Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Achievements

The Emperor Protects

Complete Part 1 of the game on Hard difficulty in a single session without dying or restarting.

Part 1 of Space Marine is Chapters 1 through 4. You must complete all 4 chapters on Hard, without releoading checkpoints, without dying, and without quiting. Its best to set aside a couple hours for this, or else just pause the game if you must leave.

Notable areas of difficulty are near the end of Chapter 3, where you must defend one of your squadmates from waves of Orks, Gretchin, and Squigs and the end of Chapter 4, where you must use a Plasma Cannon to shoot down an Ork dropship.

@2. Hard mode me be a breeze, who knows. Space Marines have some serious armor so they may still be able to take hails of bullets. And then theres the fact that I beleive most of the enemies are orks. Who mostly use light firearms and melee weapons. So calm down..

You probably will have to beat the game at least once to get better wargear if it's very hard

Sounds like a fun achievement to get, you'll probably have to play really agressive & spam Fury attacks since that makes you recover health.
I bet you could possibly do this in co-op since it says in a single session & NOT single player.

@5 not sure this game has any co-op, as far i know it has multiplayer tho.

There wont be any co-op at launch, but it will be released after 30 days.

still no word on what type of co-op it will be, more than likely going to just be a horde mode type thing.

"Just be a horde mode type thing"

What do you mean by just? That would be awesome.

Im sure they mentioned co op campaign at the start of development. That's what I'm interested in. Horde modes have become a bug meh in my opinion.

We have to earn that sentence "The Emperor protects!"

well, I'm going to try this carrying the heaviest weapons I can (probably heavy bolter. If it follows game terms, that is the most efficient to kill orks), and just stay back and move slowly. I bet I'd take probably three hours to make sure I don't rush into a trap, but it would be worth it

After playing the demo version on hard I would have to say this achievement could be pretty difficult, you can't go into large amounts of boyz without dying and I figured out that using mainly ranged is the way to do it however with limited ammo and the amount of boyz/nobz make this tricky, however the first demo mission might not even be the first mission in the game, but once I got to the end part with lots of orks it just got really difficult to try and melee them and even while doing executions and getting back health you still take damage and can die mid-execution.

I failed miserably around Part 1: Chapter 2, where you have to fend off a couple drop ships' worth of Orks. Survival up to this point has been relatively easy.

I got this after two tries (I accidentally touched the touch pad for opening the disc tray when I when to move a cable near my xbox when I was at Chapter 4). Use ranged combat for most of the enemies and then use Fury on Nobs and spam X,X,X,Y. Should be no problem.

Anybody happen to know if you're able to quickly jump to the Xbox Dashboard if you die, or if it saves too quickly? I got killed once when my cat jumped onto my controller, but I was able to jump to the dashboard before anything popped up saying to continue or whatnot.

Also, if nobody knows, I'll post once I finish Part 1. Dead Island has been taking up my time lately :c

Chapter 3 where you have to protect Leandros as he is pushing the shell is
pretty hard. Kill the squigs first. Remember to use gretchins to regain health.
Remember on Ch. 4 when the gunship comes that you can detach the plasma cannon
and it still has infinite ammo.

@26 You can't exit out of the game session in any way, whether it's to the game menu or the dashboard. It all has to be done in one session.
I think Relic did a good job with this achievement making you do it in a single session because it actually gives it some difficulty unlike the daily/weekly challenges on Halo Reach where you can just save & quit then resume progress .

Take your time, use the pistol mostly & save fury for healing, NOT combat. You avoid most melee this way! The end of chapter 3 is the hardest part by far, just don't miss the squigs & save your Fury for the Nob and you should be fine.

@ctpblackamar: It's pretty easy, just rip the plasma gun from the mount and get cover in the stairs where you entered (the junk in the borders protect you from the dropshit machine gun, the ammo is infinite, the weapon just overheat.

SUPER EASY 25G !!!! I got this on my first try with no difficulty what so ever. At chapter 3 when leandros is pushing the shell hide round the corner and wait for all enemies to come to you and when u destroy the dropship just rip off the cannon and hide at the door way u came in through (or the other side) and it takes about 3 shots to kill the nobz dropped SUPER EASY (for me anyway)

I tried getting killed by those first gretchins... when they say without dying they really mean it. Finished part I without dying again, and no achievement. I went from pressing new campaign to seeing part II appear without getting off the couch to get this.

You need to go slow and use ranged attacks. Don't rush things and you will be ok.

Popped this morning, pretty easy. Tricky parts involve the shell and the very last encounter in Chapter 4, but the Plasma Cannon helps tremendously. When the Ork dropship approaches and drops Boyz on you, use them to heal yourself. I got pretty close to dead a couple times in this spot mostly due to the extremely close quarters, but if you take down the Orks quickly they aren't a problem.

The achievement popped right when part 2 started. So after you destroy the gunship, just be patient.

Wednesday, March 21, 2012 @ 09:22:32 AM

I found this quite difficult, during the shell pushing part i would recommend Not hiding around the corner I died twice doing this due to the squiggs being able to just get way to close, not hiding gives you much more open ground to fight against the beast. During the train part, when the boys are dropped i found that a full charged plasma shot stunned the nobs and killed the smaller orks, follow up with another charged shot and they never even get close to you. Have fun~

Added note------for chapter 3 when Leandros is pushing shell....load the top left corner with vengenace shells to knock off a majority of ork snipers....then mop up what u can of the snipers with bolter or favorite helps with circling technique...along with avoiding corners......this by far is the biggest pain for the achievement.

can you die, immediately shut off the xbox, reload the last checkpoint, and still get the achievement, or does the "without restarting" part imply a straight run-through with no loading games?

confirmed: you can not -- repeat: NOT!!! -- turn off the xbox after dying and still get this achievement

Friday, July 13, 2012 @ 01:03:49 PM

Pretty easy to get.
My advice: Play through chapter 1 on easy first in order to refresh your memory, then once you're done, do it on hard mode. Stick to ranged combat, and don't be afraid to unload with the bolter. Ammo is easy to find. If by some chance you do run out of ammo, stick to the pistol.
Let the other Space Marines do most of the fighting for you, and if the Imperial Guard are fighting the Orks, stand back and just wait for the Orks to die, as most of the Guard can't be killed.
Fury gives you instant executions [so no need to stun]. Use this to kill Nobs easily. If you don't have enough Fury, use Grenades on the Nobs.
There are only 2 bits where you might struggle.
The part when Leandros is pushing the shell in. Use the Vengence Launcher for this, and make sure to take out

I've just completed this without getting the achievement, from the 'New Campaign' button to well into part two, the only thing I might have done wrong was checking the 'Shock & Awe' achievement when that popped, I paused the game by pressing the Xbox button and went to the achievement screen. Very, very disappointed, not wasting time on this again for a while.
Difficult parts;
i) 1st Nob battle, stand at the back of the guardsmen and take out the snipers, when the Nob jumps off the dropship then charge him, x,x,x,y, run away then repeat.
ii) Covering Leandros; Take cover, take out the snipers, pop an occasional grenade into the horde to keep it thinned out, and break cover to take out the Nob with vengeance launcher, hit him with 5 shots, then set them all off together.
iii)The Dropshi
