Quake 4 Achievements

Number One

20
Achieved the number one rank on the All Gametypes leaderboard.
Rank in at Number One on the overall leaderboard. Sadly, once again, the only way to get into the leaderboard is to glitch or boost. Easiest way? Glitch like I described in General Multiplayer. It should take about 7 to 8 glitch games to be number one, depending on how high the number one player currently is.

Leaderboard achievements make for such lousy achievements, especially when they want you to be in the number one spot just for a measly 20 gamerscore! Boo! Thanks for nothing, id!

You gotta remember this was a launch title, I mean in some ways this really is what you can call a real "achievement" but as most developers learnt having an achievement for top place on leaderboards will always encourage boosting, and due to just how old this game is now, the top score will exponentially always be getting higher and harder to reach.

Besides the fact that this achievement is hard as hell to get anyway because of how long its been out, but you cant even get on an online game anymore to even attempt this. What a waste.

hahaha i like how it says 7-8 glitch games to get there. this must be hella-dated. i boost this game quite a bit (300 hours so far or so) and haven't even started the leaderboards, and don't plan on it. the glitch awards 6030 points (with 4 people playing) to one person in the game. the #1 spot is currently just over 1.08 MILLION POINTS. that's about 175 games or so if you are scoring every time. if you are taking turns with the other 3 people, well, that's about 700 games, and at about 15-20 minutes per match at BEST, you are looking at a good 200 hours. and then you still have to play 5000 matches for that achievement which would take even longer, probably about 350 hours or so. 3 cheevs i will NEVER have!

I'd like to find the "genius" dev who thought this would be a great idea for an achievement and just curb stomp his face into Ragu. This one might get the vote for most btoken achievement of all time...and 5000 multiplayer games? 5000? Seriously? Why do these people think their game is that good that people will want to get to that point? To get all achievements should be a challenge but it should never require 20000 hours of gameplay and result based on too many variables.

Fail id...major epic fail.

@ 2, 4, 5, & 9

Stop the bellying aching and go get the achievement if you want it so bad. Nothing says lazy more than complaining about 1 achievement. Yes it takes awhile and help from others but hey, there is 1000 other games you can play.
