Silent Hill: Downpour

Silent Hill: Downpour Achievements

Piñata Party

Killed or incapacitated 10 Weeping Bats.

When do they appear: Once you get to Devil's Pit, you will start facing these monsters.

This enemy is very tall and can crawl around on the ceilings. They have long reach and can surprise you by dropping down. Sometimes you will be faced with multiple. These enemies are one of the most rare in the game, so fight then every chance you get if you are going for this achievement. This is the hardest enemy based achievement in the game.

Glitchy: It seems to only count if you kill or incapacitate these enemies while they are on the ground (not shooting them while they are on the ceiling). Some also say they randomly spawn on the overpass after St. Maria's. Some have seen a bunch of them spawn, while others have seen 0. There are 2 side quests that you can find them in, Dead Man's Hand and in the Monroe Cemetery when you finish the Art Collector quest. You can avoid all of these locations if you just take care of the ones you see.

This one was bother me too for a while. I got every achievement but this one and decided to start a new game on Easy and turned the Gamma this time to max in the game settings so I could see where im going in the dark and get through faster, anyways... So as I am playing through and I am remembering to kill all the weeping bats and execute them when they are down on the ground and not on the ceilings. As I am doing this I don't kill any other monster but them so I can keep track in the statistics screen. I came across 1 bat in the library that no matter how you kill it wont count towards a kill so just forget about that first bat in the library. To finish this mission faster just open the safe as soon as you see it by ether remembering the combo from a last playthrough or searching google.

I finally got to the bridge where people report the bats re-spawning. Only the first time I saw it wasnt in a fighting mood. Have any of you encountered such a bat? It will not come down to fight and if it does it s for a second, therefore it wont count as a kill if you kill it from the ceiling. So I left this one alone, did the telltale heart quest around the corner. in the basement here there is only 1 bat that will count as a kill, the other one is glitched and wont fight on the ground. (At least this was the case for me) After this quest was complete I went back to the bridge and the bat wanted to fight, so I incapacitated it, and went back to complete another easy quest, which is spreading the ashes on the bench. After I was done I went back to the bat and it was alive and well, so I

I didn't need to do any kind of tricks to get Weeping Bats to spawn. If you play through all the side-quests up until the Orphanage and killed every Bat you've come across, this should pop for you once you re-enter the courtyard and kill the Bat that jumps on you immediately.

I had one of them respawning near the apartement at the small playground. I made it respawning by enter and leaving the art gallery and returning.

I imagine this one will be easy when around the train station, I failed to do it during my first play through because I didn't begin checking out achievements until half way done with the game.

These are a swine on hard, but so rare. I am in the prison now and must have only found 8-9 of them by now. Will do it on another run through soon.

Definately glitched

I killed 14 as follows, all on the ground with axe, in the following order;

4 in caves on the way to train
1 behind art gallery
2 in Centennial building car park
1 in Centennial building library
1 under bridge by Napier's van
1 in forest on the way to cottage (after activating theatre)
1 in orphanage yard
2 in sewers during Dead Man's Hand Side Quest
1 in crypt at the end of Art Collector Side Quest

Achievement didn't pop until second Dead Man's Hand kill, so 3 other kills didn't count for some reason.
