The games achievements will have you play arcade mode at least once, plus a bit of online multiplayer. Most of your time will be spent offline, and the majority of cumulative tasks can be done easily in a local match with a second controller.

All the achievements in this game are tied to in-game challenges. Challenges with an achievement tied to them are marked with an asterisk in the challenge menu. Take note that Singleplayer and Multiplayer modes have their own sets of challenges. Most challenges you can do in either mode, while some are specific to each mode.

Challenges that can be done in both modes aren’t combined. For example, there’s a challenge that requires you to perform 75 parries. You have to do all 75 parries in either singleplayer or multiplayer. If you did 40 parries in singleplayer, and then did 35 parries in multiplayer, the achievement would not unlock until you get all 75 in either single or multiplayer.

If you’re having trouble with any of the challenges, remember that you can do many of them in a local match with a second controller. You can also play with the dipswitches in the options and see if any of them make the achievements easier for you. Note that modifying dipswitches appears to disable tracking for some of the games challenges, but the only achievement this seems to affect is "Pocket Full Of Quarters."

Keep track of your progress by going to the challenges menu in either singleplayer or multiplayer. Remember that single and multi are tracked separately.
[x360a would like to thank bs000 for this roadmap]

The Bitter End5
Complete the challenge “The Bitter End”. (10)

The Bitter End challenge requires you to watch an entire tournament.

To enter a tournament select Multiplayer -> Tournament. From here, you can create or join any tournament for the achievement. You do NOT have to win the tournament, but make sure you stay until the end where the achievement will unlock.

The shortest type of tournament uses the “Standard” rule set with 4 tournament slots. Use those settings to get the achievement faster.

Big Finish5
Complete the first tier of the challenge “Big Finish” in any mode.

The Big Finish achievement requires you to win a round using a “Super Art.”

A Super Art is your character’s most powerful attack. Each character has three different Super Arts that you choose from after you’ve selected your character. Underneath each Super Art is the input for the move. Remember the input for the one you pick when you’re choosing your character. You can also hit start, and choose “Character Move List” in-game to check the inputs.

Super Arts requires at least 1 bar of super meter to execute. Super meter is represented by the rectangular bar at the bottom of your side of the screen. The number next to it has to be least 1/X to perform the Super Art. Earn super meter by doing any attack. When your opponents health is low and you have enough meter, enter the correct input on your controller and if it knocks out your opponent, the achievement will unlock. This achievement can be done in single player or multiplayer.

If you’re having trouble you can start a local match with a second controller and do it at your leisure

Sharing Is Caring10
Complete the challenge “Sharing Is Caring”. (2)

The Sharing is Caring challenge requires you to upload a replay to the match server.

From the main menu, select Multiplayer -> Replays. Choose saved or unsaved replays. If you don’t see anything here then you need to play a match first. Note that unsaved replays are deleted when you exit the game.

Next, select a replay and choose “Upload to match server.” Hit to upload and the achievement will unlock.

Couch Potato10
Complete the first tier of the challenge “Couch Potato”. (6)

The Couch Potato challenge requires you to watch a replay with friends.

Select Multiplayer -> Replays -> Watch with Friends. Invite at least one other player to the room. Use the achievement trading thread to find other players. Choose a replay and watch it. You can also join another players replay lobby for the achievement. The achievement will unlock when after the replay ends.

EX-ceptional20
Complete the third tier of the challenge “EX-ceptional” in any mode. (2)

The third tier of the “EX-ceptional” challenge requires you to perform 100 EX moves.

An EX move is a more powerful version of a special move. They are performed the same way as the normal version of a special move, except you press two punches/kicks instead of just one. EX moves also require some super meter. When the blue part of your super bar at the bottom corner of your side of the starts flashing, this indicates you have enough meter to perform a EX move. Earn super meter by doing any attack.

Each character has different EX moves. While in-game, press start -> Character Move List and select whatever character you’re using. Special moves that have an EX variation will have an EX icon next to it. Take note of the inputs for this move and remember to hit two punches/kicks instead of just one. If you did it correctly, then your character will flash yellow during the move.

To make this faster, you can go to Options -> Settings -> Dipswitches and change the value of EX Move Energy Move Requirement to 1. This way, EX moves don't use any meter and you can spam them over and over. You can also set up a local match with a second controller and do it at your leisure. You can keep track of your progress by viewing the challenges from the main menu, or looking at the sidebar in-game.

Wax On, Wax Off20
Complete the third tier of the challenge “Wax On, Wax Off” in any mode. (1)

The third tier of “Wax On, Wax Off” requires you to perform 75 parries.

A parry is similar to blocking, except the player takes no chip damage, and allows them to counter-attack.

Tap forward against mid/high attacks at the moment of impact. Tap down for low attacks at the moment of impact. You’ll know you’ve done it correctly if your character changes poses and briefly flashes white.

Set up a local match with a second controller to do this quickly. On the second controller, just keep hitting jab (X by default), and tap forward on your other controller over and over. You can keep track of your progress by viewing the challenges from the main menu, or looking at the sidebar in-game.

Super Artist20
Complete the third tier of the challenge “Super Artist” in any mode. (1)

The third tier of the “Super Artist” achievement requires you to perform a total of 75 “Super Arts.”

See the “Big Finish” achievement for more information on how to perform Super Arts. This achievement can be done in single, or multi-player.

If you’re having trouble, you can start a local match with a second controller and do it at your leisure.

Going Streaking20
Complete the second tier of the challenge “Going Streaking” in ranked online mode. (9)

The second tier of the “Going Streaking” challenge requires you to win 5 ranked matches in a row.

Choose Multiplayer -> Ranked Match. You'll be randomly matched with a player. Do your best to win five matches in a row.

You can try to boost this but it can be difficult if there are a lot of players online. To boost, have you and your partner enter ranked match at the same time. You'll enter a random lobby and you can see the other players name before hitting the ready button. If you get matched with your partner, great! If not, you can simply back out of the game without penalty and try again.

Use the achievement trading thread to find a partner.

Practice Makes Perfect20
Complete the challenge “Practice Makes Perfect”. (2)

The “Practice Makes Perfect” achievement requires you to complete 55 trials.

From the main menu, select Singleplayer -> Trials mode. From here, choose any trial and completing each will count toward the total. There are a few different types of trials. There's a section dedicated to parrying attacks, defeating a CPU opponent with lowered health, and combos which make up the majority of trials.

There are 110 trials in all. You only need to complete 55 of them. Typically, trials #1-3 for each section/character are fairly easy, while #4-5 will much more difficult. Do as much as you can in each section/character and then move on to the next. There should be more than enough easy ones to get you up to 55.

Sometimes it helps to see what the combo looks like in order to perform it. VesperArcades YouTube channel has videos of the majority of trials, along with a top-down view of the players hands.

There's a glitch that allows you to stun your opponent in trial mode. When you stun your opponent, whatever you do afterwards counts towards the combo. Using this, you basically split all the combo trials into two parts. The stun glitch is detailed here.

Capcom plans to patch this glitch in the future. If you still want to use this glitch, you can remove the patch by clearing your cache, or decline to install the patch.

Sticks & Stones20
Complete the first tier of the challenge “Sticks & Stones” in any mode. (6)

The “Sticks & Stones” challenge requires you to win a round using a taunt.

The majority of taunts in this game can hit your opponent, and also do a small amount of damage. To a taunt, press the HP/Fierce and HK/Roundhouse buttons at the same time (RB+RT by default). Lower your opponents health until it’s almost zero. Then get close to your opponent and hit HP/HK at the same time to taunt. Keep doing it until they’re knocked out.

If you're having trouble, you can start a local match with a second controller and do it at your leisure.

Pocket Full Of Quarters30
Complete the challenge “Pocket Full Of Quarters”. (4)

The “Pocket Full Of Quarters” challenge requires you to beat arcade mode.

Select Singleplayer -> Arcade mode from the main menu. Choose any character you’re comfortable with and play through the ten stages. Difficulty doesn’t matter here, so set the difficulty to one star in the options/settings if you like. You may also use as many continues as you like.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You can NOT modify dipswitches for this achievement. If you modified any of them already, reset them to default before you attempt this achievement.

Mystery Man20
Complete the challenge “Mystery Man”. (10)

The “Mystery Man” challenge requires you to find and defeat the character named “Q” in arcade mode. Difficulty doesn't matter here, so change the difficulty to one star in the options/settings if you like.

You can fight him if you fulfill the following requirements by the time you've reached Stage 7 or 8.

Don't lose any round.
Don't continue.
Get a grade of at least a D or better on every stage.
Get 2 or more Special Points.
Get 5 Super Finishes

If you've done it all Q will appear after your last fight. If you are in danger of losing a round, you can hit start on a second controller to save yourself.

Also try turning off "guard" in the dip switches. This'll make it so you can't block, and neither can the opponent. From there you can just splatter them by spamming moves and you'll be fighting Q in no time.
