The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Achievements

Kill all the trolls in the game.

Again, there are three trolls in the game. Obviously, you can't just ignore them, you have to seek them out to kill them. Instead of helping them you can kill them on the spot.

Chapter I

There is one troll in this chapter. First off, you can't just ignore him and get the achievement. You must participate in his side quest to count for the achievement. You can always find it by the ruined bridge, but just to make it easier, take the quest "Troll Trouble" on the noticeboard outside of the inn. Upon going to the troll, you will fight it a little bit, but the fight will stop when the troll's health is about halfway down. Instead of continuing the conversation, tell him that he needs to die and finish the fight (turn in the quest back in Flotsam for your reward, but it's not necessary).

Chapter II

Towards the end of the chapter (regardless of whose side you're on), you will encounter two trolls. The first is a she-troll being attacked by some mercenaries, so kill them. A dialogue will occur, but instead of helping her find her husband, initiate a fight and kill her. Go down the path some more to encounter her husband, who will ask you where she is. Tell him you killed her, and he will understandably fight you. Unfortunately, you will need to kill him.

Once you kill the last troll in Chapter II, the achievement will unlock.

This one means you have to have a second playthrough depending on if you kill all of the trolls or let them all live.

I'll go ahead and kill all of them first to get a 30G boost just in case I don't playthrough a second time.

Pretty sure there are just 4 trolls. 1 in chapter 1 and 3 in chapter 2. Not done this cheevo yet personally, but I had the other one for saving them all pop up before the end of chapter 2.

There are 3, 1 under the bridge in chapter 1. 2 in chapter 2 (troll and his wife) when doing the first mission regarding Triss.

Anyone know if you can spare them and close the quest, then murder them after completing quest to get both achievements on one play through? I spared the first one and closed it out and then killed it immediately after and it didn't change my quest outcome. If anything I guess it will count as sparing them but you get to keep their loot

There are 3 trolls to my knowledge. I should have killed them for my first playthrough because my second will be on Dark Mode. Oh, well.

The troll achievements count for all the trolls in the game. Troll #1 is found in chapter 1, troll #2, #3 and #4 in chapter 2. The first two trolls in chapter 2 are obviously the couple that are involved in the mainstory quest. The last one is kinda hidden in a tight mountain path outside of the kaedweni camp (way to the right from the mist). I'm not sure if it spawns on Iorveth's path, but it's definatly there on Roche's.

I got in chapter 2 There is 1 troll to spare/kill in chapter 1 and 3 in chapter 2 however you only have to spare/kill the the troll couple (wife and husband)the other troll just south from the brothel across the field in chapter 2 doesn't count. As its not story related

Does anyone know if you can can get this on Roche's path? Cuz when you go to the other side of the mist the path that I'm pretty sure led to the troll couple was blocked off by rubble.

So, if you save the troll in "Troll Trouble" and get the reward from the mayor. Then go back and kill him can you still get the achievement? It saves he's saved in the journal but the tongue in my inventory states differently. If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate it since I can't find an answer anywhere.

The best thing to do here for the two achievements 1.for killing all trolls and 2.for not killing all trolls.
Make your choice from the start on what you want to do kill them or save them?
To get the benafit of this games story and plot you need to play the game again anyway so do the opposite to what you did on your first run.
At least then you know you are going to get them instead of trying to cut corners.

On Roche's path i think that you have to kill a different troll and the couple will not count.
Maybe not sure

Yes. You can go to the two trolls after the mist is gone. You have to go south from Henselt's camp.

The two trolls in chapter 2 are near the cabin (burned village) where is that man who buys your harpy feathers. There is a wooden sign (skull or something), go that way and you'll encounter mr troll who tells you where's his missus. Kill her and come back to kill mr troll and the achievement is yours (on Ioverths path).

if you decide to save the couple trolls then you wont be able to go back an kill them later so if you need to kill them then do it before completing the quest, i did this on iorveths path an they both are now immune to my attacks which sucks cos i want to kill them now as i killed the first troll so i wont get any cheevo an will have to do it another twice over.

Dont be alarmed if you can't get to the trolls your first time through the mist on Roche's side. when you seek out henselt at the Aedern battle go through the mountain pass to the West of the Kedwenei camp, you'll meet both trolls on the way to complete chapter 2

13, there are no such things as 'tralls' in this game....

Right I'm gonna clarify this. There are 4 Trolls in the whole game. The one in Flotsam, The He- and She-Trolls of Vergan in Chapter 2 and the Battlefield Troll on Roche's path in Chapter 2. You can meet the Vergan Trolls at any point on Iorveth's Path(they are near the ship for the Mystic River quest), or in the mission 'The Siege of Vergan' on Roche's Path, you literally can't miss them. For each achievement you must either kill or HELP, not just spare, the Flotsam and Vergan Trolls. The Battlefield Troll does not count, regardless or what anyone says; I personally completed Roche's Path on my first playthrough and never once came across the B/F Troll and got the achievement for helping. If I complete Iorveth's Path and kill the 3 trolls and it doesnt give me the achievement because I did

I can confirm that the BF Troll is not one you need to kill. I just played on Iorveth's path and killed the other 3 trolls without ever seeing the BF troll and the achievement popped.

For those who are wondering, if you help the Troll in Flotsam during the Troll Trouble Quest, then turn around and kill him. It will still count towards this achievement.

@29 good to know. i made a save in Ch1 right before i chose Iorveth/Roche path so i could go back and do both paths without having to play through prologue/ch1 again. saved trolls first time. now i can go kill ch1 troll and kill ch2 trolls on Iorveth path.

This may sound odd, but killing these obviously sentient trolls made me feel like an utter bastard
