Power Gig: Rise of the Six String

Power Gig: Rise of the Six String Achievements

Power Chord Master

Hit every power chord in any song.

Note: This requires the official Power Gig guitar peripheral.
You have to hit 100% of the notes in any song with Power Chords turned on. Since difficulty doesn't affect this achievement, play on Recruit. The easiest songs for this are "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" by The Offspring, "Again" by Flyleaf, and "Plush" by Stone Temple Pilots, so play one of those.

If you're having trouble with this achievement, try re-calibrating your game. Even if the calibration is only a few milliseconds off, it can really mess you up, especially when using the already somewhat temperamental official guitar peripheral.

This is a hard achievement if you don't have previous experience with a real guitar. If you can't get it right away, practice just hitting chords in general, then, once you're comfortable with that, switching between chords. If you devote a few hours to this general practice, then you should be able to get this achievement with significantly less frustration.

This is what a 100g achievement should be, hard yet obtainable. I got it on breaking Benjamins tune. Do this on recruit and there is only like 8 power chords the whole song. More than enough time to properly finger them in between.

I also found Breath to be the simplest of the five or six songs I tried in the easy guitar tier to get this on. Not only are there few power chords total, there's just like 3 or 4 different ones, they're similar, and there's not much switching.

Just watch for the touchy way the strumming works!

The Flyleaf song was very easy for me, and I'm not a guitarist in real life. After failing twice, I viewed it a third time and wrote down which chords were required. On my 4th time, I aced it.

To be honest, 100G is too high. I've never played guitar in my life, and it took me all of 20 mins to get it (and the 3rd time I wasn't even playing - just taking down notes). I feel it's worth about 25G or thereabouts.

For 100G, I would've expected to have played a song all the way through perfectly on the equivalent Expert difficulty.
