E3 2009: Day One Recap

E3 2009: Day One Recap

Written Monday, June 01, 2009 By Jason Debelyak
Yes, E3 doesn't officially open it's doors until tomorrow, but we were again treated to a slew of press conferences before the doors to the show floor actually open.  So, for numerical purposes, we'll go ahead and label today as day one.  Microsoft dropped quite a few bombshells on the gaming world, and EA showed a few games of interest.  However, other than Assassin's Creed 2, Ubisoft seemingly missed the target for the Xbox 360 crowd.  If you missed anything today, or simply want a refresher course, check out the full listing of today's news.  Trust me, there's a few things you won't want to miss.  Also, stay tuned for detailed accounts of both the Microsoft and EA press conferences.  Ubisoft's press conference would be best understood if you simply leafed through an issue of Teen Vogue.

Wow!! And that's just from ONE day! Be warned, there will be a lot more media flowing in over the next couple of days (trailers and screenshots), and we hope there will be a few more shockers and game announcements in store.  Stay tuned for our fully detailed accounts of both the Microsoft and EA press conferences, as well as any other news as soon as it comes in.  I sincerely apologize if we overloaded your brains with all of this information in one post.  Until tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen..

An awesome day for Microsoft! Project Natal and Metal Gear on 360 are huge. The 3D game should be interesting. EA seemed a let down. EA MMA hmmm. Cant wait to follow this into the next couple days

As much as I love the gaming announcements, the non-gaming entertainment and social networking stuff is game-changing. MS is leaving Sony in its dust, and has a very good chance of regaining the advantage over Nintendo.

Ubisoft missing the target? Are you kidding me?! I was throughly impressed with what was shown for Splinter Cell: Conviction. I think both titles (Assassins Creed 2 and Splinter Cell) will do very well this year.
