Introduction:
Your Shape 2012 is the second in the Your Shape fitness series for Kinect from Ubisoft. Designed to give your body a total workout, and features even more excercies and workouts than the first game.

This is a workout game, and while most of the achievements are simple to get, they will take quite a bit of work. You will need to complete everything available in the game (and then some) to earn all of the achievements.

Pre-Game:
Before starting, visit YourShapeCenter.com and create an account there. (If you already have a Uplay account, log in with that instead.) This will allow to track your progress online, join events, and issue challenges, earning you the Track your progress online, Be part of the community, and Ready Steady Go! achievements after completing an exercise in the game. If you created an account with the first game, you can skip this step, as your progress carries over from that game to this one.

Set-up:
Once in the game, you'll want to set up your profile (height, weight, and age), and create an objective. If you want to burn more calories per session, lower your height and age, and max out your weight.

Exercise!
This is the longest part. Every activity in the game lets you burn calories, some more so than others. Your goal is to reach 200,000 calories burned. Fortunately, you need to complete every available exercise in the game at least once, and earn 50 badges and 23 medals, so there is plenty of stuff to burn calories on. Along the way you will earn a host of calorie- and exercise-related achievements.

You can do this in any way you see fit, but be sure to play at least three times a week for four weeks straight, and burn at least 100 calories per week. This will net you the Consistent Contender and Creature of Habit achievements. Be sure you meet your objective's goal, and you will get the Goal-getter achievement.

As you progress through the game, you'll earn the Jump Around!, Safari, So Good!, Stick to the plan, and Creature Of Habit achievements, which will award you Uplay points. You'll need to use these points to unlock three additional exercises for use towards the Bring It On! achievement for completing all available Workouts.

Burn 200,000 Calories!
Once you've completed everything the game has to offer, you'll likely be far from the 200K calories needed for 3 Black Star. You can go for this through normal use, but it will take years to earn naturally. Fortunately, there is a trick you can do to speed this up, detailed in the guide.

If you plan on using any of the DLC, it is recommended to get it while you are still working towards 200,000 calories.

Conclusion:
Your Shape 2012 is a long game to complete, but well worth it. The exercises can be rather fun and challenging, and you just might lose some weight in the process.

DLC: Bundle Pack: Back in Shape Lose It & Jump Rope

Walkthrough:
The Back in Shape Lose It & Jump Rope Bundle Pack DLC adds Jump Rope Survival and four different Weight Loss exercises to the game. You'll need to complete Jump Rope Survival ten times, and each Weight Loss exercise three times.

These are really simple achievements, but will take some time due to the length of the Weight Loss exercises.

DLC: Bundle Pack: Keep It Off! & Cool Down

Walkthrough:
The Keep It Off! & Cool Down Bundle Pack DLC adds two Cool Down activities, and four different Weight Control exercises to the game. You'll need to complete each Cool Down activity once, and each Weight Control exercise three times.

These are really simple achievements, but will take some time due to the length of the Weight Control exercises.

This achievement is earned by creating an account with YourShapeCenter.com, and using it to track your progress online. If you already have a UPlay account, sign in with that instead. Be sure to link your gamertag, as you'll need your friends list for the Ready Steady Go! achievement. Once this is complete, play the game, complete one exercise, and you'll get the achievement.

Then click on JOIN on the one you want to subscribe to. Once this is complete, play the game, complete one exercise, and you'll get the achievement.

If you joined an event for the first Your Shape game, you will unlock this after completing your first exercise in this game.

Ready Steady Go!5

Challenges are friendly competitions between you and your Xbox LIVE friends. You get this by either starting or accepting a challenge on YourShapeCenter.com.

To start a challenge, click on CHALLENGES on the site. Here, you can create or accept a challenge. To make one, click on CREATE A NEW CHALLENGE, then add a description, define the target (calroies burned), and select a friend(s) to invite. Fitness Scout10
Collect 5 different badges

See Meritorious.

Meritorious60
Collect every badge

You'll need to earn all 50 badges in the game to earn this achievement. The majority of badges are earned by trying out a type of exercise for the first time, and by completing every session of a particular exercise. There are 23 different types of exercises, so you will earn 46 badges for completing them all.

You will also earn a badge for playing the game for three and ten days, and also for exercising for 30 and 60 minutes straight in one day. This adds four more, bringing the total to 50.

You can track the activity-specific badges by going into each exercise's section; the two for playing three and ten days are found on the far left of the main menu; and the 30 and 60 minute badges are found under My Progress.

Bring on the Bling10
Collect 5 different Medals

See Solid Gold.

Solid Gold50
Collect all Medals

You'll need to earn 23 medals in the game to earn this achievement. You can earn one medal for each type of exercise, and you'll earn 1/8 of a medal as progress each time you complete one session of an exercise. Progress can be tracked on the tile for each type of exercise, just to the right of the name.

Since you need to complete all exercises to earn Meritorious, it's best to work toward this at the same time. Some exercises do not have eight different versions available, so it will be necessary to repeat some exercises to complete those medals.

Complete a G Series FIT™ Workout5
Complete Gunnar Peterson's Workout (3)

This can be found under the G Series Fit section under the My Bonus Content section from the Main Menu. It's 30-minute long weight exercise. Complete it and the achievement is yours.

Goal-getter40
Complete an Objective

An Objective can be created in the My Objective section. After answering a few questions, the game will recommend target exercise times and frequency, such as exercising 60 minutes a day, three times a week for four weeks, for a target time 720 minutes in total.

After creating an objective, you must use the exercises marked with blue flags to earn progress toward it. Once you've met your total target time, the achievement will unlock.

You do not actually need to exercise as frequently as you designate, you simply need to reach your target total time. You could do one long session to complete the objective in one day if you'd like.

To make it easy on yourself, change the frequency to the lowest possible settings: once a week, 30 minutes a day, four weeks, for a total time of 120 minutes.

You need to complete every different workout in the game at least once. There are 91 workouts to complete across the different types, three of which need to be unlocked via Uplay. Burn 150,000 calories (1)

See 3 Black Star.

3 Black Star70
Burn 200,000 calories (26)

Nearly every exercise you do in this game burns calories. Each exercise has a tracker that is prominently displayed, so you can see what you've burned while exercising. The more rigorous the activity, the more you burn.

Burning 200,000 calories is no easy feat. If you use this game as intended, and only exercise for 30 to 60 minutes a day a few times a week, it will take several years of regular activity to burn this.

Fortunately, there are several things that can speed this along for achievement hunters:

Set your weight to the max allowable, and height to the shortest. Make yourself a teenager.

Any progress you've earned in Your Shape: Fitness Evolved will carry over, as long as you signed up with YourShapeCenter.com for the first game. This can give you a good head start, and, if you burned at least 10,000 calories in the first game, earn you the Orange Belt, The Spartan, Green Belt, First 1K, Blue Belt, Purple Belt, and Red Belt achievements. These will unlock after completing your first exercise in this game.

Finally, there is an exploit you can use to trick the Kinect into thinking you're playing the game, and still burn calories. It involves the Run the World races and a chair. This has to be done offline, as it was patched out, so you'll need to clear your system cache to remove the patch before attempting it. This method will allow you to burn calories at a very high rate, potentially 2000 to 5000 per hour if done correctly.

Start up the shortest Run the World race available (New York 1), and while the game loads, position a chair in front of you, but remain standing. If done correctly, the chair you be a part of your in-game avatar. After it begins, duck behind the chair, so that Kinect thinks you're crouching. The chair should be the only thing visible, and the game should think it is you. This might take a few tries to trick the game and Kinect. You can try putting a blanket over the chair to help disguise its shape.

If you did it right, the calories should start going up, but you should not be moving forward in the race. Now just reposition the chair to increase the rate of calories burned. 60 calories a minute is a good rate to try for, but this isn't always possible; 30 is more likely to happen. Once you're happy with the rate of burn, crawl out of the Kinect's range, and go do other things. Check on the game periodically to make sure you're still burning calories, and that it hasn't paused.

When you want to stop, remove the chair from view, and make Kinect refocus on you. You'll then have to finish the race for the calories to count, which is why you want the shortest race possible. If you like time-stamps on your achievements, stop short of your achievement goal so you can finish up the race. Then connect to LIVE, and earn it online. (NOTE: You'll need to re-enter your height, weight and age after reapplying the patch.)

Below is a video showing the chair method in action:

Thanks to Euler13 for discovering the chair method, and to Sashamorning for the video.
