Introduction:
The original game comes with 400 that is composed of a tutorial, a campaign, puzzles, and a bit of multiplayer. There are currently three DLC packs available, but only the Mars Pack has achievements for an additional 50 . As with other Worms games, this is a comedic strategy game that ultimately is modeled on a basic physics engine that requires you to account for the effects of gravity, the wind, and your environment when shooting at the enemy, along with a bit of platforming.

If you are aiming for all 450, download the Mars Pack DLC before starting up the game for the most efficient approach.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
When you first start the game you are required to go through an introductory tutorial in which you will unlock "Boom Boom". You are not able to access the main menu in the game until you complete this, so this should be the first achievement everyone unlocks. The campaign and puzzles are all possible to complete immediately after the tutorial due to a cheat code Team 17 (the developers) added to the game as an apology for some of the bugs that were included in the original release. To activate the cheat code, from the Main Menu select Help & Options, scroll down to credits, then press , , . At this point you will need to complete any single level. At the end of the level all achievements related to the campaign levels and puzzle levels will unlock: "Fast Learner", "The Trooper", "One for the Money", "Upstairs Wares", and "Worm Winner". If you have the Mars Pack DLC, you will also unlock "Strife on Mars".

Next, you will need to create a custom game type that you will use to unlock most of the achievements. From the Main Menu, choose Customisation and then Edit Game Settings. Choose Deathmatch, choose Destruction, then choose Edit Name and pick a memorable name such as "Achievements". Next, select Weapon Options. Using the , change the ammo levels for everything to infinity. The ammo level is displayed in the upper left corner of each square in the weapon panel. The values range from 0-9 and infinity. There are a few items that don't offer infinity as a choice, so set those to the maximum available (such as the girder, which can only go up to four). On the same screen, you will notice that some of the weapons also have a number listed in parentheses in the lower right corner. That is the delay before they are available, and you will want to press repeatedly until that value disappears. Press to go back to the Edit Game Settings menu, and choose Game Options and change Worm Health to 50, Sudden Death to None, Rope Swings to infinity, Worm Select to On, Teleport In to On and Girder Restriction to Off. Press to go back to the Edit Game Settings menu and choose Object Options. Change Weapon Drop Utility Drop, Health Drop to 90%, Coin Drop to 0%, Mines to none, and then press twice. You will be prompted to save, so press for yes.

Many of the achievements can be completed in local Versus matches using a clone of your team. A clone uses the same formation as yours, and is controlled by your same controller. This is intended for pass and play, but is excellent for earning achievements as well. To set up a local Versus match with a clone, from the Main Menu choose Versus, your game mode (typically DeathMatch unless you are working on a Forts achievement), and then change the Game Settings to the Achievements setting you created above. Next, select Add Player and the selection will default to "Clone of [your gamertag]". Choose this, press again to acknowledge that it will use your same controller, and then start the match.

Multiplayer:
There are eight achievements that must be done in online multiplayer. However, many of the other achievements can be done in multiplayer with a partner who sets you up for success. Of the multiplayer achievements, none should pose a particular challenge other than "Social Butterfly" which requires you complete a multiplayer game with 20 unique gamertags.

Before starting multiplayer, ensure that you have purchased at least one of each worm type (other than Soldier which you start with four of) and use the Customisation menu to create a formation with one of each. If you then choose it, you can set it to be your default formation. This will enable your multiplayer partner to unlock the various achievements requiring kills of each type of worm.

Mop-Up:
There are a few achievements that are likely to come naturally while playing towards other goals, but if you are missing any at this point the guide will point out how to earn each of your remaining situational achievements, such as "Wrecking Ball".

DLC: Mars Pack

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
As with the primary game, the cheat enabled by Turn 17 will unlock the campaign achievement, "Strife on Mars". If you did not have the DLC installed when you unlocked the primary game achievements, you will need to enter the cheat code again and then complete any campaign level. It does not have to be a Mars Pack level, any level works. At that point all you have left are five games to win online while the Mars theme is active, and then using the special weapons/powers in a game to complete the other three achievements along the way. See the guide for specific details.

Conclusion:
Due to the cheat added by Turn 17, this is the easiest Worms game available, and the only challenges may be finding 20 people to unlock "Social Butterfly". Overall it is a reasonably fast and simple 450.

There are 34 achievements with a total of 450 points

  • Completed all the tutorial levels (boot camp)

The tutorial is accessed from the Main Menu by selecting Single Player, Campaign, and then selecting the rat (Sewers). The boot camp tutorial, campaign and puzzles are all possible to complete immediately after the introductory tutorial due to a cheat code Team 17 (the developers) added to the game as an apology for some of the bugs that were included in the original release. To activate the cheat code, from the Main Menu select Help & Options, scroll down to credits, then press , , . At this point you will need to complete any one level to unlock "Fast Learner", "The Trooper", "One for the Money", "Upstairs Wares", and "Worm Winner". If you have the Mars Pack DLC, you will also unlock "Strife on Mars".

The quickest level to complete is part of the boot camp tutorial. From the Main Menu select Campaign and the selector will default to a rat icon labeled Sewer at the bottom of the screen. Press and you will see the description for Training 1: Weapons. Press again and complete the quick tutorial level to unlock the achievement.

Note that if you have not played a Worms game before, you should complete all eight of the tutorial levels so that you know how to play the game and can be efficient in the multiplayer. They take from three to five minutes each to complete.

  • Completed all the campaign missions

The campaign is accessed from the Main Menu by selecting Single Player and then Campaign. • Killed a total of 300 worms in online matches

You can complete this in private matches with one other player. You have to kill them through your actions, however, as having your partner surrender or jump in the water does not count toward your kills. Until you unlock all of your worms needed for "Class Act" you should play ranked games as each victory will earn you 80 credits. Once you are at a point of only needing kills, note that this achievement is for worms killed, not enemy worms... Create a private match using the achievement game settings from the road map on a Single Island or Two Island map, and pile all 8 worms (4 from you, 4 from your partner) into one big pile. Drop the Concrete Donkey on top and you will get 8 kills in a hurry.

  • Played with 20 players online

This achievement requires that you play with 20 other players in any online mode. The game is old enough that it can be difficult to find anyone online at this point, so you will likely need to use the resources of the site to coordinate with other players. The achievement will unlock once you have played a game with your 20th unique player. Note that if anyone disconnects at any point prior to the results screen, it does not count toward this achievement. You can surrender on your first turn, but if you are in a game with multiple players don't exit the game. Wait until the results screen to ensure the session counts.

  • Acquired 4 of each class

There are four classes of worms: Scientist, Scout, Soldier, and Heavy. Under the Customization menu you can purchase new worms using in-game currency. Once you have acquired four of each of the four classes of worms, the achievement will unlock. You start with four soldiers already, so you only need to purchase scouts, scientists, and heavies.

The first worm of each class costs 80 credits, the second costs 160 credits, the third costs 240 credits, and the fourth 320 credits. This adds up to 2400 credits you will need to unlock this achievement. You start with 800 credits, so you will need to earn 1600.

For the training (Sewer) levels, you will earn 10 credits for each level the first time you play them. This is not a bad idea if you are new to the Worms franchise. However, repeating levels doesn't provide more credits. The fastest way to earn credits is to find a partner and play ranked online games. You need 300 online kills for "Worminator", so you might as well earn credits while you are at it. Each online ranked win earns you 80 credits while a loss earns you 40 credits.

  • Completed all the single player content

The single player content is accessed from the Main Menu by selecting the Single Player, and encompasses the Campaign, Puzzles, and any DLC you have purchased. If you have the Mars Pack DLC, you will also unlock "Strife on Mars."

  • Winner in 10 allied matches online

Allied matches require three or four players in the same match. To choose alliances once you are in a lobby, press on your gamertag and pick a color at the Player Alliance field (you will be on this field by default, and pressing will cycle through the available colors/teams.) Ensure that you have two players on the winning team. This is possible to complete quickly with three players in a private match online by having the solo player surrender. To speed up the games, ensure that Random Map is set to ON and Teleport In is set to OFF.

  • Completed all the puzzle missions

The puzzle missions are accessed via the Main Menu by selecting Single Player, Puzzles. Press and you will see the description for Training 1: Weapons. Press again and complete the quick tutorial level to unlock the achievement.

  • Performed over 500 damage in one turn

Start a local versus Deathmatch with three clones using your Achievements game settings from the road map. Ensure that you use either the Single Island map template. When teleporting your worms in, place your first one off to the side and then all of the clones and yours in a pile in the middle of the screen, preferably in an area where an explosion will tend to funnel the worms back into the same location such as a crater or a deep body of water. On your first turn, press , choose the Concrete Donkey, and then press to use it on your pile of worms. Note that it is rather huge and will destroy all of the terrain, crates, worms and objects from the top of the screen to the bottom where you drop it, in a column that takes up roughly a quarter of the map. You can easily do 2-3,000 damage with this method. If you have not yet unlocked it, "Asinus" will also unlock.

  • Smashed up one of each type of physics object

There are four types of physics objects: Inert, Poison, Explosive, and Water Releasing. Inert objects simply disappear when destroyed, Poison objects release clouds of green poison gas, Explosive objects blow up causing large amounts of damage, and Water Releasing objects release water that can cause nearby worms to move downhill.

You may get this just playing normally, especially if you go through training. In the campaign, the easiest way to ensure you don't miss any objects is to play the Physics Objects level in the Sewers, in which you have to blow up objects to complete the level. From the Main Menu, select Single Player, Campaign, Sewers, and press :rb: three times. The title of the level should be "Training 4: Physics Objects." It should take less than five minutes to complete.

If you choose not to play the campaign, you should still get this without any conscious effort. When using the Concrete Donkey to get kills, you will destroy large parts of the map, including physics objects. If for some reason this has not unlocked when you get to working on "Worminator" and "Wormicide", stack the enemy worms on physics objects to save yourself time.

  • Spent 5 consecutive turns under water

Your worms will take 5 points of damage each turn they are under water, so this can be done with any worm that has at least 26 points of health. On a map with a puddle of water, move your worm so that he is completely immersed and then it is a matter of waiting five turns. Turns include turns by the opponent, so this happens rather quickly.

The achievement unlocks while the game is in progress.

  • Completed a single player level

The puzzle missions are accessed via the Main Menu by selecting Single Player, Puzzles.

  • Killed 10 enemy scout worms in online matches

Prior to starting the match, your partner needs to have purchased a scout worm in the Customization menu and added that to his worm lineup. The more they have purchased, the faster this will go. Create a private match and kill all scouts that your partner brings in the game, and then have him surrender. Rinse and repeat until you the achievement unlocks at your tenth scout kill.

This can be done in a private match with one other person, but it is recommended to play ranked matches instead so that you earn credits that you will need to purchase all the worms required. Given the dead servers, it shouldn't be difficult to match up with your partner.

  • Killed 10 enemy soldier worms in online matches

The default worms are soldiers, so this one should come easily while getting your 300 online kills to unlock "Worminator". If it isn't unlocking, ensure your partner selects a formation that includes at least one soldier. Create a private match and kill all soldiers that your partner brings in the game, and then have him surrender. Rinse and repeat until you the achievement unlocks at your tenth soldier kill.

This can be done in a private match with one other person, but it is recommended to play ranked matches instead so that you earn credits that you will need to purchase all the worms required. Given the dead servers, it shouldn't be difficult to match up with your partner.

  • Killed 10 enemy heavy worms in online matches

Prior to starting the match, your partner needs to have purchased a heavy worm in the Customization menu and added that to his worm lineup. The more they have purchased, the faster this will go. Create a private match and kill all heavies that your partner brings in the game, and then have him surrender. Rinse and repeat until you the achievement unlocks at your tenth heavy kill.

This can be done in a private match with one other person, but it is recommended to play ranked matches instead so that you earn credits that you will need to purchase all the worms required. Given the dead servers, it shouldn't be difficult to match up with your partner.

  • Killed 10 enemy scientist worms in online matches

Prior to starting the match, your partner needs to have purchased a heavy worm in the Customization menu and added that to his worm lineup. The more they have purchased, the faster this will go. Create a private match and kill all heavies that your partner brings in the game, and then have him surrender. Rinse and repeat until you the achievement unlocks at your tenth heavy kill.

This can be done in a private match with one other person, but it is recommended to play ranked matches instead so that you earn credits that you will need to purchase all the worms required. Given the dead servers, it shouldn't be difficult to match up with your partner.-

  • Killed an enemy worm with a physics object squashing them

Physics objects do 10 damage to worms when dropped. Create a Deathmatch clone game with your achievements game settings as instructed in the road map. When picking the map, a Single Island or Cavern map tend to be easiest to unlock this on. Next, you will need to damage an enemy worm to 10 health or less, and ensure that the worm is in an area with some room above it to drop the physics object from. Then choose the UFO from the weapon panel and activate it. You will get a red cursor on the screen which will turn into a circle when you place it over a physics object such as a bolt or lunch box. Press to pick up the object, then align it over the worm with 10 or less health and press to drop it. The achievement should unlock immediately.-

  • Killed a worm with an exploding physics object

You should unlock this as your first achievement. When you first load the game, you are required to complete a short tutorial that teaches you how to move through the maps. At the end of the tutorial you kill a worm with an airstrike. The worm is sitting next to a large physics object that is an unexploded bomb. The airstrike will make the bomb explode, killing the worm and unlocking this achievement. If for some reason you manage to avoid exploding the bomb, you can repeat the introductory tutorial at any time through the Help menu, or wait until you are working at your kill grinding and place enemy worms next to any red physics object and target that for an explosive kill.

  • Completed 10 fort games

You can do this online with a partner or in a clone game. Start a fort game with teleport on. When placing worms, you place your worms in a safe location and your partner or clone can merely drop their worms in the water, instantly ending the game. The achievement will unlock at the results screen after your tenth win.

  • Tarzan

    10

    Performed 5 repeat rope swings

This can be done in the introductory tutorial when you collect your second crate. Launch the rope at the ceiling and reel yourself all the way up. Then repeatedly press until the achievement unlocks. If you missed doing this in the introduction, you can replay it by selecting Help & Options from the Main Menu, and then choose Playable Intro. You can also do this in any game where you have a ceiling if you are using the achievement game settings as created in the road map.

  • Killed a worm with a weapon fired from the parachute

This is easiest done on a cavern map. Start a local versus game against a clone using the achievement game settings from the road map. Place your worms up high and the clone worms close to each other but not touching beneath you (you want a large target to make this easier). When it is your turn, select the parachute and jump off the edge. As soon as the parachute deploys, press and select a stick of dynamite. When your falling worm is at a point above the enemy worms, press to drop the dynamite. The achievement will unlock as soon as the first worm dies.

  • Killed 10 enemy worms with a placed sentry gun

This can be done in any game mode, but is easiest in a local versus deathmatch game with three clones and the achievement game settings from the road map. Use the Two Caverns template since that tends to create a lot of flat ground. Spawn the enemy worms onto two separate flat locations and when it is your turn drop a sentry gun near each group. Because worms explode when they die, move the enemy worms into the sentry gun's range one at a time. If an enemy dies because of a worm explosion, it doesn't count toward this achievement. The achievement unlocks as soon as you get your 10th kill with the sentry gun.

  • Killed 1000 enemy worms

This counts kills of enemy worms across all game types. There is no in-game counter or progress indicator, so you should get all other kill related achievements before trying to grind this one out, including Worminator. At that point, the fastest way to get kills is in a local Versus deathmatch set to three wins against three clones. Choose the Single Island or Two Islands template using the achievement game settings from the road map. Pile all of the worms in one spot with access to the open sky. To speed up placement, you can include your worms in the pile without consequence. Pass until it is your turn and hit the pile of worms with the Concrete Donkey. You can avoid the extended death scene of each worm blowing itself up if you position the pile of worms on the edge of the island with a slope angled down toward the edge of the map. This way the impact of the Concrete Donkey will tend to blow them into the water, with no death scene. Rinse and repeat.

  • Collected 100 weapon or utility crates

When playing any game using the achievement game settings as created in the road map, almost every turn you will get a crate drop. Since you also have unlimited teleports, you can collect all 100 of the required weapon or utility crates in one game (and then turn the setting to zero in your achievement game settings file to speed up future games). Simply create a clone game and have the clone skip their turn each time while you collect crates. You can unlock "Nightingale" at the same time.

The achievement pops in-game, and you can quit out immediately afterward if you wish.

  • Collected 100 health crates

When playing any game using the achievement game settings as created in the road map, almost every turn you will get a crate drop. Since you also have unlimited teleports, you can collect all 100 of the required health crates in one game (and then turn the setting to zero in your achievement game settings file to speed up future games). Simply create a clone game and have the clone skip their turn each time while you collect crates. You can unlock "Kleptomaniac" at the same time.

The achievement pops in-game, and you can quit out immediately afterward if you wish.

  • Dropped 50 mines

This counts mines dropped across all game modes. The easiest way to earn this quickly is in a deathmatch against a clone using the achievement game settings from the road map. Any map template will work, but Two Islands is the easiest. Drop one of your worms on a ledge with a good drop under it or at the edge of the water, one enemy worm somewhere safe, and all the other worms in the water. Each turn throw a mine off the edge or into the water, and have the clone pass. The achievement unlocks in-game as soon as you drop your 50th mine.

  • Killed 50 enemy worms by knocking them into the water

This can be easily earned in a versus game against a clone using the achievement rule set from the road map. Choose an island or two island map and pick a ledge that is at the edge of the land mass. Place all the clone worms near the edge and all of your worms next to them. Use the baseball bat to knock the clone worms into the water. If you haven't yet unlocked "How Rude", you can use the prod to knock the last one into the water to make progress toward that achievement. The "Big Gulp" achievement will unlock as soon as the 50th worm dies from being knocked into the water.

Secret achievements

  • Asinus

    10

    Used the fabled Concrete Donkey

Start a Deathmatch with a clone as specified in the road map, using your Achievements settings. On your first turn, press , choose the Concrete Donkey, and then press to use it. Note that it is rather huge and will destroy all of the terrain, crates, worms and objects from the top of the screen to the bottom where you drop it, in a column that takes up roughly a quarter of the map. This is also a very easy way to unlock The Hard One if you have lot of worms grouped together in the path of the donkey.

  • Won 5 games killing the last worm with a prod

The prod doesn't do any damage, but it does move the enemy worm enough to knock them off a ledge and into the water. This can be easily earned in a versus game against a clone using any rule set. Choose an island or two island map and pick a ledge that is at the edge of the land mass. Place a clone worm on the edge, one of your worms next to it, and all the other worms can be spawned in the water. Use the prod to bump the clone worm into the water, ending the game. The achievement will unlock on the victory screen after your fifth victory.

DLC: Mars Pack

There are 5 achievements with a total of 50 points

  • Complete all the Mars DLC Campaign missions

This achievement is part of the Mars Pack DLC.

To access the Mars Pack Campaign from the Main Menu, select Single Player and then choose Missions on Mars. There are five missions included in the DLC, starting with Mars Barred and ending with A Cosmic Encounter. This achievement is possible to complete immediately after the introductory tutorial due to a cheat code Team 17 (the developers) added to the game as an apology for some of the bugs that were included in the original release. To activate the cheat code, from the Main Menu select Help & Options, scroll down to credits, then press , , . At this point you will need to complete any one level to unlock "Strife on Mars".

  • Use each of the Buffalo, Poison Gun, Lightning Strike and Crate Strike at least once

Set up a local Versus match against a clone, using the achievement game settings you created in the road map. Instead of a random map, choose one that has open sky (single island or two islands template). On each of you four first turns, use the Buffalo, Poison Gun, Lightning Strike, and Crate Strike. You don't have to damage anyone, merely use them.

  • Resurrect at least one worm using the Lightning Strike

The Lightning Strike is available in the weapon panel, accessed in game by pressing . It is in the right most column, third row. Strategically, it can be used to recharge electromagnets and change the allegiance of sentry guns, as well as generally damaging enemy worms and various objects. However, if you use the Lightning Strike to target the gravestone of one of your deceased worms, it will resurrect it, unlocking this achievement. You cannot resurrect enemy worms, so at least one of your worms must have died in the match before you can earn this achievement.

  • Kill at least one worm using the Buffalo

The buffalo is selected from the weapon panel and after being launched, it runs in a straight line and explodes several times, damaging worms and the terrain as it goes. Each explosion doesn't do lots of damage, but as long as you drop a worm's health to zero with the buffalo you will unlock the achievement. This can be easily obtained in a clone game using the achievement game settings as described in the road map.

  • Win at least 5 online games in the Mars theme

This achievement is part of the Mars Pack DLC. If you don't own the DLC, you can still unlock the achievement if someone who does own the DLC invites you to a game using the Mars theme.

You will need to win five online games using the Mars theme. To access online games from the Main Menu, select Xbox LIVE and then choose Create Player Match. Press to select the default settings, and then on the next screen change Teleport In to On, invite a partner to your lobby, and then press to start the game. At the Map Generator screen, the theme icon is in the upper left and looks like a chicken body with a fish head. Select that icon using the and go down until you reach the bottom choice. The very bottom of your screen should say "Mars". Start the game and win (your opponent can surrender on their first turn.) Repeat this 4 more times to unlock the achievement.
