Introduction:
Welcome to Wipeout 3, the third game for Kinect based on the ABC television series. The game plays quite differently from the previous games, mostly in that it is an over the shoulder platformer instead of a side-scrolling platformer. You can also use just your arms or just your legs to control the game, as opposed to the previous whole body moves, which is a good rest for the knees and back. Fortunately, the game is much easier than the previous versions, so jump right in.
Step 1: Easy playthrough:
Honestly, you could go right to Black and Blue, but there are a few reasons why you would want to start on easy. First, you will likely get better times, nabbing the majority of the Silver Ballsy awards for time without even noticing. The reason it is easier is because you will automatically skip to the next checkpoint if you fail three times. While doing this, make sure to grab as many rings as you can and try to get the Smallsy on each episode. You'll be able to see which rings you missed later, but not which smallsy, so make a note if you miss a Smallsy.
Step 2: Black and Blue playthrough:
Each level has a Silver Ballsy award for just passing the level on Black and Blue difficulty, though you don't need to do particularly well, just get by. If you see any rigns that you have missed (or any Smallsies) try to get them here, but don't stress if you missed them. Just focus on getting through the levels and getting the awards and achievements for doing so. It would be wise to play the entire episode as opposed to selecting individual levels to make the grind easier at the end of the game.
Step 3: Golden Ballsy Awards:
Now, you are going to want to go back and collect the final Silver Ballsy awards to get the Golden Ballsy awards for each episode. You can easily see what you are missing. If you are missing rings, play the level on Black and Blue mode since you will not automatically skip the section if you fail too often. If you are missing a time award, play on easy. Nothing is that hard, though it may take a few tries for the final few time challenges.
Step 4: Money grinding:
There are a lot of things that you need to buy in the store for the final achievement, so you will need to spend at least a little time grinding for money. The best way to do this is to just keep replaying the Winter Sports episode (Episode 3) since it can be done very quickly. Do not select individual levels, since you will get a $50,000 bonus at the end of the full episode.
Conclusion:
While there are a few things that get annoying in the game, particularly the grinding, nothing is all that hard. You will need some skill, but nothing is terribly difficult and if you are willing to put the time in, you will be able to add another completion to your tag.
