|Kill 53,596 infected.|
Infected can be any of the Hunter forms and also the infected civilians. If you are trying to boost the achievement, it is better to wait until the city has been approximately 60-80% infected as they will be everywhere. Simply run around killing everything you see as quickly as possible. It will also help if you use infected vision, which will make all infected enemies grow red.
The quickest way to do this is replay the event "Rolling Thunder" (located in the SW corner of the map) which has you using the Thermobolic Tank to kill as many infected as possible. You can easily get 750+ in only a few minutes each time you play this event.

How wonderful proofreading is... unless you don't use it.
The event "Rolling Thunder" is in the South EAST corner, not the SW.

"...You can easily get 750+ in only a few minutes each time you play this event."
This needs to be deleted, it's gonna get people to think they can kill 750+ infected easily, when that is not true. The numbers in the event represent score, NOT the infected you killed.

Eh, disregard my last comment, you can rack up a load of kills. I admit when I'm wrong. although the "easily" part is a little exaggerated.

"Rolling thunder" is the way to go, just start the event and make the tank head north, keep the tank turret pointed backwards and blast away, i got this one moments ago.

ClockworkEarth apparently has not played dead rising 2. They also did 53,596 for that one... but i guess they also got tired of other games trying to one up them on their creation, because they also had an achievement for 75,000. boy was THAT a fun one to get.

If you get a good method for Rolling Thunder, you can probably average 800-900 kills per event, which is two minutes. I didn't exactly add them up, but I seemed to get at least 1000 kills per try (checked from statistics). It's redundant, but a hell of a lot faster than Left 4 Dead's Zombie Genocidest...
Oh, and if there's a hive near the event, stay the hell away from it. The Thermobaric Cannon is strong enough to annihilate that thing, and doing that stops the infected civilians from respawning, which makes both this achievement and getting Platinum on the event a lot harder.

Not sure how many you guys are getting with rolling thunder because a bunch of the single kills you get in it add several points, ditorting the numbers. but i have a method that was getting me at least 500 every two minutes killing commons. there is a helicopter event is the sw portion of the island use its event (this gives you unlimited ammo), and ignore all the targets on your radarand fly north to the very first infected zone and go one street over from the one beside the ocean to where there are buildings on both sides. use your strafing missles(2nd option) and fly down the street with the trigger held down, at near full speed untill you hit a spot where the road merges, turn around and do it untill you get to the end of the infected zone. rinse and repeat. it should take you 30 sec o

f flying to get there, and i had at and easy 500 at least each two minutes. very simple and mindless, could be done in 2 hours that way. pardon my spelling, company keyboard and sticky buttons, no spellcheck.

i've beaten the game and now im just trying to get the achievements, i've read what you guys say on how to do this with the events, i have yet to do that, right now, im doing bout 700 kills in 5 min. just driving back and forths with a tank in front of the hive going edge to edge of the red zone, its easy to do alot of kills while killing other tanks and helicopters, will take a while and quite a bit of tanks which are easy to get in front of the hive, just dont destroy the hives.

It's not about developers trying to one-up eachother. It's a not to "Dawn of the Dead" wherein the population of the town was 53,594. It's just a zombie thing... Regardless, pain in the ass.

One thing I noticed recently while playing New Game+ on Easy was that my kills seemed to be cumulative from my first game on to the next. So all the kills you get from playing the first time around will add to your New Game+. Dunno how it affects New Games on different difficulties though.

Here's a tip if you decide to use an event to grind for this achievement. During the last second of the event press start, go to quit, and restart the event. This helps speed up the process since it lets you skip the info screens you would normally receive at the beginning and end of the event and you do still keep all the kills you had during the event even though you are restarting.

At least it isn't like Gears of War with 100,000 or so kills when the enemy doesn't die real easy!
Rolling Thunder, drive forward a little turn yourself around the drive backwards whilst holding down the right trigger (powerful cannon). The disadvantages here are you run into vehicles a lot and Hunters sometimes block your way but you'll stock up 850+ kills easy as!
I managed to get over 1000.

hey, i just found out something about this. you know how your supposed to get more points than kills? well, check the statistics screen before you start the event, record the number of infected civillian kills, & check again after you play the event once. you should notice that the count is some 1200(rounded down) above what you had last time. assuming you kept that score consistent, it couldn't possibly take you more than 50 tries to get the achievement.
I shit you not.

Average kills of 1025 in the stats menu every two minutes while doing Rolling Thunder (NOT the mission score, that was averaged at 1200). The seemingly indestructible tank, with infinite ammo can be driven around in circles while blasting the respawning infected. This method attracted no military attention, thus no tanks got in the way, or helicopters attacking. The tank does get thrown around a bit by the hunters, but takes next to no damage. Plus if you do get military attention, it goes away the instant you retry.
Much quicker then using the shield and running through infected, which only hits what you run into (no splash damage) and instantly gains military attention once they spot you, then one blast from a tank or chopper and your run is ruined, and your health is down. Or going r

Or going rampaging in a normal tank, which runs out of ammo, is easily damaged, and can easily gain attention, slowing down your progress.
Haven't tried the choppers for this achievement, so can't really comment on them. I can't see the respawning the infected as quickly as Rolling Thunder does, and navigating the buildings at low altitude can also be difficult while pursuing ground targets. Most choppers can't take a large amount of damage.
The kills for this achievement count everything on the "INFECTED" stats page besides water towers and hives, which aren't technically 'kills'.

So far I've gotten all kill based events to gold (and probably platinum level), I've finished the game twice (and still to do a third) and I've just randomly decided to slice open infected because I was bored for a while, I'm still only around 15K kills, damn you RADICAL!!!
