Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution Achievements

Such Joy Ambition Finds

Win a Domination victory on Deity difficulty.

Difficulty --- Deity
Scenario ---- Beta Centauri
Civilization ---- American or any other civilization

Once the game has started:

Change your government to Monarchy to start. Defend with your 1st Modern Infantry. Barbarians will most likely attack you, which in time is good for you as it’ll upgrade your unit making them better defenders.
Go into the city screen and immediately press which will switch your city from producing science, (which you don’t need because you have all technologies), and you start producing gold. Next go customize your workers, putting some on food, some on tech, and some on gold. Then change what you are building and build a temple. Once you’ve built the Temple, build the Cathedral.

At this point you should get your first Great Person or be close to getting them. You should settle any Great Person, unless it’s a Great Builder. In which case you should use the Great person to complete a wonder for you. Magna Carta should be the first wonder you build.

Next you should build a Courthouse, then a Market, then a Bank.

Once you have 100 gold and you earn your settler, use that settler to build a new city. In this city you should go in the same order building a Temple, Cathedral, Courthouse, Market, then a Bank. You should also immediately change from science to gold. Also remember, if you can’t settle a Great Person in your capital, move the Great Person to your second city and settle them there.

At this point you should build 2 more modern infantry for each city, and combine them to make an army, you should build 1 Artillery unit that will help defend the city. Build a road between each city. Once other civilizations start bothering you, defend with the modern infantry but use your Artillery to fight the enemies Artillery.

Once you have those defensive units in place, you can start building wonders and buildings as you desire. What you really need to do, is build the Manhattan Project so that no other Civilization has nukes but you. Also, make sure before you really start to produce units that all buildings are built in both cities, don’t be afraid to use your gold to help build buildings either.

Once you’ve got all buildings built in both cities, start mass-producing Flying Fortress or, if you’re not playing the Americans, Bombers. Once you’ve got three combine those into wings. Once you’ve got 8 wings of bombers, use one city to build Modern Infantry, and once you’ve got 5 armies of those, stop producing bombers and modern infantry and instead build Tanks in one city and artillery in another. 3 armies of each of those and you are ready to rock and roll!!!!

Keep your artillery with your Modern Infantry, and keep your army nearby also. Take your bombers, you should have at least 10 wings, and just attack the nearest city. You may lose a few wings, that’s ok though, have your 2 cities go back to producing bombers. Your bombers should whittle away and finally destroy all opposition in the enemy city. Once the next round starts, use your bombers again, if your bombers are no longer able to attack then it’s time to use your tanks to take over the city.

Once you’ve taken over a city, the first thing you want to do is build a temple, buy it, then start building a Cathedral. Then next round you’ll buy the Cathedral and start building a Courthouse. Next round buy the Courthouse and what you build after that is up to you, though Markets and Banks are a good way to go. By doing this you are increasing your Culture and chances are you’ll start converting cities over with your culture. Also, don’t forget to build roads connecting every city that you’ve taken over.

Anyways, dock all Bomber Wings in your new city, including new ones your 1st 2 cites have built while fighting, along with all your tanks, Modern Infantry, and Artillery. Leave at least 1 army of Infantry in your new city before you start to attack a different city, though I always found it to be a good idea to leave 2.

Pretty much what you’ll be doing is rinsing and repeating. Have your bombers do almost if not all the city battle and then let your ground troupes take the city over. At any point you can stop for a few rounds to replenish your army and then start attacking again.

I’ve found that after taking over an enemy Palace they will normally want to make peace with you, though sometimes there is an exception. Also, if you know where an Enemy Capital City is, feel free to go straight for the capital.

Plus you shouldn’t have to use your nuke at all. But there you have it, it may take some time, but when I played this, I felt like I was playing on Chieftain difficulty, I completely dominated the whole game, I could have won either economic or the culture victory, and that does get annoying because they tell you at the beginning of EVERY turn that all you have to do is build .

I will say that this may not be the quickest, but I have yet to lose a Deity game using the aforementioned strategy. It's all about culture and gold, and everything else follows.

Alternate Method: (Thanks to Spanish Assault)

Follow the directions from the guide but instead of mass producing Flying Cities and attacking other civilizations just alternate between building Modern Infantry, Sherman Tanks and Artillery and defend your cities. I settled a third city as well and built up my culture using the same method for the first two cities. Make sure you have each unit defend the city by pressing . Also be sure to build a Wall to add to your cities defense. I was able to fight off all attackers with little issues. Keep using gold to speed up the build of each unit. Don't forget to save often. After around 2450 AD the game will tell you that 5 turns are remaining. Since your culture and gold is built up, you'll win and it will count as a Domination victory.

Jesus Christ I finally did this. Spent a whole day on this single achievement. The trick is to make your air-force and your ground-force stick together. Do not go to attack with only bombers or with only tankers/artillery. Start attacking with bombers. Then, when you see that the city started defending with fighter planes, switch to tankers/artillery and finish them off.

The guide helped me a lot on this one. Once I got close to victory, I saved my game and went for cultural and economic victories, since at this point your enemies are super weak.

So... I was following the guide, getting beat up by all the fighter planes, couldn't get far, so I decided to sit back and build an obscenely large offensive force...while doing so the achievement pops, I never took even one capital !

The best strategy is all in the science...Use the Aztecs (because they heal automatically later)and try to start off in a place where you have mountains and hills nearby...Keep producing the warriors at first and send them in various directions to find little villages (they can reveal technologies and they give gold)and keep your work to balanced with science production until you have three or four warriors and then but it completely to science...Study writing and masonry first (the goal is to eventually get mathematics and therefor catapults)If you can do it fast enough you should be way ahead of the rest of the nations and be able to take over a quick capital or two before they get units good enough to defend. Save often so if a battle doesnt go your way you know not to do it...Immediate

ly after math go to metallurgy for cannons...Keeping up this method should have you well off but remember to always go for technology, money will come later. If you do it right any method of winning should be a breeze, I got it where I could win by any method by year 1900...Hope this helps!

Just got this on the Beta Centauri scenario as the Americans... switch govt. to Communism right away to boost production, find a good area and build 2 cities right away, then immediately switch all cities' workers to production and all gold/ no science... build all of the buildings and wonders ASAP, this will assure you fast production, growth, and high culture (many civ cities will be converted). Build your defenses (modern infantry and artillery) up like crazy in all cities (seriously, build a ridiculous amount of armies- I had 30-40 armies per city early on) and turn EVERYTHING into the stronger version (armies, wings, fleets)... fleets of battleships are very useful early on for defending your skies and waters, and for moving troops around to shore up defenses in newer cities... once

once you are well established (4-5 large cities) just go crazy building the Flying Fortress, group them into wings and relentlessly pound nearby enemy cities until they are sufficiently weakened for you to roll in, take over, and start the whole process again! If you have been patient and sufficiently built your forces then the only thing you will really have to worry about is another civ scoring an economic victory, if this is happening then immediately bomb their cities, send in armies and spies, and feel free to use your nuke on them! You can also pay off any allies to declare war on anyone who might be harassing you- make use of this option frequently during the entire course of your game. This isn't really that difficult, just take your time (it took me about 4 hours), be patient, and

(this part is worth saying again)- take your time (it took me about 4 hours), be patient, and this achievement will be yours!

You can also easily get economic and cultural victories with this strategy. Economic will likely come first, make a save file before building the World Bank and reload after you win, save again before building the U.N., reload after the win and complete your domination! That's 3 deity achievements from one playthrough- not too shabby eh? Anyway I hope this helps someone out there get this achievement!

I lost after 4 hours of play. I had defeated 2 out of the 4 enemies, then one of then won an econmic victory. Which sucked. How do you guys avoid such a thing ?

Thx 4 the tips, when the message showed that all I had to do was build the bank I saved. Built the bank won. Reloaded then built the UN. Then reloaded again and I'm on the last major city for domination.

Follow the tips and be sure to save before taking last capital so you grab the cultural and economic victories also.

It's really important to take over a capital city or two ASAP. That really makes everything much much easier because it eliminates an enemy before they can become strong.

I got lucky and got this on my first Deity playthrough. Taking over an enemy capital early in the game is key. If you fail, just start over and save yourself the headache.

Battleship fleets are your friend. The naval support bonus is huge for both attacking and defending.

I really don't understand this guide, it doesn't explain what technologies to build or in what order because it just says ill have them all but.. how? oh and START with first infantryman, is this guy mad? someone please clarify, plus buildings cant be built as fast as he makes out, how do i overcome that?

Reading carefully you will see the need to start in the Beta Centauri scenario. That gives you all technology. Also, use your gold to build faster.

Managed to capture a capital city and hold it throughout the whole game, but then the CPU somehow won a domination victory without even capturing a single city...

So annoyed.
