Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution

Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution Achievements

Curse of the Drinking Class

Develop a city to produce 200 resources per turn.
  • Choose the Americans as your Civilization.
  • Early on in the game, take your SETTLERS to a large mountainous area (4+ large peaks!) and build your CITY.
  • Set the WORKERS at this CITY to PRODUCTION.
  • Keep building everything! BUILDINGS and WONDERS at the same location.
  • Switch your government to Communism.
  • As you get to 1980, or so, and your other CITIES have run out of things to build, start building SETTLERS at these CITIES and move them (via ROADS) to your mountain retreat.
  • By 2000 you should have well over 200 PRODUCTION.

Just got this few minutes ago. A tip for those which are not too familiar with Civilization games: For production to go high, the city must have a high population! Therefore, do NOT build settlers in the city you're trying to reach 200 production. Settlers take population points and will lower your production. Also, I suggest putting your target city's worker management to "food" (i.e. city population growth), until you know that re-setting your workers to "production" will result in the 200+ production needed for this achievement to pop.

I have a better way for this. You first pick the scenario Labyrinth. I would recommend either USA for the triple factory production or Genghis Khan for his mountain production bonus and communism later in the game. When you spawn you can mover to a corner that is surrounded by mountains and has a port for water transport. You first want to build up city population followed by a courthouse and possibly wonders. Just play the game on chieftain for simplicity. Then once you quickly research engineering and railroad for their production bonuses if you are the first to discover them. Then once you build an iron mine, factory, and have communism you should have no problem reaching over 200 production. As an added bonus look for uranium on mountains for more production. Good Luck

Oh this is the annoying achievement I need. I am going 2 try that last guys suggestion not that I am a total achievement freak but its like this game appears like it should be an easy 1000 of 1000.

Wow, it looked like i'd get this easily, and managed at most to get 207 production! (Yes, the hammer things :) ). surrounded mostly by mountains and trees, with everything researched too, and max people! I also had another city which had 197, which was annoying! :P I did it on Chieftein with Americans, and on the Beta centauri scenario (unsure if this helped or hindered though!)

Got my city up to 202 and don't have an achievement. Do I need to do something or what? Just a tip on what I did. Play Armegedon and it will never end until you defeat everyone, I have 1 city left to take an I have them surrounded. Then I looked at all my cities to see which ones had a shot then changed my production to food and kept an eye out. Once I had enough population I changed it back to production but now I'm lost with it at 202.

The city I was trying to do this with has stopped gaining population at 31 people. The food line fills, but it always resets to 31, keeping me just 17 away from 200 production. Is this normal?

Same, but I was only at like 167 or something. I think you have to find a place that literally has at least 4 mountains surrounding it, 2 or 3 hills, and lots of trees. Since the maps seem to spawn fairly randomly, you just have to search around and get lucky.
