Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Achievements

High-Score Hero

30
Earn 500,000 points in Arcade mode.

You must score 500,00 points in Arcade Mode in order for this to unlock. During Arcade Mode at the top right you will see your Score this score will increase depending on certain factors during each match. At the end of each match you will be given points for the following factors:

  • Stability
  • Basic Offense
  • Basic Defense
  • Advanced Offense
  • Advanced Defense

Playing normally through Arcade Mode will not net you nearly enough points for either trophy. You can aim to earn a perfect on each match through the regular settings as you would from a speed run for a character ending however getting perfects will only get you 50,000 points plus a little extra from your in-game actions. If you’re lucky you could use that method to barely hit pass 400,000 points for The Points Do Matter however for 500,000 you will have to use a defensive method.

This method can be pretty tedious and take a little over an hour so first make sure you have the game on the following settings:

  • Difficulty: Normal (or Easy)
  • Timer: Infinite
  • Damage: Lowest

For the difficulty you want it high enough so that your opponent is at least attacking you however be wary that during the last 2-3 stages the opponents start to fight game pulling off short BnB combos, so there may be times where they just overwhelm you so if you’re inexperienced you might want to go down a difficulty (difficulty does not affect score).

Now during character select you want 2 high health characters with good snap backs and then one character to spam their meter regeneration assist skill. Just to list a few, good characters to have on point to perform your snap backs with are:

  • Wesker
  • Frank West
  • Tron

Now you want to select your final character who you will spam during each match to build meter, here is a list of characters with meter regeneration assists:

  • Morrigan (Assist Type Dark Harmonizer)
  • Amaterasu (Assist Type Bloom)
  • Frank West (Assist Type Pick me up)

Using these assists should earn you around 30% of meter to your character. You can easily spam the assist due to its fast reload so you should easily hit 1 meter in seconds. Now that you have the character select done, let’s move on to the method behind this achievement.

Battle Strategy
For this method you want to build up your basic and advanced offense and defense and to do so you will be spamming the following moves:

  • Advancing Guards (+ while blocking)
  • Snap Backs ( + or)
  • Crossover Counters (+ or while you are blocking an attack from an opposing character )

Each of these take up a bar of meter which is why you need to build as much meter as you can while avoiding killing off the enemy. Doing a large amount during a match should net you AT LEAST 80,000 per match so by the time you make it to Stage 6 you should have enough already for the trophy.

Tips
Looking at your opponents team, see if there are any characters with good projectiles. If so snap them in and then proceed to spamming your meter building assist while trying to keep a good distance away from that opposing character. Every so often they’ll throw out their projectile move making it easy to react to for an advancing guard opposed to predicting normals from close range opponents and having to watch out for grabs.

Once you build up to five meters go ahead and use raw Snap backs on your CPU opponent, try and do enough so that the projectile heavy character is back on the field upon the end of the Snap Backs so that you can continue to earn easy Advancing guards while building your meter.

Perfect times to utilize Crossover counters is when your point character has a lot of red health from chip damage, not only will using a Crossover Counter get him out of the field safely but it will also significantly increase your points for advanced defense. When that character is on the sidelines they will recover that red health while your second character is doing all the guarding this time around.

In the end this is a very tedious method and shouldn’t be rushed, each stage could possibly take 15-20 minutes if not more so keep a lot of time prepared for this.

MvC3 has points in the single player, but they don't do anything besides sit on the leaderboards and who checks the single player leaderboards in a fighting game?

@awsomedude360

Well, "OBJECTION!" will be in there in some form but I wouldn't say that's all he could do. I can actually see him playing similarly to Captain Commando in the last two MvC titles. Specials would call out random characters that appear throughout the Ace Attorney series. There is actually a lot of potential variety for that. Aside from the obvious things like suitcases and such there's tasers, whips, coffee (oh god I would love it if Godot appeared).

I guess we'll see soon enough. Wouldn't be surprised at all if that was how he functioned though.

I guess everyone got their wish with the "Objection" line, because Phoenix Wright looks phenomenal in this game.

I have a bad feeling this achievement is going to be really hard... very few people in the original MvC3 actually have over 500,000 points in arcade mode. :/

I got all perfects even on Galactus (although it was on very easy) and I ended up with roughly around 460,000 ish. So I'm not sure what more you can do.

Okay guys this is what you do, make a team consisting of Phoenix Wright as your
first character. The other 2 characters don't really matter. Set the difficulty
to very easy or hard depending on how good are you are at blocking. Set the
damage to lowest. Then at the start of the fight go into Turnabout Mode
because Phoenix Wright is invincible as an assist character in that mode. Now
switch to a different character. Kill all but one of the opponents. Damage the
third opponent halfway or more. Now you are to use advancing guards against all
of the opponents attacks til your characters are almost dead. Remember to
switch your characters often so that they regenerate health. If you do this
right you should be able to get to 500,000 points at the end of it.

what dosul said. it also helps to land high hit combos. then its just about how long
u can handle blocking for advance and normal as they both earn separate points if
you do it right you could earn urself about an average score base around 70-80k per match

I got this achievement a few hours ago. This is how I did it:
***
1. Select 3 characters with a very high vitality (1mil+). At first, I picked Phoenix Wright (1,000,000HP), as Dosul recommended, Ghost Rider (1,000,000HP) and Nemesis T-Type (1,150,000HP). It worked find, but Phoenix Wright was pretty much useless. Ghost Rider was fine, but for some reasons it was quite hard to perform advancing guards against some attacks with him. On the 4th stage, I switched Phoenix Wright with Hulk (1,200,000HP) and Ghost Rider with Taskmaster (1,100,000HP) and finished arcade mode with that team.
2. Set the difficulty to "Very Easy", the damage to "Lowest" & the time to "unlimited".
3. Unlike what Dosul&XDstaZ NZx recommended, I recommend not to kill all but one of the opponents but to leave them al

(continuing my last message)
3. Unlike what Dosul&XDstaZ NZx recommended, I recommend not to kill all but one of the opponents but to leave them all alive for now and attack every once in a while. That will make the points farming easier. All you need to do is to perform normal guards and advancing guards. However, you need to remember to attack every once in a while and switch your characters very often to let your wounded characters to heal. Once your characters are almost dead, kill the character(s) your opponent has left to make sure you won't lose.

(Part 3/3)
If you do it correctly, you should gain about 70,000-85,000 points per match.
I've tried it twice and got about 450,000 on my 1st try and exactly 553,118 on my 2nd try (got the achievement on my second attempt).

Although I have changed a few things from Dosul's material to make the achievement easier to get (at least for me), I would still like to thank him, because without his strategy I wouldn't have been able to build mine, so thank you, Dosul, for your extremely helpful comment :).
