Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption Achievements

The Gunslinger

Score a headshot on any enemy using Expert targeting mode.

This isn't as difficult as it sounds. There are three difficulty settings, one of them being Expert. Using the Expert difficult you will need to manually aim at all your targets without aid from the auto aim system. Just take your time on this difficulty and carefully aim for the head.

It may take a while to line up your shots and get used to playing like this but you should score a headshot in time.

Whats the difference between expert and casual targeting mode?

expert mode doesn't let you lock on, while casual locks on to the target. but its an easy achievment. just go into dead eye.

Not sure what makes it expert targeting apart from... the targeting I've been using. I've shot heads in dead eye, with every weapon, everything, but it won't unlock.

took me one shot. in a battle change from normal (or casual) to expert aim [PAUSE, OPTIONS, CONFIG] then aim at a guys head (shouldn't be too hard). DONT USE DEAD EYE.(i dont know if you can though) Once you unlock just go back to normal.

you need to go to options and then config to change targeting mode to expert.
I got the achievement by tying up an enemy and then shoot him in the head, just went in to town and tied up a gang-member and then shot him

So I am assuming that this can be done in single player.

Yes, it can be done in single player. I did it in Armadillo on someone dragging a lady behind their horse. It's the easiest achievement ever. Just pause the game, go into options, then game options, and toggle the targeting mode to Expert. Unpause, go into Dead Eye, aim at someone's head and fire...achievement unlocked. Then you can immediately go back to Normal targeting.

Make sure you change the single player targeting to expert, cuz I believe theres 2 options. You're using the right option if you can not lock on to enemies

Did this on my first shot. No tricks, nothing fancy. Maybe I just got lucky. Who knows?

You can definitely do this with Red Eye, I just did. Open up options, make sure your targeting mode is set to expert (not casual or normal), then just aim at someone's head and blammo. The description said "enemy", which I took to mean a red dot. But it doesn't have to be. I rode after a horse thief and took him out with my rifle via Dead Eye to get it.

Very easy just put it on expert and go to thieves landing to shoot someone in the head, it will bring no wanted level and unlock achievement

Couldn't be easier. Just approach a gang hideout. Before they notice you, go to options, switch to expert targeting mode in the options menu, dead eye a head shot on a gang member.

When they're on to you, switch back if you need/want to.

I got this totally by fluke by duelling with someone. Duelling is no more difficult in expert mode (as far as I can tell) so if you are in expert mode when someone challenges you, it should pop no problem... unless you're a bit rubbish at duelling...!

This one is pretty easy, I did it when doing a gang hideout in West Elizabeth. Ran upto a enemy hiding behind boxes, switched the options for expert targetting mode and went into dead eye.

This isn't difficult at all. Turn on expert (which should be on anyway, Jesus) and aim for the head. It baffles me that people need to use dead eye or turn on casual, lock on, and then switch to hardcore. They made this achievement worth so little because it is easy as hell. What is wrong with the world?

Pretty easy, but it seems that it definitely has to be an enemy. I tried shooting random people at MacFarlane's ranch in the head and it didn't work.

done in single player. Easiest thing in the world. Make sure you're in expert mode in the options menu. Achievement popped up right away when i shot an enemy in the head.

Real easy.

I recommend doing this in Undead Nightmare, just to be sure you killed him in the head. Change in options/config/targeting mode to expert, use Dead Eye and voalĂ
