On the Trail of de Vaca
|Uncover every location on the map in Single Player.|
There are 94 locations in total through the whole of the map, visiting each location may take a while depending on what activities you are taking part in. Just progress through the game at your own progress and you should find most locations with little to no effort. You can use the following map to find all the locations you may be missing:

You can buy a map at the General store in each area. You must buy them in the appropriate State though. You can also visit every location on the map, but for a quick achievement, I recommend buying the maps.
(make note that they will be in your inventory and you have to use them)

Guys, I've just unlocked this achievement and I found the best way of doing it is using the map that came with the game in the box. You'll sometimes overlook areas but keep looking because they're all there (except for Twin Rocks it would seem).

It says for me: Areas discovered- 93/94
New Austin areas discovered- 43/45
Nuevo Paraiso areas discovered-33/32 ?
West Elizabeth areas discovered- 17/17
is this a glitch or is it just me?

My stats said I needed to get 4 more in Nuevo Paraiso. I checked the Social Club 100% checklist, and it said I needed 11 more. I ended up getting the map out of the case and going over each area. 3 of the 4 I missed were up near Tall Trees, not in Nuevo Paraiso.
Even if your game is glitching out, and the 100% checklist doesn’t help, don’t give up. Get the map out of the case and compare it to the map in-game. You’ll find the ones you need!

This looks like the most challenging for 100% but the maps will help.

after i had boughten all of the maps, i still had one place left to find in new austin. i did some research and found out that there's a place that the maps don't uncover. Old Bacchus Place. The name is on the Mexico side but it's actually Directly South of Thieves Landing, just across Butter Bridge, and to the east

rattlensake hollow was the last one for me because it's just a hill. if the map in the game case doesn't help you find it, must be glitched and i guess you'll have to start over

Nuevo Parasio: 31/32? Try Planta Grande. It's in Mexico inbetween Tesoro Azul and Sidewinder Gulch, the little loop and black lines.

Hit an elision is correct. All locations can be found from maps. However after going to every general store I had all locations except one in Nuevo Paraiso. This is because not all the maps are in the general stores. There is a map which held my last location, but it is being sold in Escalera Gunsmith Store, NOT the general store.

There is indeed a map part that you can buy in escalera gun store.
But how comes I can't buy it? Nor the map piece in chuparosa general store? It's says not available for some reason

Whhy can't i discover repentance rock and del lobo rock? They're the only two i need(except it says i need 3 more on social club).
Saturday, May 25, 2013 @ 05:57:50 PM
nevermind! just got them :D. You can tell when you discovered a location when you see its name on the map (e.g. i didn't see repentance rock on the map before i disocvered it, but afterwards, I opened up my map and saw "Repentance Rock" when I zoomed in. It popped for me when I went up to find Del Lobo Rock.
Hope this helps!

Just use the map that comes with the game like previously said. I tried using the map in the description up here but it was off. I just compared the locations on the paper map to the one in the game and just went to the areas that didn't have a name yet. It was really easy.

#24 That was the last one I needed. After setting a waypoint, I fast-travelled there and got the achievement during the loading screen.
