When you are playing, save anytime your bankroll significantly increases or if you do a takedown. You save by pressing the start button (autosave is forced on during career mode). If you lose a significant amount of your bankroll, especially early in a tournament, you can exit out WITHOUT SAVING by pressing the guide button on your controller and going to the dashboard. Then reload the game and go back to the event you were playing in. This does take some time since the loading time for the game is ridiculous, but it is still quicker overall than restarting the tournament if you lose. (Kudos to D0cman88 for figuring this out!

Blind Fool from the forums adds - If you press start and then select exit game without a showdown you can save your money without the extra long load times. However once it's gone to showdown you have to press the Xbox button. This is a good way if you force your opponents all in by the turn card and are fast at working out your outs in your head, I can usually know what I need to win in about 2 seconds even against multiple people, this lets me force an all in move and still have time to quit out without going back to the dashboard.

The way to win this game – not a good way to play poker, but it will get you the achievements – is to use your bankroll to force the computer to fold until their bankrolls are much smaller than yours, and then take them down.

The first 5-10 hands can be the most difficult as you do not have a larger bankroll so they are more likely to call your bets. Be prepared to reload quite often on the first table of each event. After that, it becomes much less frequent.

The process to follow is to raise pre-flop, but only the minimum amount. After the flop, raise between 10-25% of the highest remaining player’s bankroll. After the turn, raise 50% of the highest remaining player’s bankroll. After the river, go all in if you have a good hand, or just raise more than they have available if you do not have a good hand. The computer is more likely to call you if you go all in than if you just bet more than they have available. Typically, you want them to fold after giving you a chunk of their money, unless they are going to exit the game if they lose.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Even if you have crap for your hand, if the computer goes all in, call them! If there are more players still in with larger bank rolls, then raise. I won the majority of my showdowns with a pair, often a low pair. On amateur setting, the computer does not use very good judgment for going all-in.

I played each event after the first 5-10 hands and not counting the final table WITHOUT looking at what my cards were. I purely played the force-bluff approach and rarely had to reload. The first 5-10 rounds and the last few people on the final table I would fold pre-flop if I had crap, just to avoid reloading.

This approach works for the Horse Invitational to a limited extent due to the limited betting setup, so be prepared to fold and/or reload more often in that event.

ALL In & Win Chip Series25
Unlock all of the ALL In & Win Collector Chips.

There are four chips for the four possible places to go All-In and win. You should get these pretty early on, but if necessary, wait until you are at a final table and your bank is at least twice as big as your closest competitor. Then go all-in at each step four hands in a row and you should get this.

Poker Hands Chip Series55
Unlock all of the Poker Hands Collector Chips.

Most of these chips you will get just playing the game. Two bear mentioning…Straight Flush and Royal Flush. You will have to play a lot AND get lucky, but you can adjust your playing style to improve your odds. Instead of forcing players out through the power of your bankroll, whenever both of your two initial cards are capable of working in either a straight flush or royal flush, just check, don’t raise. This will ensure that players stay in the game instead of folding, letting you see the flop, turn, and river. After the flop, if you do not have three of the five necessary for the hand, go back to forcing the computer to fold. After the turn, if you don’t have four of the five, same thing.

You have somewhat better odds of getting a straight flush or royal flush playing Seven Card rather than Texas Hold’em, so replaying the $75,000 Horse event may be an option. Get to the start of the first Seven Card section, save, and play through until the change to Omaha, then fold until it is Seven Card Stud again. You only really play for 15 hands out of 25, but it does increase the odds of getting a straight/royal flush.

This is the most frustrating achievement in the game by far, because it is so dependent upon luck.

Single Hand Takedown Chip Series30
Unlock all of the Single Hand Takedown Collector Chips.

There are two chips – take down two players in one hand, and take down three players in one hand. Both of these should come just playing the tournaments following the guidelines for the Event wins. If you are having issues, make sure you are calling every time someone goes all in. The computer is more likely to go all in on the No-Limit events, so replay them as needed to get this.

Total Takedowns Chip Series30
Unlock all of the Total Takedowns Collector Chips.

Play the tournaments and by the time you have gone through once you should have 400-500 takedowns (look in your player stats if you want to see the exact number). Pick a tournament and replay it to get the rest. Every single time someone goes all-in, call them on it. Even if you have a crappy hand, the computer’s logic for going all-in is a bit fuzzy. I got my second triple-takedown with a pocket 3 and 4, but all three computer players ended up with Ace High and the river card was a 3…so I won with a pair of 3’s. Let me say it again…ALWAYS CALL if someone goes all-in.

An alternative way to work on this achievement and the Poker Hands Chip Series achievement is to replay the $10,000 Heads-Up Invitational against Jennifer Tilly over and over again. The disadvantage is that you can’t do multiple takedowns, but the advantage is that you only have one person who can beat you. Just go all-in every hand (unless potential for a straight flush/royal flush) and eventually she will call you. Takes about 60-90 seconds on average for either you or her to win, not including load times.

Invitational Wins Chip Series55
Unlock all of the Invitational Wins Collector Chips.

There are five invitational events. Four are unlocked by going through the WSOP events, and the last is the Heads-Up Tournament on the Career menu. Win all five events and you will get this achievement.

Final Tables Chip Series35
Unlock all of the Final Tables Collector Chips.

You earn a Final Table Collector Chip by getting to the final table at each event (not counting invitationals, but including the TOC). The chip is awarded at the end of the event, whether you win or lose. Collect all of them for this achievement.

Winning Streak Chip Series40
Unlock all of the Winning Streak Collector Chips.

You get chips for winning 2, 3, 4, and 5 hands in a row. If you win 5 in a row, you will get all the chips. The chips are awarded at the end of the tournament, however.

Pro Player Takedowns Chip Series60
Unlock all of the Pro Player Takedowns Collector Chips.

You will get most of these just playing the tournaments normally. Once you get to Las Vegas, check your chips to see which ones you are missing. There should only be three or four at that point, so either memorize the names or write them down. Every time you get a new table of people, check for those names. If one is at the table, save and make sure you take him down. If someone else takes them down, abort out to the guide and re-enter the game.

You can also look for tournaments in which they are listed as the favorite. The favorite always shows up at the final table, so just replay that tournament and when you get to the final table take him down. All of the professionals show up in the Tournament of Champions Main Event as well, so you can replay that a couple of times to get any you missed that are not listed as favorites in a different tournament. The Chris Ferguson chip is only available at the final table of the TOC Main Event or at the $50,000 Heads Up Invitational. During the other events he serves as your coach and is not a player.
