Torchlight Achievements

Enchantment Overload

Successfully enchant one item 10 times

In the main town there is an enchanter. He has a staff icon above his head and is on the right side in the middle of the area. Interact with him and you'll see a price to the left in yellow. You can enchant various items and that yellow number is how much gold it will cost you. If you look below, it shows a disenchant chance. That percent is showing you the chance it has to fail. This achievement will have you enchanting the same item 10 times. It does not have to be in a row, you can just spam until you receive the achievement. Afterwards, dashboard so you get all of your money back. It would be a good idea to have around 25,000 gold or more at minimum when attempting this. Pick the cheapest item as well. You can also feel free to dashboard on failure. Just enchant a few times, then go through a portal, come back, enchant more and if you fail just dashboard. Every time you go through a portal your game will save. This way you can have a really good item.

There are also a couple Enchantment Shrines in the game. They do not cost anything but are extremely rare. They look like the Health or Mana Shrines, except they are yellow.

I'm trying to get this achievement but every time I'm about to reach the tenth
enchantment it takes away all my enchantments & says fortune frowns on you.
Then I have to start all over, It's pissing me off does anyone know what I'm
doing wrong?

On the PC version there are addons that re-balance enchanting in different ways to remove the "wipe", because people were annoyed with it back there too.
But yea; enchant enchant enchant, and hope for the best.

If it tells you that all enchantments have been removed, just go to the dashboard and the game won't save.

Finally got the achievement!!! I noticed that of to the side it says
disenchant% the more you enchant the higher it gets, so when you get to around
the ninth enchantment there's a 20% chance of your item getting wiped.
So I saved & did what #4 said just back out to the dashboard, it took me
like six times of doing this before I got the achievement. I promptly backed
out then spent my 3000 gold I would've spent on the tenth enchantment &
blew it all on my other equipment :D

What I did was make a new character and put a low level item in the shared stash. I then got back on my main character, grabbed the item, and just spam enchanted it. Since the cost for enchanting lower level items is much cheaper, you can make a lot more attempts without going broke. I had about 34k gold and I was able to get the achievement without multiple reloads. Once you get the achievement, just quit to dashboard as previously described to "undo" the enchantments and get your money back.

I used an enchantment well on a ring I had been working on. While it didn't take away my enchantments like a full fail would, it didn't add anything and the well dried up. So while I'm guessing you won't lose anything there's a chance you won't gain.

Even though the Shrine of Enchantment doesn't mention achance of losing everything, it does happen. Saving before every enchantment try then exiting the game if it goes badly (I just turn off the box) lets you restart where you were with no loss...

#11 is correct. I lost all enchants at a shrine, but saved just before.

The enchantment spots in the dungeons have the same disenchant percentage.

You need to have 10 enchantments on the same item at once. Changing items does not increase the counter, and having the item disenchanted resets it to zero.

The easiest way to do this achievement is to every 3 levels enter a dungeon or exit a game as this makes the game auto save, so if it fails you can also try again by just resarting the game, make sure you don't do this after you disenchant though,
