XCOM: Enemy Unknown

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Achievements
Poison Control10
Cure poison on five soldiers in a single mission. Single player only.

Before attempting this, you will need to research/build medikits and equip at least five when on the load out screen. It is highly recommended you use a Support soldier with the 'Field Medic' perk as this will alow a single medikit to be used three times instead of once

The easiest way a soldier can become poisoned is by a Thin Man so it is a good idea to attempt this in an early objective based mission. (The Thin Men seem to be the main enemy in these missions.) There are two ways to be poisoned, either have a Thin Man spit poison at you or after you have killed one, move your soldier into the poison cloud it leaves behind.

Once a soldier becomes poisoned it must be treated by a soldier carrying a medikit. Just be sure that the soldier running into the cloud can't be carrying a medikit as this will make them immune. When five soldiers have been cured of poison, the achievement will unlock.

TIP: An easier method to achieve this is to try and isolate a Thin Man and have at least five of your soldiers close by. Have your first soldier move in close and make the kill. Once the Thin Man is dead and has left behind a cloud of poison, move each member within the cloud. On your next turn, set about curing everyone. Be sure to make a save before attempting this as it may take several tries.

Note: This does not have to be 5 soldiers. It can be done with 1 soldier, 5 times. Just do a Bomb Disposal mission with all Thinmen. Had 1 soldier run in to the poison and out, cured then back in to get poisoned again. Done this way, each cloud is good for 2 poisonings.

I've never had 5 soldiers get poisoned in a single mission. I guess I'll have to send them running through the poison clouds that the thin men leave when they die.

Still haven't done this myself yet, but, I think the best chance would be one of the council missions as they seem to mostly (If not always) just be thin men.

So you "cure" the poison just by healing that unit with a Medkit?

how do i do this when soldiers are automatically immune to poison with medpack and support can only carry a max of 3?

@6 -Well you will have to change your load-outs. Take off grenades or scopes or whatever you're using with the other soldiers and give them medkits (hire on a couple of rookies). Or, get another support on your team with the 3 medkit upgrade. Just have to do it for one mission then you can change it back. (

Make sure not to equip Titan (and Archangel?) Armor while getting this, as it grants immunity to poison.

My guess is play an easy game, and have everyone either A)equipped w/ Medikits or B)2 Supports w/ Medkits. Run through the poison cloud of a thin man, heal and repeat w/ 4 other soldiers.

@9 If a soldier has a medikit equipped then he/she is immune to poison, even if all its charges have been used, so, your plan A wouldn't work.

Either have two Support soldiers with the field medic skill, or, one of them and two other types of soldiers with medikits.

It doesn't have to be five unique soldiers that get cured, the same poor guy could get poisoned five times and it would still work.

So in theory you could have five Assault class soliders with medikits and they all heal the sixth member five times if you really wanted to.

Hope this clears up some confusion.

Wait for a Council mission. Like Magik Biz said they are usuallyfull of Thin Men. Out of 7 CMS only one had something other than Thins.

Like #12 said:

1. Wait for a council mission (usually all thin men).
2. Equip carapace armor or lower.
3. Have a soldier (NOT support medic, they're immune) run back and forth twice each turn between a poison cloud and have medics on both sides of the cloud heal twice per turn on one unit.

Remember same soldier can get poisoned 5x and still obtain the cheevo.

It was a valid question from him... mine do that sometimes too. The key is to use the bumper to switch soldiers back and forth a few times and you'll see your support guy actually target the guy in front of him instead of the little target symbol just hanging in the air.

Extremely easy to do in "Operation Cold Rain" (Friends in Low Places). There is always a thin man that appears on the left side of the group after the first turn. Put all your soldiers there in the first turn. (You can save your game at the beginning of the scenario, end the first turn, check where the thin man will appear and reload...) Ideal group is 3 support with Field Medic ability and Medikits and 3 others with no Medikit. Each non support soldier is going into the poison cloud on is first move, the support ones are curing them right away. Move the 3 first soldiers a second time into the cloud and big chances are that wou will get it in the 3 first turns of the scenario. A second thin man will appear in the middle of the map but you dont have to bother with him if your armors are upg

This is harder as it seems, as you have to move at least 3 people (2 support units with 3 med kit uses) near a poison cloud, before it disappears - putting half your squad directly in the line of fire.

Just remember where the thin men spawn, reload your save and work your way over there.

It IS doable.
