South Park: The Stick of Truth Achievements

Re-Buttal

15
Interrupt 5 channel attacks with a fart.

*Missable*

Enemies won't start channeling until after you finish your first visit to the school. The Boss Hall Monitor will channel at times, as will The Bard. Most notably, the Gnomes channel often. Each time an enemy channels, make sure you have enough Mana (you can use the basic fart spell for 40 Mana to count toward the achievement), then unleash a fart spell on the channeling enemy. It will interrupt their attack, cancelling it essentially, and will gross them out. This needs to be done 5 times cumulatively to unlock the achievement. I recommend making a save and then farming this on the Underpants Gnomes. Fill your Mana before battle (you'll battle 3-4 at once). When they channel, often more than one will channel on the same turn. If you've already maxed your Mana before battle, you can drink a Speed Potion, use Dragon Breath on one of the channeling gnomes, then use it again on one of the others. This will give you two in one turn.

If you don't have this achievement by the time you beat the game, another place to farm this is on Craig in Cylde's Tower. When he makes clones of himself, they will sometimes channel, although not as often as the gnomes, so try to get as many on the gnomes as possible.

How do you do this?

You may notice some enemies, like gnomes and some bosses, turn red and shine for one move before unleashing a major attack; It will say "channeling" above them when they do this. Use the fart magic (the green cloud at the bottom of the combat selection) and cast it during this process to interrupt the spell. It's easy to get on night 2, although I'd try whenever possible. Just make sure you keep your mana full and have some extra mana potions on hand!

Anyone else think the fart magic attacks cost a bit too much mana to use?

To #3, yes. Especially considering how (relatively) useless they are. The only time I used them was to try to get this achievement. But the stun doesn't work on bosses so pretty much the only time you can get this is when you're fighting the underpants gnomes.

To #3 and #4 I've found the Squeaky Sneaker works pretty well in battle. Will deal 4000+ damage to all enemies at once. I do agree that the costs are a bit extreme though.

Having problems with this one... I did this more than the five times in my second play through and nothing! Does it have to be a certain fart? And how do you know it worked?

Video-guie of South Park: stick of the truth to get the achievement or trophy Re-Buttal. It consists in stop 5 channeling attacks of the enemies with a dragon fart. The easiest and fastest place for this is in the combat against the Gnomes, at night in the 2nd day in the story. At the beggining of the video I speak in Spanish but it's just and introduction and I don't say anything relevant.

I use dragon shout, you can get 2 on the Hall monitor boss then the rest on the gnomes.

This is impossible. You rarely see anyone "channeling," and when you do, and you use a mana attack on them, it doesn't give you the achievement. I've played through the game three times, and I've done it at least 7 times each playthrough.

The achievement should say "Interrupt 5 channel attacks with Dragon Shout."
Not "Interrupt 5 channel attacks with a fart."

I got one on the hall monitor boss, three on the gnomes and (as far as I can tell) one during the Bards quest. There's one guy in a gas mask that channels, and even though he's immune to gross it seems like it counted.

Can anyone confirm that it must be done in one play through? or does it stack between each play through?

The gnomes are a good place for getting this quest.

This can also be obtained towards the end when fighting Craig, he will summon other Craig's to fight, the will channel. I however used only the Dragon's Shout. Just make sure u have a good supply of health and revives, along with mana and PP refills.

You can do this right when you first encounter the Gnomes even on hardcore mode and if you did not do any before. Just use dragonshout when they are channeling, and there will be 5 targets. You may die when doing it but just get the achievement then restart the battle.

just in case anyone tried what I did, the farts must be fully charged (you can see the gas). I tried screwing it up to do less damage so the gnomes wouldnt die as fast, but eventually tried doing fully charged farts and got it.
