 times)

There is no record of your wins so you need to keep track manually.

Win your first double flawless victory against CPU (13)

You must win BOTH rounds of Arcade mode against the computer WITHOUT taking a single hit, which is actually easier than it sounds.

First way to do this is to play UMK3 and select Sub-Zero. Use the good ol' freeze trick () to hold your opponent in place and then uppercut them until dead.

Alternatively, play MKI and keep jumping back against the wall continuously. It is more than likely that the computer will just keep walking into your foot every time, especially in the first match.
