Introduction:
This is a 3rd person action adventure game similar to the title before it: Shattered Dimensions. Unlike Shattered Dimensions, you are inside one building and control only 2 different Spider Mans. The challenges which were very level oriented before, are now available to play without needing to run through the whole level. Also, you will be pleased to know there is no platinum rankings needed (if you played the previous game). You will be playing through twice, once on normal and the other on hard. There are no missable achievements to worry about, though there are golden spiders you must collect.
Step 1: Normal playthrough
Choose normal for your first playthrough. Mostly what your doing now is getting all the story related achievements, unlocking all of the challenges and beating it to unlock the Hard difficulty. All the while collecting Golden Spiders.
Note: Hard mode can only be unlocked after beating normal. It will not unlock while playing on easy.
-GOLDEN SPIDERS-
Golden Spiders can be found when the icon (along with how many you have) shows up just below the top right of the screen. It will begin to flash rapidly when you are close by them. There are usually from what I've learned in obvious spots like on ceilings, behind a box, in a room away from the main path, etc. You can also earn Golden Spiders for defeating all of the enemies in the area. Again you should see the icon if there is a Golden Spider award. But to be safe, just kill them all anyway.
Step 2: Finish Challenges
Now that you have beaten the game, go ahead and play all of the challenges. This will ensure you have a fully upgraded Spider Man for Hard mode. Though, after beating the game once, you should almost be completely upgraded. There are several of them but most take only a few minutes. They are actually very easy. A few will cause you some frustration, specifically free-fall challenges. Other than that, they will not cause you too much stress.
Step 3: Hard Playthrough and Mop Up:
Now go ahead and play through on hard mode. After doing the challenges and being maxed out, this playthrough should take you a few hours and be quite easy. You can skip most enemies in the game and because of the challenges, you will have learned quick ways to complete certain areas. You cannot actually collect any health but defeating enemies will still provide. Checkpoints are pretty frequent so you should really have no trouble rushing through for your last achievement.
Conclusion:
The game can be considered a medium difficulty achievement game. All of the achievements are very straight forward and the ability to use chapter select makes things less stressful. Only a minimum amount of collecting but a lot of challenges do require some attention. Overall you will be content with your accomplishments. Not too easy but not incredibly difficult either. There are some extremely annoying enemies in the game, and without a block button, you might be glad your experience is over.
