The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Achievements

Kill 10 foes in a row without losing any Vitality.

You can save to protect your progress in this achievement. So after you’ve defeated a few enemies without losing any vitality, save your game. Then if you get hit, you can simply reload. You do not have to earn this achievement during a single encounter.

The easiest place to get this is during the prologue, before and after you fire the Ballista. In these encounters, small, manageable waves of enemies will attack. Remember, this doesn’t have to be done in one encounter, so the Ballista firing section will not impede your progress. Make sure to make liberal use of your block.

Good place to do it is outside the Visionary's hut in The Path To Vision quest with infinite spawn of harpies.

Better place to do it is outside Flotsam against the Nekkers.

Got it in the Prologue when fighting guards just after you fire the ballista, on Dark difficulty.

Got it in Nekker cave during Malena quest. Just kill one or two and save and repeat until it pops up.

I just prefered to do it with harpies. I hate nekkers' evasive manouvers ;-)
And of course saving often and repeating is recommended as Aidexx suggested.

Why would you save and repeat all the time? Just throw bombs at enemies, and you should get it easily.

Does this include not being able to get caught in snare traps while not in combat??

@8... the combat can take time to get used to. Remember that rolling and ripostes are your friend. As has been mentioned, it is quite easy in Act 1 outside Flotsam in the cave filled with Nekkers. Construct several grapeshot bombs before you enter, as they do massive damage on Nekkers and in a wide range of effect. Once there, take your time, keep distance, and unleash the bombs. Should easily be able to pick up the Torn Asunder cheevo at the same time. Piece of cake. (and this cake... is not a lie)

The Quen Sign is your friend. Cast it before any fights, and as soon as you take a hit, dodge out of the fight and cast it again. Being hit with Quen active doesn't take vitality. Another good strategy is to purposefully leave 1 Nekker nest operational in the first chapter, remember where it is and go there armed with Grapeshot/Dancing Star after killing the Kayran and meeting kingslayer (as you should be a pretty decent level) but before triggering the events that lead to the end of the chapter. Spam your bombs and then go back to town, rest for 24hrs and return. I say return to town because this is also a good way to earn a few orens, as a stack of Nekker Teeth/Claws goes for a fair price. Continue til you get your achievement then blow up the nest when you're finished/bored of farming.

I agree with Sheridan6 - harpies were perfect to kill for this chievo.

#10 Very true about Quen. Even better if you upgrade it to level 3, it'll then take multiple hits before fading. Get a good silver sword (Best in Act I on easy mode is Superb Witcher's Silver Sword) and go to the cave where you get Ostmurk to help you fight the Kayran. The majority of the Nekkers in the cave are ordinary ones (not Warrior Nekkers) which can be taken down in 1 or 2 sword strikes. Since you can take them out so quickly you can just attack one, kill it and instantly move to the next.

With Quen cast, you're protected against the few lucky hits that actually make it through, and the rest of the time you're moving too quickly to be hit and killing so quickly that it's almost impossible for the Nekkers to keep up with you.

I got this by spawn-killing the herpies outside the Visionaire hutt, since they are unlimited.

get to the point where you have to cross the fog in chapter 2 and get about halfway through it, pop quen (helps with any lv of venting) and just kill every specter that spawns. beware of the quen and when it goes away, use it again.

I got this in the very beginning after the siege tower hits the wall and before you use the ballista on the archer tower.
